Golovkin is a little overhyped, if he wants to prove hes legit. Why not fight Lara?. Lara also has over 300 amatuer fights and would be the best guy GGG has faced. Only problem is GGG doesnt seem to want the fight. GGG seriously needs to step it up and prove himself, fighting lara would do that. Lara has said multiple times he wants the fight. Yeah. It's not like he wants Carl Froch or anything. Froch is the first option. The N'Dam-Lemuiex winner should be the second option. Unification Andy Lee third. Unification Lara fourth. This makes sense.

He TKOD angulo Yeah,and he still got dropped twice...try getting dropped twice against golovkin and see how fast you can move around the ring. Like I said,golovkin style is all wrong for Lara,and all we'd get from that fight is another knockout highlight for GGG,and another 1000 threads about how golovkin is picking on smaller fighters,and how he should fight ward,despite ward still needing his 1-2 tunups.

If GGG was going to go out of his way to fight someone that was Haymon he'd probably fight Quillin. But even the N'Dam-Lemuiex winner should hold priority over Lara. But I know Lara is fighting the always awesome Delvin. lol

GGG is not trying to pick on smaller fighters. Where did you get that BS. He wants Cotto because Cotto is a 160 pound belt holder. If Cotto is too small for the weight he should give up the title and return to 154 instead of changing the class limit to 157. No middleweight champ in history prior to Cotto has made his challengers fight him at a weight lower than the traditional 160 pounds. GGG would destroy tract star Lara but why would he fight Lara? GGG is trying to get all the middleweight belts an establish himself as the best middleweight in the world. Lara has never defeated a middleweight and he is dull as dirt and doesn't bring in the fans or the money. GGG could KO Lara and then his haters like you would only say he beat up a smaller man. If GGG wants to pick on a smaller fighter, why doesn't he fight Erislandy Lara at 158 catchweight? that would be a real good test for him against a guys who's fast and elusive, good ring IQ, with skills and good stamina, Monroe was gassed after 2 rounds, and he was also gassed in the Vera fight after 3-4 rounds and had to stand on the ropes to catch a breezer. Will people please stop mentioning GGG vs Lara....its a huge mismatch, Lara would get destroyed and it is probably impossible to make anyway. Nobody is an actual fan of Lara..they just use his name to say the fighter they don't like might lose to him.

His ass gets schooled for 12 rounds that's why. Dude is a complete hype beast with no defensive skills or head movement. Lara would have to fight for his life Cuz he won't be able to run for 12 rds. GGG cuts off the ring too well.

I like the fight because the strengths of both men play against one another at high level, but I don't think it's possible due to the politics. Haymon has too much invested into the PBC, with HBO as the only resistance to his brand assuming the whole of the sport. I don't see him allowing one of his guys to go on HBO and lose, increasing the star power of one HBO's biggest stars. I think that's the reason we just got Willie Monroe. People were asking for Lara, so they gave us a guy who's pretty similar but without all the aggravation of having to go through what would've ended up a failed negotiation. We should move off Golovkin/Lara and maybe start asking for Golovkin/DeGale (if the Froch fight falls through). DeGale is in neutral territory, bigger than Golovkin, southpaw, accomplished title holder, with Olympic pedigree.
