I got myself excited about fighting Ward again but, dare I say it, he just didnt fancy it. Ward could have come over to England, made a career-high payday, and backed up his mouth. He said he beat me easily last time, that he only used one hand, and all the rest of it. So why avoid a rematch, if Im such an easy option?
Sure, hes had a long layoff but how many times has Floyd Mayweather come back after time off and faced the best? Ward is one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world, who regards himself as a magnificent athlete, so why not do the training, do the sparring, and get yourself ready? Ive had almost a year out myself and would only be looking to come back against a strong opponent.
Ward said he wouldnt fight in Nottingham City Ground and thats a venue which holds 35,000 fans. The problem is hes not big enough to fill Wembley Stadium and the biggest broadcasting networks arent interested in showing his fights. Hes got Paul Smith next, who is coming off two great fights with Arthur Abraham, so hopefully Paul can give him something to think about. All Im saying is, he could have been in against me and had the opportunity to regain the top spot.

This is a good Froch interview btw, he talks Golovkin, DeGale, Dirrell, Hopkins, Murray, Kessler and Chavez Jr
I still think the rematch will happen.
Froch can't retire without trying avenge his loss to Ward.
And now that Ward has his promoter stuff worked out he will figure out he can't make more money with any other opponent.
I don't care about Froch's whining, he got his ass handled easily first time against Ward, it was literally NOTHING to do with the fight was in the USA.
115-113 hardly getting schooled is it.......
This fight would never happen again, ward already fought Froch. I don't see the point of a rematch, if it happens here then why not but to be honest what's the point? Same out come.

Guess ward is not that confident in his skills, all fights must be on BET and in oakland and all ref and judges must be black and the venue must accept ebt for admission fees aswell.
How come you get away with posting racist crap on this forum so often?
Ward wouldn't of faced Froch for his comeback fight. Look at the guys he was suggesting to HBO for his last appearance in the ring.
That's why Smith said that Ward's team have been trying to make a fight with him for a while.
As for the Wembley suggestion. Honestly, it was crazy.
Ward is fighting Paul Smith at 172lbs, and I'm wondering if he could have made 168 for Froch, even if he'd wanted to.

What Carl Froch is trying to say is that the best way for them to maximize their earnings is to fight in Nottingham. Because he can guarantee a 35,000 sell out. Plus the fight will certainly capture the attention of HBO and sky. It's a no brainer.
A purse bid here would fail. Obviously it would guarantee the fight, but if Ward's side wins the purse bid they can't guarantee the type of money that Froch can. Because he can't sell out an arena like Froch.
Last time they fought in the US it was a disaster as far as attendance and ratings are concerned. Granted it was in Atlantic City. But Even if the fight is in Oakland it's not going to generate the same amount of money as a fight in Nottingham.
What I took from both of them is that Froch is willing to fight Ward anywhere as long as he can maximize his profits. There's no problem with that. It would be a big fight, and he wants to get the most out of it at this stage in his career. Fighting at Nottingham would certainly do that.
Ward on the other hand doesn't want to fight in Nottingham, despite the fact that he will get the most money he's ever made in his career, because he's scared to death of getting robbed. You don't want your biggest pay day ever because you're worried about getting robbed against a guy who's fading and who you've already beat comfortably 4 years ago?
To me that's a little ridiculous.
I don't think Ward is afraid of Froch by any stretch, but he's making it harder for the fight to happen and then he's calling Froch out for ducking him. When in reality Froch holds the cards here as he's a bigger draw in his country than Ward is in his country and a fight between the two in Nottingham is better for both.
After see what happened to his good friend Andre Dirrell in Nottingham...I don't blame Ward for NOT wanting to go to Nottingham. People complain about American and how people get robbed but some of these others Countries are FAR WORSE. I still don't know why one round the Ref Deducted a point from Dirrell without even a Warning :dunno:
Me personally I say Ward should go because I think he would dominate so bad that they wouldn't be able to Rob Him without making Froch and Themselves look bad...However, IT IS NOT REQUIRED for Ward to go to Nottingham and prove anything because he already have win over Froch.
As for the Big Stadiums...I'm not all that impress, you pack in 35K yet you don't break any Gate Records or anything which tells me that is just for SHOW and the Tickets are likely DIRT CHEAP to fill up a stadium. Ward will make his money regardless because he fights in America something will come along and it could be GGG and/or Kovalev that will ultimately be BIGGER than the Froch Fight in Nottingham. Froch is the one who Career is closing, while Ward is entering his PRIME. Let HBO keep building up these Boogieman and once Ward get them in that ring that is when Ward will become the STAR and the DRAW that everybody saying he will "NEVER BE"! I heard this about Mayweather as well before the Oscar Fight..."Mayweather Is Good But He Will Never Be As Big Of A Star Or Draw As Oscar" "Mayweather Did Not Win A Gold Medal So He Will Never Be A Megastar In Boxing Because He Did Not Win Gold" well we can official so those people where Wrong and Larry Merchant was one of those Critics
"Andre beat Froch with a broken hand!"
There was nothing wrong with his hand at the start of the fight. If he broke it, he broke it on Froch's head, and he didn't even make The Cobra blink!
Let the fight go up for Bid and whoever win the BID that is where they fight.
Very simple solution instead of this Tug Of War. Instead he allowed his belt to be taken away because they didn't want to do that.
You lost the first fight, Revenge is something you go get, it doesn't come to your front door. Froch wasn't Robbed in America or anything like that, he got beat with 1 Hand by the BETTER FIGHTER!
Oakland, Vegas, Nottingham, Mars, Venus, Saturn...doesn't matter, Froch can't beat Ward and Him and Hearn knows it so they NEED this fight in Nottingham just to have a Chance by Corruption!

