Surprised I didn't see this here soon as I got back
Tidbits I saw while reading
In its anti-trust argument, Golden Boy is expected to contend that Haymon is using his monopoly as a boxing manager***8212;Haymon represents more than 150 fighters, legally creating a vastly larger market share than any other manager***8212;to create another monopoly for promoting TV fights. The Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act, commonly known as the Ali Act, expressly prohibits managers from acting as promoters. While other promoters have accused Haymon of violating the Ali act in the past, legal sources briefed on the lawsuit believe a recent article in Sports Business Journal on the PBC***8212;in which Haymon Boxing executive Ryan Caldwell was quoted about the PBC model***8212;strengthened Golden Boy***8217;s case.
California Unfair Competition laws prohibit fraudulent or misleading business practices. It is expected that Golden Boy will cite violations of the Ali Act again here; in addition, per legal sources familiar with the lawsuit, Golden Boy could cite article 396 of California***8217;s Code of Regulations that prohibits ***8220;any member, stockholder, director or officer thereof or matchmaker or assistant matchmaker shall act directly or indirectly as manager of a boxer***8221; and seek a TRO following a preliminary hearing and a permanent injunction if they win the case.
I***39;m in agreement with the ABC***39;s request to the US Attorney General to investigate Haymon. The time is right to investigate him & all of us!— Paco Valcárcel, Esq. (@PacoValcarcel) April 30, 2015
The @WorldBoxingOrg is willing to cooperate with any investigation of the US Attorney General for the betterment of the sport of boxing.— Paco Valcárcel, Esq. (@PacoValcarcel) April 30, 2015
As discussed in our WBO Convention in October, Ali Act should define the "advisor" figure and penalties increased to 5 years in prison/250k.— Paco Valcárcel, Esq. (@PacoValcarcel) April 30, 2015
I thought the situation with Khan was still up in the air.
Khan thinks he's a free agent, but GBP might not.
Thought there was some speculation it could lead to a lawsuit like with Chavez Jr. and Jhonny Gonzalez.
He wasn't part of the initil lot that Haymon bought and he was claiming to be one before the Alexander fight
I'm sure Oscar is fine, he got well over $10 million to not promote guys like LSC and Khan.

Oscar better be cool before haymon takes some more of his fighters

Can't get the link to the letter to open, but that letter does seem to add a new wrinkle into this.
Al Haymon is the L. Ron Hubbard of boxing and the PBC is his Scientology. It would not surprise me to see his fighters signing 'billion year' contracts sometime down the road.
It is so nice to see my own argument, that I have been making from day one of the PBC, put into proper legalese with all the necessary documentation required.
Thank you!
likewise, but Im sure we are still going to be called "haters" lol
read pages 3 and 4 of the letter from ABC chairman Tim Luekenoff to United States Attorney General Loretta Lynch. It outlines exactly what I was saying......

Wow, looks like Oscar is really going to try and make life for Haymon hell. Can't blame him for the shat they tried to pull.
Wonder if Schafer is named in this case as well

I think GBP doing this so much in the media suggests they have an argument that wont stand up in court so they want to shame Haymon in public as much as possible.
U never been to a boxing gym tho!! Have you ??? Your a Typical public relation employee posting B.u.L.L$.H.I.T about a sport you never engaged in!! There is a reason there is no fantasy boxing!!
I have as it happens, multiple times as a old friend used to compete at a national level. That's not the point though, I'm a boxing fan just like you who wants to see the best match-ups. If all you're worried about is a fighter's wage what's the point in following the actual sport (rhetorical question).
I think people around here use the word monopoly too too loosely. Neither PBC nor UFC are anywhere near being true monopolies under US law.
True,,, I use it a lot, but only in terms of being considered number 1 with no rivals,, much like NBA or nfl
I can't think of a better word
Let him be, if he wants to pretend to be a spiritual pseudo-accountant for strangers, it's his lookout.
