It's getting disgusting at this point. Like we are desperately trying to seek their acceptance. After every fight it's "Oh no...what will the casuals think"
Casual fans have done nothing for this sport but put money in Mayweather and Pacquiaos pockets. It's the only fighters they know about and its the only fights they watch. When they don't get their desired results, they degrade our sport.
We say "casuals want excitement".....they weren't watching Matthysse vs Provo, their not supporting GGG, Kovalev or Thurman....WE are.
We say casuals " keep boxing alive "...really? More like they keep the only 2 fighters they know about relevant. We are the one's that built Manny from " The Destroyer" to Pac man and Floyd from "Pretty Boy" to Money. They probably didn't even watch Pac vs Ledwaba, Barrera, etc. Or Floyd vs Corrales.
I welcome new fans to the sport who are willing to learn and make an effort to watch new fighters. But these fake non-boxing fans who only come around once per year to bring negativity can go to hell.
I was thinking about this today.
Boxing is dying. But not as they say. Its dying because new fans want to see more of a fight than a boxing match.
The art is dying.
I think people worry about the casuals because they know that casuals are the key to making the sport mainstream again
That said, I think the days of boxing being a mainstream sport to the public is probably gone forever and not coming back. It's a niche sport and that's just the way it is. But that's okay. Boxing doesn't need to be mainstream.
And I agree, the casuals can eat a fat dick.
Like it or not, casuals subsidize all of the other fights we "hardcore" fans want to see. A lot of that money from Floyd-Pac, (even after the shysters raid through it) will go toward future fights/fighters.
Believe me, I get what you mean, I won't play dumb..,I suffer through the same cringeworthy discussions you all do, but I still welcome these people to boxing and would hope they stick around and want to learn more.
As a hardcore fan I was probably more upset at the fight than even they were - a **** fight that wasn't worth the money people paid. We paid $500 MILLION, they have a right to complain.
The average person is extremely dumb and just likes whatever you market at them
Why else would Floyd/Manny be the highest grossing boxing match in world history when it was practically universal knowledge among "boxing people" that it would be a horrible boring fight that happened 6 years too late to mean anything
Really unless you're in the promotion industry and the check you cut is paid by the "casuals", why would you care how popular it is?
The worst thing about it is a toss up between that you really think your funny, and that you think your unbelievable opinions wash with anybody of any relevance at all!
Again... Unbelievable!
How would you know about what people of relevance think? You can hardly walk and chew gum at the same time junior
It makes me laugh, the money comes from turning casuals into hardcore fans. Hardcore boxing fans though are all jack asses to casual fans though (myself included).
How often do we totally clown dudes on here that kind of deserve it because they want to act like they are Micheal Katz when they have been watching boxing off and on for a year.
Casual fans are like children they should be seen and not heard~

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
Yeah, **** the casuals. I don't understand why their opinion sshould carry any weight.
if profit over a long term didn't guide boxing careers, you'd have a point.

Good post man!
Because without casuals boxing wouldn't even be a televised sport here in the U.S.
That's a lie. Casuals probably can't name 3 PBC fighters and they are on network TV. Casuals probably can't name one HBO fighter besides Canelo and they generate a million plus views. Casuals kill boxing by driving up PPV fights and making the sport dependent on 1 or 2 events per year.
Agreed
But Floyd PAC was boring
it's Marquez's fault that Pac made it boring....Floyd has ALWAYS been the dude who shuts down his opponents....he wasn't the ACTION hero going into the fight...Pac was....the Ghost of KO6 appeared in Pac's head after the first counter right he was fed...Floyd did what he usually does...NOTHING different
Pac was supposed to cause Floyd problems he's never faced but the Ghost of KO6 is alive and real...just like most boxing people said it would be....there's no recovering from such a brutal KO like Marquez put on Pac
Yeah, **** the casuals. I don't understand why their opinion sshould carry any weight.

But Floyd PAC was boring
okay but do u all have to complain about it day after day and make threads about how it ruined boxing and action fights are so much better?
Agreed
But Floyd PAC was boring
It should have never gotten to this point though. The fight was as big as it was because casual fans only know of 2 fighters. So they base their entire opinions on boxing on the 1 or 2 fights they watch every year.
Junior you mad because I didn't pay mama the alimony last month? guess they shut down the internet again, sorry about that....I promise the lights wll be on in mama's basement, your dwelling again, and I will take you to the picnic for retards with very special needs.....just like I promised.
Now go tell us how Chris the fat areolla would be a world champion in the 1920s again!! we love that one!!!!