Froch is bitter because Ward embarrassed him with one hand. He wanted Ward only in Nottingham because he knows 1) this is a place where they can rob him - the same way they robbed Dirrell - 2) Ward would not accept. He never wanted this rematch because he knows he cannot win. Ward is his daddy.
Not surprised. Ward didn't even want to come to Copenhagen and face the retired Kessler, so why would he want Froch in Nottingham?
Of course he didn't and now he is facing Smith in jOakland.
What a joke. Froch got clowned by an injured Ward. How shameful talk sht now. Carl hasn't taken any big challenges since the Ward fight, he's just continues to run his mouth. He's one of these guys I want to like but he just btches way too much.
Whats the matter with Andre? Doesn't want to go to a place where if Froch manages to last the fight....pissing blood for a week probably, Ward will get jacked by the corrupt judges...I would not fight Froch in Nottingham either.
First off who is Froch to dictate? the first fight was not even close!
Second off The fight should take place in a neutral venue.
Froch knows that if he does not have the judges he does not have a chance in hell. Ward is the dominant fighter at this weight, when did mayweather start giving rematches? Froch had his chance and it was not even close.
Should hold the fight in Macau. That would solve everyone's problems. Think Ward would go for it? LOLOLOLOL
Call ward delusional
But not scared
He was still willing to go to England
He SAID he would go to England but he knew when he said it that he would not have to go. That is hardly being willing. I'm willing to take a one way space trip to Mars and never come back to earth. Now I know that I will never be offered such an opportunity so it's safe to say I would accept it.
See how that works?

on mars it would be close....the change in gravity pull, Mars being slightly less than Earth sans an atmosphere, would produce more leaping hooks to the body for Ward so Froch may want to stick to Robin Hood land...with Venus? if one believes the theory that increased melatonin would give slightly better sun protection then Ward bests Froch by.....1/1000th of a second and his ashes are the winning ones....Saturn is a toss up. Frankly whatever man brings the better coat, solar panels and space ship wins.
Nottingham is a place for pufters and Froch only wants to fight there because he is a pufter.
Ward was silly to think this fight could sell out Wembley. If he wanted to fight in London though he could have requested to hold it at the 02 Arena, where Froch fought Kessler in 2013. That was a great atmosphere from what I recall and would give Froch a home fight of sorts but still far from his hometown, similar to the Oakland and Atlantic City situation for Ward in 2011.
Just seems Ward is content on doing what he is doing though...
