PBC on CBS viewership down from April 4th

No Pac-May boost for PBC Boxing Saturday afternoon on CBS. It had a 0.9 overnight down from the 1.1 on April 4— Sports TV Ratings (@SportsTVRatings) May 11, 2015 Canelo probably got a boost since they replayed the fight... and it was a bigger fight That is actually a good number for a Saturday afternoon boxing match.

McDonnell/Kameda was decent.... the main was not. I wonder what their next PBC on NBC is.... Garcia/Peterson surprised me numbers wise I thought it was good :dunno: Bit scrappy but both were landing and throwing.

The #'s say otherwise. What does this have to do with hating? I pointed out valid reasons why viewership is down and not where it should be. How about you read before you run in here like a Haymon esb solider defending anything that isn't pro Haymon? sarcasm .......

I'm sure Haymon thinks long term, but everyones gotta admit it was a kick in the balls for boxing to have its huge prime time network debut be a total stinker boring Adrian Broner fight, and the biggest PPV event ever, be yet another boring 9-3 Mayweather affair. I really believe a lot of people gave boxing a chance for the first time in years, but then moved on pretty quick. You just wonder how much it would have helped boxing if both events had been truly great, or even just exciting fights? Boxing putting it's worst foot forward in such high profile events, not good....

Seems as if Haymon was under the impression that the public was so desperate for boxing to be back on network television that they would tune in to just about anything he threw out there. The main problem I'm seeing is how its unorganized. You have different networks showing fights on different times and on different days. The average boxing fan doesn't even know who's showing what on what day and on what channel. I sure as hell don't. Didn't even know there was a fight on this past wknd other than Canelo/Kirkland. He should have focused on bringing boxing back on one network and build on that instead of being all over the place like how it is now. I agree. The umbrella was spread out over too many networks for casuals to remember the staple time and days. Had this just been NBC or CBS every Saturday, it may have done better. Even as a boxing fan, I can't keep up with which fights PBC is showing on which network and which date.

Yea, exactly. He would need the best fighters from TR and GB as well, he would need Canelo and Lemeuix, all the exciting hard hitters. And make them fight, every single event has two mouthwatering events. But thats not possible. We got some good matchups already, but nothing enticing enough. When boxing was last on network TV, it was Lenoard, Duran, Hagler, and Hearns. Can Haymon bring that kinda excitement? Nope. That's why I never thought PBC would work, Haymon fighters like him because he can get them easy fights with a lot of money, but while he is good for fighters he is terrible for boxing. Some on this forum think people on here are "haters" for calling out Haymon, but if you think people here are harsh, the casuals are much worse it only takes one bad fight to make them give up on boxing. It doesn't help that a lot of Haymon's fighters are safety first and boring.

Your TV venture should have increasing ratings, not decreasing, and especially if its so low to begin with. Haymon needs to put on better fights. That is the only way it can work. I mean, it was headlined by Omar Figueroa. I don't expect a ton of people to watch.

Maybe, I think they start afternoon on Sundays though. They might be sat afternoons too, i haven't been watching There was two games on Saturday. A morning/afternoon game and a evening game...However I don't know if they actually conflicted with the times

1 Million for that Card is Solid! Wasn't a big Card at all it was mostly a showcase for Figuaroa and Tomoki Kameda. I enjoyed the card, both fights was entertaining, Afternoon Start is a bit weird but it is growing on me. Too early to worry about Ratings, the more good fights they have and the better match ups they present, the higher the ratings will go. But so far it seems like NBC will get all the bigger fights. They haven't even started on ESPN/ABC Yet, fans have to give thing time to grow. We love boxing and know these guys but it is MILLIONS who never heard of these guys and know nothing bout them and is just now starting to learn about them so they're going to need to see them a few times before becoming Regular Fans

Too bad ratings are dropping as the cards are putting on more action fights.
