Will be a good fight in 2 years from now. Ramirez needs to mature a little bit as a fighter and gain some popularity before enetering in the ring with GGG.
Yeah, I'm not overly impressed with Ramirez. Lacks head movement, gets hit way too much. Isn't overly skilled, or overly quick.
But he does go to the body consistently.
HAHA you just described GGG and wonder why some people don't rate him.
I still think Ramirez is a solid prospect and will become a world champion.
Just because he didn't sparkle against a very big and underrated Vlasov doesn't change a thing, Vlasov had one loss against Chilemba in a fight he dropped Chilemba (twice if I recall) and had a super strong case for winning.
Vlasov might not have the resume but he is a top 10 fighter at super middle or light heavyweight.
This kid is still 23, he has time on his side and will no doubt capture a few world titles in that rather stale division.
GGG is staying put at 160 for now but say he moves up in a year, I expect Zurdo to have that belt from Stieglitz/Abraham, that would be a good fight for GGG to test the waters. Zurdo will also be more established and seasoned. Its a good fight for the future but right now it makes little sense for either guy.
Yeah okay, GGG won't fight such an opponent. Power, 6'2", 75 inch reach, 1 weight class higher. Sorry, not happening. How is GGG gonna go from fighting a guy with 6 KO's and Daniel Geale to Ramirez?
They are literally 10 years apart. Ramirez gets a pass because when you are 23 years old, you get a pass. When you are 33, not so much.
He wanted to fight Froch in the UK, and Froch >>> Zurdo
Gilberto Ramirez is one of the least talented middleweights I have seen in a long time. Slow, ponderous, no special effects.
He's a super middleweight tho!
Interesting Match-up...
Thoughts.....?
Interesting match up!? Have you seen his last fight? "Zordon" or whatever the **** he goes by is on a steady diet of the good old Chavez Jr tomato cans!
GGG outboxes him and takes him out late!
Ramirez is so average and basic. I can't believe any airtime is being wasted on him right now. He has a very rudimentary skill level and very average power. Zurdo Ramirez? Mierda Ramirez.

How are you gonna complain about GGG's resume when you have Ramirez fighting airport bag handlers?

Zurdo Ramirez, seriously never heard of this guy at all. Just like Mariaga from last week, where does Top Rank find these nobodies from...
:lol1::lol1: I was thinking the same thing!!
Wow, wow... The 2nd video was a Peter Nelson bash-fest. Very interesting. Some real friction with TR/HBO being exposed here.
Bob goes off on Nelson for forcing them to make the Rameriz/Vlasov fight. Says the fight made Rameriz look bad and he's mad about it.
Then he said Nelson is trying to match up Crawford with certain guys and Bob says they'll take him else where if they don't like the matches. I think Bruce Trampler & Carl Morretti are outstanding match makers, best in the sport, but HBO expects some accountability as well. I like that Nelson is hands on and intelligent in regards to the sport - Kerry Davis was the complete opposite, a little pant-sniffer.
As for Rameriz/Golvokin, I love the fight. But Bob is just using GGG's name to hype Rameriz. Let Rameriz get built up, Golovkin destroys him right now. Rameriz will have a tough fight vs Abraham/Steiglitz in November. Rameriz has had numerous training camps in Golovkin's gym at Big Bear, is a huge fan of Golovkin, yet they've never sparred...
