Carl Froch's post fight summary was pretty spot on IMO:
'How I seen it was an absolute one-sided whooping by Mayweather. I only gave Manny Pacquiao two rounds, I can't see how you can score it much different.
That was a boxing purists performance. If you love boxing and understand what's going on, you know the score. What Floyd Mayweather did there was totally nullify Manny Pacquiao.
I said earlier that I was mesmerized by what Mayweather was doing, I can now understand why he's unbeaten and why he's so good. He's so technically proficient, he's got such a fast jab, his counter punching and then you've got the movement. When he's backed up you can't hit him, he just slides and gets out.
Mayweather took control early on by not letting Pacquiao get any work done at all. When Manny Pacquiao tried to get something done, he walked into that right hand.'
Exactly.
I kept reading "Floyd has never seen anyone with Pacquaio before"
I constantly found myself reminding people that Pacquaio has never seen anyone like Floyd.
I also kept reading "he's never faced anyone with Pacquaio's speed"
Well atleast Floyd has fought a guy with speed. Pacquaio never has.
Both showed on fight night.
A no jab havin' Pacquiao, with a 5 inch reach disadvantage, shouldn't that have been enough to know Pacquiao was fucked? We kept talking range control but no one listened and so here we are.
That's the thing. Floyd has seen speed before. Manny hasn't faced anything like Floyd in his entire career. And it showed. He had Pac figured out in round 1. After round 3 I knew the fight was over.

I can't. I called 117-111 when the contract was signed.
Not me.
He actually did better than I expected even though I scored it wide.
He had a few moments of success with counters, didn't expect that
i.....i cant....i cant believe im reading this. I must say some of you pac fans are exactly what i thought you were; pac fans not boxing fans. But some of you, just some of you are really showing character even more than pacquiao himself after his loss
:lol1::lol1:
I could have taken the route of some fanboys here and used manny's shoulder as an excuse but I don't think that played a factor. Pac just didn't have many opportunities to unleash an attack. Had he, I don't see how a bad shoulder would have held him back. He had no problem letting it go the few times he had Floyd against the ropes. His low output was due to Floyd being on the defense and Pac being wary of his counter right hands.

it's funny because i can't help but think of froch vs dirrell
froch won that fight easily, All established pundits and neutrals scored it to froch...Ironically despite Dirrels running, holding and falling over, he was busted up and froch was unmarked...
He's been lying about that since the fight happened and I don't even know where he got that from. If he can pull up the post I'll gladly never post here again. That's how sure I am that he's a liar.
It was you. The thread just got deleted or swept into a master thread at some point.
No one promised the paying public that they were going to see Hagler/Hearns. No one goes to a baseball game expecting to see a 16-inning game with a final score of 19-18. Anyone who knows anything about boxing knows how Mayweather fights. Mayweather fought the same way he always does and he won, like he always does. If anyone who paid for it is dissapointed in the product, they have no one to blame but themselves.
Thats bullshit. Paying customers do have a right to complain, and especially given the magnitude of the fight and when the fighters are earning that much out of them they have a right to expect a bit more. For a so-called 'superfight' it was an absolute stinker. They're the ones selling the product and demanding extra for it, absolutely the punter has a right to expect more than that crap.
i think the boxing paying public is the one that got their ass whooped by that eyesore fight

Froch was completely in love with Mayweather by the end of the night. You could tell he was mesmerised by Floyd's skills.
Froch was still feeling himself over Mayweather acknowledging him during an interview at the weigh-in.
Can we just all agree it was easier than most all of us thought it would be???
I thought it would be 9-3 when it was signed so it was about right for me.
Wow he said that? That fight wasnt remotely close.

That's the guy who said Rigo-Donaire should've been at least a draw for Donaire. He has no idea what he's watching .
