A march madness type of tournament to fight mayweather
Not a bad idea, this isn't the best way to go about it, but not bad...

A May Mayhem Melee Madness for a Payday with May!
A boxing tournament for the ultimate payday and chance to become victim number 49 for Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather skips his fight in September vs (Nobody Cares), and Haymon and the PBC build up a fighter worthy of the lottery fight with Floyd.
Boxing fans wouldn’t buy a Mayweather-Khan bout for price of a SD hotel movie rental, $2.99. Casual and fair weather fans would google ‘Amir Khan’ and see his highlight reel of getting knocked out, gifs of his bambi legs, and quickly realize there is a Ronda Rousey fight on the same night. If Amir Khan wants a fight with Mayweather, he has to prove that his baby giraffe legs are gone for good! He has to earn his title like the 1997 Arizona Wildcats of Bibby, Miles, and Terry did by going through 3 #1 seeds!
It wouldn’t be a straight up bracket like March Madness, but it could be similar and it would make all participants always remember that even with 1 shoulder Manny Pacquiao was able to earn over $120 Million Dollars for 36 minutes of work.
Here is how it would break down.
FIGHT 1
Amir Khan and Kell Brook have to go at it first. They both think they are ready for the fight and payday with May, and they both dislike hate each other. Preferable this fight would be in the UK at Wembley in front of 80,000 screaming fans.
FIGHT 1 AMIR KHAN VS KELL BROOK
FIGHT 2
Keith Thurman is getting a ton of mentions in this ordeal, and I like to take some of the credit for One Time since Al Bernstein did come on my show and say that Thurman has the ability to maybe beat Floyd. (How I get the credit, it doesn’t matter I’m taking it)
Thurman is undefeated, ready for PBF May, but can’t go at him yet so he would get the next best thing….
Chris Algieri.
Wait, What?
Chris ‘Rage Against the Cage’ Algieri vs Keith Thurman?
Yep.
It’s like March Madness, the #1 seeds get to play the #16 seeds. #1 Thurman #16 Algieri.
But even the March Madness setup isn’t, Janet Jackson in her prime perfect, so let’s add in a #16 vs #16 match between Chris Algieri and Paulie Malignaggi.
The winner gets Thurman. Loser has to move up and fight GGG, and has to call a few fights for free with no sunglasses on over the bruises. (Joking about that GGG stuff)
Thurman already has an upcoming Florida home fight vs Luis Collazo in July so it evens out.
FIGHT 2 THURMAN-ALGIERI/MALIGNAGGI
FIGHT 3
Fight 3 is already set up for us in just a few weeks, Showtime Shawn Porter vs Adrien ‘The Problem” Broner. Both of these guys have an L on their record, the fear of another one hanging over their careers and egos, and the pride of Ohio on the line. A potential match payday with PBF adds extra incentive.
FIGHT 3 BRONER-PORTER (JUNE 20TH ON PBC)**
(An asterisk for this fight includes. *If Broner wins he would have to remove all his Mayweather posters from his bedroom, stop all of his fan/stan stuff towards Mayweather, and maybe even let Mayweather have sexual relations with his side piece in hopes to add some anger since he will be fighting his bromance.)
FIGHT 4
Fight four is going to have to be later in the year so Manny Pacquiao can get his shoulder back to 100%. His opponent? The sometimes good, sometimes average, Marcos Maidana. Now of course Pacman isn’t a PBC fighter, and Bob Arum can be a bit of a Buzz Killington, but let these two duke it out regardless of their place in the tournament. If Pacman wins in a KO or stoppage he can pretty much jump over all the other fighters for a rematch. (We all know that won’t happen) Also nobody wants to see Maidana get destroyed by PBF May a 3rd time so he too has to win by KO in under 4 rounds.
FIGHT 4 PACQUIAO-MAIDANA**
An asterisk here for one of these fighters has to pretty much KO the other fighter to continue in the tourney. The winner has to fight whatever fight looks the best in round 1.
FIGHT 5
Now please don’t think that I forgot about the slowest boxer to ever be called, Swift, my man, Danny Garcia. Garcia has major punching power, he is known for his punching power, and we all know what his punching power did to Khan so it makes me wonder why is his nickname, Swift? None-the-Less. For fight 5 it would be ‘Swifty’ vs Timothy Bradley.
It does seem like Mayweather already beat Bradley, but they have never fought. Bradley is a pretty similar fighter to Mayweather, except not as good. Also add in the fact that Garcia and Bradley have always thrown shots at each other in the press and we’ve got plenty of action!
FIGHT 5 GARCIA-BRADLEY
FIGHT 6
Fight Six is another fight that should be happening in the future regardless of how our May Mayhem Melee Parlay takes place, and that is, Cotto vs Canelo.
Now both these fighters fought Floyd and lost in one sided bouts. It makes sense to pair these two up, and they are probably on a collision course regardless.
FIGHT 6 COTTO-CANELO
THE OTHER GUYS
Now since some of these fights are set or about to be set up very soon, there isn’t a lot of time to get all fights in before May. It should be able to happen though.
The play in fights (kind of like the play in games) could be mixed up between a ton of great fighters including Lucas Matthysse, Lamont Peterson, Ruslan Provodnikov, Brandon Rios, and former guys that fought Floyd already like José Luis Castillo, Juan Manuel Marquez, Victor Ortiz, and Robert ‘The Ghost’ Guerrero.
It is great fights no matter who you pick and choose to enter the ring.
These added fighters or ‘The Other Guys” would get a chance to move up if a fighter was injured, didn’t look great in a bout, or for any other reason that the boxing world Al Haymon decides.
Obviously this graphic isn’t to scale, but it is pretty close. Also at any given time the boxing world Al Haymon could move a fighter to and from another bracket.
