Clearly the greatest of this era hands down and i think it is safe to say he is a top 20 ATG atleast. The man has 5 titles in 2 divisions right now and is a 2 division lineal champion right now.AMAZING
To be fair, that's a testament to his talent. He would always be favourite by virtue of his talent.
Ultimately, the guy is the best fighter of his generation. We all need to accept it. For all his faults, he's a truly great boxer.
My only beef with him is the god-awful style he uses these days which has rendered these huge events - DLH/Canelo/Pac - into complete borefests. The dude is basically playing the system.
How about you tell those fighters to actually try and beat Floyd rather than just be happy they are getting a check.
Hatton, cotto, Zab, cho chop, genaro(rip), gatti (rip)-these men fought with honor, dignity and courage. If the guys you mentioned had, there would be no issues.
For a fact he'll go down as ATG, but possibly in the same area as Marciano and Calzaghe.
You're delusional. Floyd is already held in a much higher regard than both. Calzaghe is laughable. That fool has like 3-4 good wins. Floyd has like 20.
Another mediocre win for Jr. over a blown up light welterweight out of his prime.
Not impressed with the win but I see the potential Jr. has.
:thinking::thinking:
The Manny stan that has been saying that Manny would beat Floyd for YEARS.
Great fighter, but top 20 is pushing it. His biggest win is a fight that should have happened years ago. One of the greatest defensive fighters for sure.
Pacquiao is an ATG and was #2-3 P4P coming into this fight. This was universally regarded as still two of the best fighters in the world. Should have happened years ago, don't blame Floyd for it not happening in 2010. We ALL know why it didn't.
I'd place him somewhere from 21-25 all time.
Great fighter, but top 20 is pushing it. His biggest win is a fight that should have happened years ago. One of the greatest defensive fighters for sure.
10 years from now we might look back and think that Floyd's best win of his career was Canelo Alvarez. Alvarez is a young bull in his prime with over 40 fights, he could easily clean out 154 and 160 over the next 5 years and be an all-time great himself.
Corrales and Oscar were great wins, Oscar looked very good in that fight. Cotto was a great win, Hatton was a great win.
That's the thing, Floyd has fought a lot of guys the haters said he never would. He made a fight with Cotto literally days after Cotto left top ranked. He fought Mosely at 154 after Mosely looked ready to clean that division out. And then he fought a young bull in Canelo who was undefeated. Then they finally made the Pacquaio fight. All of these fights are ones his detractors said he would never take. Hatton beats Tzsyu and calls Floyd out and he fights an undefeated Hatton. Marquez publicly calls him and out and he fights and shuts him out.
Honestly, the only fight I think he had a realistic shot of making that he didn't make was Margarito, he fought Baldimir instead because he was the lineal champion and it made the Oscar fight more likely. But then Margarito turned out to be a cheater anyways, but Floyd fought Mosely just after Mosely crushed Margarito anyway.
Paul Williams? If he would have kept winning he might have been a big enough name eventually.
I think Floyd is top 10, anyone who has him outside the top 15 must really think this entire era was weak, anyone who has him outside the top 20 is simply hating. He's 48-0 and 25-0 in championship fights. 25-0!
not more of these threads now smh, like we needed more praise floyd threads
did u guys really think after all the ish we endured we wouldnt rub it in? Thing is we arent going crazy with the threads about floyd its usually the haters, and if pac man won there would be endless threads
