JAMES DEGALE (24-1, 14KOs) insists he will not buckle under the pressure of his first world title fight against Andre Dirrell (24-1, 16KOs) next week.
The London super-middleweight takes on the American for the IBF belt in Boston.
It will be the 29-year-old's debut across the Atlantic as he looks to become the first Brit to win Olympic gold and then become a bona fide professional world champion.
And 'Chunky' insists he will put in the best display of his career on the biggest night of his life.

Dirrell is slick but there's something missing. He never lived up to his potential and he's not as good as he once was. DeGale on the other hand is also slick and seems to be improving with each fight. 45/55 for DeGale.
This an excellent matchup that's going overlooked (that awful Haymon). DeGale is peaking but Dirrell isn't a pushover. I do, however, still sense some frailty in Dre based on his last bout. I wouldn't be surprised at either fighter winning.
DeGale-Ward is a must have fight after this. Finally Ward won't be worried, he won't see DeGale as a terminator robot like he does GGG and Kovalev.
Two gold medalists going at it. UK vs USA, lets get it on.
Of course if he wants that W it's going to have to be the best performance of his life.
Personally, I still haven't forgiven him for being such a Richard II during the build up to the Groves fight that it overshadowed how much of a male chicken Groves really is leading me to briefly support the fellow. Inexcusable really..
i've been wrong before but i feel like Degale is going to win this one. then the world can start looking forward to the fight it craves more than any other: Groves/Degale 2 :lol1:
I believe DeGale is one of the few SMWs who could actually give Andre Ward a hard time. He's more than ready for Dirrell. Dirrell is supremely skilled but hasn't faced anyone decent since the Abraham fight and his heart is more than questionable. It's a good time to face Dirrell.
Degale likes to sound off a whole lot. hope he doesn't underestimate Direll who is very slippery and can frustrate any fighter. been anticipating this one for a minute and it's still a toss up fight for me.
"He sounds very confident. Can't wait for this fight, should be highly competitive."
Ya it should...I just hope it doesn't end up like Dirrell/Froch. It could be competitive but very boring, with direll running alot.
