AMIR KHAN has told Floyd Mayweather Jr. he is running out of excuses to avoid him.
The Bolton welterweight believes if he can shine against Chris Algieri on Friday then the American will not be able to turn down a September clash.
But he knows a bad performance is just what Mayweather’s camp want so they can say no yet again.
Khan, 28, has been chasing a shot at the pound-for-pound king for two years as he prepares to face American welterweight Algieri in New York this week.

You're pretty sure Khan out points him 9-3 but you also think it's 50-50?
So, you aren't sure then :lol1:
Hahahahahaha it's something wrong with that guy.
Cannot blame Khan o any other fighter for doing whatever they think will make a fight with Mayweather more likely. It's like 10 times the money for them than any other fight.
Isn't Mayweather just tailor-made for Khan?
pretty sure Khan out-points Floyd 9-3.. Too young, fast, and long.
The only thing that would let Floyd win is if Khan's brain fails him. Mayweather is the smartest fighter in the world. Bar-none. But if Khan stays within Floyd's strato of composure, he'll beat him because he has what it takes.
That said, it's 50-50..

Making a ''big deal'' and giving empirical headway on a fight are two different things. If you watched the Floyd fight even from Rd 1 Floyd was trying to counter Pac like Marquez did in Rd 6 of bout 4 and he barely missed. Point being Floyd goes for what he already knows. Therefore Floyd's going to go after his chin early. You as well as many probably forget Floyd's got power in both hands. I mean seriously Khan can't beat Floyd. Floyd knows everybody's game and is no different than him sparring with someone in his gym. His IQ is ace.
Maidana went after his chin early, caught him on his chin a few times mid-fight and couldn't even drop him. That was when Khan first moved to 140 and was no longer weight drained at 135. Weight draining effects your punch resistance - happens to lots of fighters (Pacquiao himself was KOd earlier in his career because of weight draining - and KOd to the body, not to the head). Khan subsequently outgrew 140, moved to 147 and, in his own words, he feels "much stronger and not weight drained".
Floyd might catch him and hurt him, he does have power in both hands. But even if he catches him can he stop a Khan who isn't weight-drained? Maidana couldn't stop him. And if Floyd doesn't stop Khan, there's no telling who could win it on points - especially if the methodical Khan who fought Paulie, Judah and Alexander shows up. Khan's style has the potential to at least make it a close fight against Floyd.
What Amir's bedroom walls look like, except they're all photos of Floyd.

Wait you said Floyd clinched Pac repeatedly? You are nuts to compare 78 clinches initiated by Khan vs Floyd's total of how many in the Pac fight? All boxers clinch even Pac.
Exactly so why make such a big deal out of Khan clinching? Just because it was more clinching than say an average fight - Khan got a point deducted for that so the referee took action against him already. So why make a big issue out of it when the ref already took a point off Khan anyway? That point could have cost him the fight if it was close but Collazo was completely dominated and outclassed from the first bell.
Khan went 12rds with Collazo on his 147 debut and clinched and headlocked an average of 6 times per round as he did a marvelous 78 total. He even got a point taken for holding...almost 2. It was a rigged fight as they're both Haymon. Try and find a post presser on tube. Collazo never once complained about it in press reports and Collazo is not even known to be a clincher. Luis is a seasoned 147... food for thought
Sounds like some strange conspiracy theory, not sure what your point is with"food for thought"? Luis didn't complain about being clinched? Well he fought Ricky Hatton before so the number of clinches in the Khan fight were nothing compared to the Hatton fight. He was affectionately known as "The Hugman" (a play on his alias "The Hitman").
Khan had a gameplan he stuck to - fight in flurries and spoil Collazo's work if he gets too close by clinching if necessary. Klitschko does that all the time and never gets a single point taken off. Mayweather did that to Pacquiao repeatedly and didn't have a point taken. Porter clinched the hell out of Alexander. and vice versa at times - no points taken. Brook clinched Porter continuously and didn't have a point taken. And so on.. the examples are endless so why make a big deal out of Khan clinching Collazo?
I think Khan is a very good boxer. I've never seen him outboxed. I don't think he will beat Floyd (I think Khan will get Ko'ed), but i think he could pose some problems along the way.
The biggest indicator that Khan would cause Floyd some problems - is easy to see - it's that Floyd won't fight him. Use your brains people - he's been avoiding him for ages. Khan was even promised a fight and Floyd effectively pulled out which took Khan out of boxing for a year waiting around for it.
I actually think Khan was a big reason Floyd accepted the Manny fight. He had to pick one of the two. Floyd is a smart fighter but he picks his opponents and often handicaps them. (e.g. Canelo). And there's a reason the Pacquiao fight only happened 5 years on...
Does anyone remmeber the poll Floyd ran on Twitter for his fans to pick his next opponent out of Maidana and Khan? Well Khan won, and guess who Floyd chose - Maidana.
Khan may be delusional but don't be making Floyd's excuses for him.
So have you considered the reason Floyd hasnt fought him, is bcuz the level of opposition hes been facing? How can Khan be rated highly at 147 when he hasnt faced any top rated welters? More importantly, why is khan being rated higher than welters who have beaten better and higher rated welters than Khan has? Is it bcuz hes "fast"?
LOL @ people saying Floyd's been avoiding Khan for years.
Where was Khan back in 2012? Getting KO'd by Garcia.
In 2013, he struggled with ancient Julio Diaz.
If Floyd had ever decided to fight Khan in the past Floyd would've been killed on this site for cherry picking. Khan still has not beaten a top WW.
Cherry picking? haha
Let's look at some of Floyd's former opponents, how badly was he killed on the site for cherry picking?
Fought Maidana - a guy Amir Khan already beat.
Fought Ortiz - a guy who was beat by Maidana.
Fought Guerrero whose previous 3 opponents were Berto, Aydin and Michael Katsidis!
Fought Marquez by making him come up 2 weight divisions in his first 147 fight.
Fought Canelo at a catchweight.
etc.etc..etc..
Floyd can be killed for cherry picking in all his fights. No matter who you pick at 147 - Brook? Thurman? Too inexperienced, not enough big title fight experience so Floyd = cherry picking.
Floyd's just that good, any fighter at 147 could be viewed as a cherry pick if you want them to be. But Khan is the biggest threat and that's why Floyd Sr thinks he'll beat Floyd.
