Yes the guy has power and a steal chin and that's about it...Monroe is a b class fighter at best and was able to frustrate and land on GGG.
I'm not buying the whole " I want make drama" bull**** he just could not get Monroe out of there quick, and I also wish his stupid advisor would let GGG reply to the questions instead of being in his ears!!!
At this point cotto gives him a hard fight and canelo has enough pop and boxing skill to beat GGG
**** Lara would beat GGG....this is tyson syndrome 2015 where opponents feel they are beat before they fight...
He will be exposed soon....
I believe GGG is a great fighter but I think there is a "Frankie Randall"/Buster Douglas waiting for the right time! When he loses, its going to come as a surprise. The first guy who is not scared and punches back with bad intentions(not in survival mode) will surprise him and many others.
Anybody that compares golovkin with provodnikov doesnt know **** about boxing.
Lara would be running for his life if he got in the ring with GGG btw, freaking Angulo had him down twice. Golovkin would knock his chin into the 3rd row.
no doubt man provo is nothing like ggg he follows people around without cutting off the ring blocks punches with his face to get inside. where as ggg sets up his shots cuts off the ring beautifully has a good jab sets up the hook very well i mean seriously they are nothing alike
someone made this same statement last night. im sorry but anyone who thinks ggg and provo are the same fighter should never pretend to know boxing ever again. i can see why you would compare then but provo is not on ggg stratosphere. i mean seriously man if u think ggg and provo are the same thing wow

Lol Golovkin is a lot better than Provodnikov in many areas. He did get hit quite a lot vs Monroe round 4 especially but he cut off the ring expertly and closed the show.
Golovkin is way better than Provodnikov. Provodnikov doesn't even have a jab.

You are spot on. GGG is a nobody and has beaten nobody. Let him fight legitimate fighters who can hit back the we will give him respect if he earns it. He is all hype at the moment and at 33 he should have fought at least 1 legitimate fighter.
Which legitimate fighter would've fight him now? Even Al's "best" MW, Quillen says only if the time, and money is right...which basically means he's not in.
If he fights and good boy's Lee will that finally be a legitimate win for GGG at 160?
Why do people still feel Lara is a monster for? After the fight with Canelo, don't understand how he could give fits to GGG. Lara wasn't tagging him with hard shots all night,he just pushed jabs and moved. Whenever he stopped he got tagged.
GGG has much better stamina, more weapons, better footwork and heavy hands.
Lara will try and stay away, when he still gets cut off,he will try and hold on the inside. GGG will land that uppercut and goodnight

I THOUGHT I was a Golovkin skeptic but some of you guys are on another level. I'm starting to be turned into a fan just by having to think about all the ways the double skeptics are clearly wrong.
I'm not basing it on Monroe. I'm basing it on the entirety of both their careers. Golovkin doesn't have any trouble with fighters backing away from him, he has trouble when someone backs him up. Lara does not react well to pressure, and never has. Golovkin does exactly what makes Lara uncomfortable, and Lara does exactly what Golovkin likes to fight.
I don't see anyone on Golovkin' resume that can box on Lara's level.
Lara has shown he can take a punch and his piston straight left would make GGG think more than he usually does when cutting fighters down.
With Cotto and Canelo putting off the fight, Lara is the on that makes sense.
I want the fight made for peace of mind.
Alvarez and Angulo both have slow feet, but both were able to land significant shots consistently on Lara. Alvarez cut him, and Angulo dropped him twice.
Golovkin is much better than both at cutting distance and has much more power than both. Add to that Lara would be stepping up in weight and I don't give him much chance.
Lara busted up and stopped Angulo and arguably beat Canelo.
I don't think the 154-160 jump would be a problem for a career light middle.
I love watching GGG fight, but his defence is a travesty. I'm not buying that GGG allows fighters to hit him to make his fights more exciting for the fans.
I saw what both of you saw. Monroe was getting tagged at will when he was fighting on the back foot. However, Lara is not Monroe.
Lara's boxing ability is on a completely different level. You're both reaching when you say Lara wouldn't have any success boxing on the back foot based on watching Monroe getting beat up when he tried.

The only problem Golovkin had was when Monroe stood forehead to forehead with him. Lara sure as hell wouldn't do that.
yup. movement alone doesnt beat GGG. you need an in and out game and above average defense
look what angulo was able to land on Lara. He struggled.with martirosyan...
But you're saying based on Monroe giving Golovkin fits, Lara would. Monroe didn't give Golovkin any trouble at all fighting like Lara does. It wasn't until he did the exact opposite of Lara that Golovkin had any issues.
Golovkin would straight murk Lara. Easy fight.
Monroe had his success while in the pocket in the 3rd and 4th rounds.
It was when he was boxing on the backfoot in rounds 1 & 2 that he got effed up.

With the amount of success Monroe had last night, I am certain Lara would cause GGG fits.

Lara wouldn't need to stand toe to toe. He has enough ability to have success on the back foot.
I would make GGG the favourite, but it wouldn't be a walk over.
Lara would land his straight left at will for as long as the fight lasted.

The way Lara behaved when he had Canelo's power to deal with makes me think that he'd only fight GGG in a bull fighting ring.
I think Lara would have learnt from that fight and that experience would stand him in good stead against GGG.
