I actually feel sorry for this guy. I was never a Chavez jr fan. I root for his opponent almost all of the time. Martinez, lee, fonfara etc. But the look on his face walking back to his corner at the end of every round, to me, showed someone who was already defeated. I think living up to that family name has taken its toll on him and feel he should really consider what he wants from his career. Maybe it's time to hang em up? What say you all?
Hard to feel sorry for someone that has made so much with so little dedication or skill.
^^^^^^^This..
There is a reason many trainer's pass up on training him. This dude has a serious deficit of a good work ethic /etiquette.
Right now there's a hungry fighter in gym training his a s s off with three times the heart, skill, and dedication and will never get the opportunity to showcase his talent because we have money hungry promoters /advisors investing in spoiled scrubs with a famous last name.
My heart goes out to the "no name " fighter's that are 10 times worthy of recognition /spotlight but never get the chance.
So do I feel sorry for this bum?
You do the math...
This young man is delusional and the biggest "hype job" EVER in boxing!
He can't box or fight he has no visable skills or natural talents.
He showed heart and courage as he was getting battered by a good boxer. The weight problem is a huge problem because he can't make 160 anymore and at 175 he has NO power! I doubt 168 is an option because he has to drain to get there and replenishing 20+ pounds is not a safe progression each fight.
He has no basic skills and he is a D fighter getting paid A rated fighter money.
The promotion company needs to rethink their options before this young man gets seriously hurt. Promoting off his fathers laurels should be over by now!

Jr has some Real thinking to do . With his lack of dedication and his belief that he's an elite fighter who belongs in there with the other top names , jr might get hurt ... if he doesn't quit on his stool first .
Feel bad that he has the burden of being the son of Chavez Sr. Don't feel bad for him because he took a loss. Fighters lose, that's the way it goes. And they especially lose when they don't fully dedicate themselves to the sport like Jr has shown time and time again.
Feeling sorry for him does him no good. He's delusional, and so is his dad, but atleast he had skills. His brother seems to be cut from the same mold of Jr. He should retire or continue to make a mockery of the sport, picking another catchweightclass between 172 and 168. His crutch, chin, only works against foes he heavily outweighs.
Nah he can fight on. Just don't go a lb above 168.
I mean, this guy was a light middleweight and a middleweight not too long ago.
dfuq is he doing at light heavyweight? And it's not like Fonfara is a bum, he's a quality fighter - So i'll give him his props, but how do you go from looking like shyt against Vera and fighting like 3 times in 4 years or something like that and jump in with a pretty good light heavy, when you're clearly not a light heavy?
The kid has some talent. What he doesn't have is good discipline or management.
I think the kid believed his chin was his ace in the hole that would get him out of trouble every time. Tonight he discovered different. Dude quit on stool tonight, that's a big no-no for Mexicans. I think that is what will hurt his popularity the most.
He can still make a lot of money fighting TBAs in Mexico then maybe transition into some "boxing personality" role but yeah his suck factor relative to his dad is only surpassed by sugar Shane's kid.
