So I got LOWER LEVEL tickets to the fight, but should I go? Or should I stay at home and save money on gas, toll, parking, and food/drinks?
As you can see, for LOWER LEVEL seats, they were free. FREE.
How does this guy think he's a PPV star etc when tickets to his fight (at HIS home town) can't even sell and people are handing them out for free just to fill up the seats to give it the illusion that there are people actually there.
Mercito Gesta in Vegas, for nose bleeds, were even on sale for $50, while Ward, has free LOWER LEVEL tickets for free. I've heard of free upper level but LOWER LEVEL!!! lmao.
I'll probably just go and then stream the Porter fight on my phone.
Yea it was cool, $35 for parking wasn't though wtf was that about.
"music performance" was garbage though. Really could've done without that nonsense
Yeah i didnt like that either but its Roc-Nation so gotta expect it on all shows
Did you go?
I went and it was fun. Granted i went to the game next door too so the alcohol, among other things, was flowing through me already but i thought it was lively and had a good time

waiting for a cut at the barber shop, dude walks in asking who wants tickets, I said you got 2, he said he got as many as I need.

It's in Oakland. Who cares if it's free, it's in Oakland. That town sucks
:fing26::fing26::fing26: Oakland has it's rep, but it is nice. Go to the hills, Piedmont, etc and you'll see
so parking cost $35. $35?!?!?!. It wasn't even that high ($30) during the warriors playoffs. But I guess Oracle has to make their money some place seeing as how tickets to the "event" were being handed out for free at the local barber shops and shoe palace's.
One nice highlight of the night however was seeing that big nosed 9ers quarterback idiot get booed. The "music" entertainment was more garbage live than on TV, at least on TV could change the channel.
Casual fans love the knockout, but they don't understand basic concepts of boxing.
Just like casual hockey fans get bored watching a 1-0 game or a 0-0 game that goes to overtime but they love a 7-0 blowout. They do not understand the intricacies of the game and the defensive skill required to keep a game close or scoreless.
But by the same token, a 0-0 game that has one team on constant offense and the other team only on defense with no offense at all and who can only stay in the game because of a hot goalie, has no balance and no entertainment value for even the most knowledgeable fan.
There has to be a balance between offense and defense. Given the choice between watching one or the other, 95% of people will choose to watch pure offense over pure defense.
"never argued that he is a PPV star" lmao really? you've never heard him?
and since you're bringing up GGG into the convo, all I know is someone from KAZAKSTAN, is more popular than Ward in the US.
Funny you mention "I have no doubt" without showing the FACTS.

oh i couldn't find the numbers for that fight but yes he's steadily gone downhill over the years because of his boredom. they gave him a look and decided nope he's not for me. he's trash.

Maybe there was 5k giveaways though...
There was 10,277 in attendance for the Kessler fight, so it appears as if that was the high point and then people has slowlybut surely drifted away.

Slowly butt surely. :lol1:
ward was never a big draw. the dawson fight was his high point at 7000. froch, abraham, rodriguez did 4000-5000. this fight against smith they are giving away tickets. people came to see him and instead of his numbers going up like ggg they went down which means they didn't like what they paid for.
