It doesn't matter because the character that he has sold has made him millions. He did it all for a reaction he is getting it but is getting rich in the process

Just because the racism that Ali faced was more overt, acceptable and institutionalized does not mean that Floyd does not face any at all. A couple of coward trolls on Twitter and YouTube dropping N bombs and making monkey references from their mothers basement is not the same as having "whites only" bathrooms and restaurants and being hosed down in a silent protest. If Twitter and YouTube existed back in those days I could only imagine what reading comments on boxing forums and YouTube pages would look like.

I find it ironic that so many of the closeted bigots, racists and prejudiced clowns are posting in this thread like they know ANYTHING about what African American men go through on an everyday basis. With that being said, what I or Floyd go through is NOTHING like the segregated south of the 1950s, which is what Ali grew up in. His level of hate and racism is sort of like comparing Broner and Floyd. Totally different levels. Ignorant statement from Floyd.

Ali had to deal with so much more than just racism so I don't think you can really compare the eras Ali and Floyd exist. They both face a lot of racism but its very different. Ali dealt with racism, religious persecution, and persecution for his refusal to go to war. His brashness caused a backlash but it wasn't the primary reason he was hated. It was much more overt. Floyd deals with racism on Social media in the same way ALi dealt with it in his face, but he faces no political or religious backlash. He is hated primarily because of his embracing a particular caricature and his brashness.

I wish I could say I was surprised at the people agreeing with Mayweather now that I glanced at a few other pages. I really hope Mayweather pays these people for all the work they put in.

Unlike the other on topic thread here, this one is certainly not true. Ali was a racist extremist but he himself was also persecuted obviously. Floyd has encountered no such racism at all! In fact although he himself has never to my knowledge inclined anything racist, he has spawned the most racist sect of the boxing world and puts his head in the sand about it. Admittedly he doesn't have a choice about that because these guys constitute his only fans.

I think he might be right, what has africa ever done for him? at least they open their arms to ali but they dont do shit for mayweather.

this is what i don't get about floyd and some of his fans. It being an act or not, floyd chose to behave like a douche in public. I believed he said something like "Doesn't matter if they pay me to lose. As long as they pay" or something along those lines. However, he and his fans complain about his "haters". If he's going to be an arse, then at least own up to it. He's in the twilight of his career... He's made his bed and he's afraid to sleep on it, especially knowing that he's about to lose that 0. Typical victim mentality, blame it on racism!
