How good is Cotto's chin?

I haven't seen too many Cotto fights but he was stopped in his two losses against known punchers, Pac and Margarito. Granted both arguably stopped him through sheer volume along with natural strength, how good is Cotto's chin actually? He did fight Shane Mosley who is a big puncher and beat him but at 154 and 160 can Cotto's chin keep him standing and survive flush shots from guys like Lara, Charlo, and Andrade? Canelo is the biggest puncher at 154 so do you guys think Canelo would KO Cotto when/if they fight? Personally I think Canelo would stop Cotto in under 10 rounds.

Say again??? You wouldn't quit getting hit with plasters? and the ref stopped the pacquiao fight. In the Pac fight he told his corner to stop it and they kept sending him out. Brave to not want to go in and do it because your corner told you it is the last round. He has never been laid out. Knocked down yes but not stopped on a flurry of punches or a one punch KO. He breaks down mentally and quits.

i agree with you, good chin, but his face has taken several damage after all these wars, featherfisted trout had that face looking like pizza... if he goes into a war his chin will hold longer than his face... I agree. His scar tissue is insane.

Cotto took flush punches from Randall Bailey one of the 15P4P power punchers of the last 10-15 years. Ill say its pretty decent, Ill agree with the 7-8/10 scale. The thing is that his scar tissue left by the loaded gloves of Margacheto makes him get swollen by the wind hitting his face. Looks like he took on damage when he barely got touched up. i agree with you, good chin, but his face has taken severe damage after all these wars, featherfisted trout had that face looking like pizza... if he goes into a war his chin will hold longer than his face...

It's average maybe slightly above average. Torres was a big puncher and Pac landed that perfect uppercut. The only time you could really question his chin was the Corley fight. I also don't think Cotto has been in with a dangerous puncher in a long time. Margarito was more of an accumulation guy. Canelo is a question mark. Tough to know whether Cotto can take his punches or not.

it's not great. after the margarito fight, he's cowered a bit when faced with big power. he even got on his bike against mosley. when pacquiao hurt cotto in the 5th, whatever remained of the pre-margarito warrior cotto died. he's been a different fighter since.

7 or 8 out of 10. He can take good shots, but his chin definitely gets worse as he tires out.

His chin is pretty good but his face is horrible. He gets marked up, swollen, and cut no matter what.

Its underrated IMO. Mosley hit him with some big shots in there fight, Margarita hit him with plaster, and Pac hit him with Steroids. Yep. Margarito with loaded wraps could not KO Cotto. Cotto simply gassed out after a long night of swalloing his own blood and being stalked around the ring by a guy most likely high on ephedra "tea" and loaded wraps. Cotto's chin is underrated.
