The time is now, man. Golden Boy is in rough waters and doesnt have a lot of names, and Oscar has as big a name as you can get. Yes, he is shot, but that doesn't mean he couldn't come back and give the fans a couple more fights against the right kind of opponents. And that's why I'm making this thread, because the fights are there.
Felix Trinidid - Apparently he lost all his money. A rematch even in this day and age would be huge. Old heads who haven't watched a fight in 15 years would tune in.
Chavez mother****in' Junior - 1 million+ PPV buys. Period. Oscar likely gets his ass kicked, but Oscar has never been scared to take a loss and if Bryan Vera can almost pull it off, a shot ass Oscar definitely can.
Margarito also apparently needs money. Id watch that shit and so would you.
No, these aren't world title-worthy fights. Theyre nostalgia fights, but theyre all winnable for Oscar and theyd do Gold Boy some serious good at the moment.
Come on, Golden Boy. Lay off the 19 year-olds and blow for a couple months and get in the gym.

Not a chance. Guy is 42 and hasn't fought in almost 7 years. And with his abuses of alcohol and drugs since before he was done his body wouldn't respond. He never had the discipline of a Bernard Hopkins to fight that long.
Plus if he did try it would be for the money and a ton of younger fighters would want to get him in the ring to have his name on their resume and he would get hurt badly. Golden Boy is going through a transition but Oscar is still rich as hell, he doesn't need the money.
he should come out if it will help him stay away from drugs
not sure if he is clean
there was a thread few days ago saying he is back on it
but bernard hopkins said he only stayed with golden boy because oscar assured him he wouldnt go back to that lifestyle
but not sure if it would help
he was drinking alcohol in camp in big bear for manny pacquaio fight
If it was some senior tour type stuff I could feel it, I don't know that being involved in that would be a good look for his company since that really is not prime product.
However, all publicity is good publicity and if the card can make money that goes help the bottom line.
I agree. A lot of the Victoria Secret models have retired, there's definitely opportunities in lingerie. I've heard fishnets are making a come back.

smh
it would be neat if DLH made his ring walk in lingerie and with a midget butler walking right in front of him leading him to the ring with a plate of coke
while the mgm blasts taylor swift
Best jab in the history of the sport?
Lenox lewis?
Wlad?
Hitman hearns?
Winky wright was kicking ass with just a jab
Not sure if your serious here, Hearns is comparable but Wlad? Lewis? Winky Wright? Oscar had a better jab than all of them and it wasn't really close. The fact that you mention Wlad makes me think you are trolling.
Golden Boy walks out of a coffin and stops Canelo late.
You must be new too boxing Winky wright beat Shane Mosley and tito Trinidad with only a jab. Not only was the jab winky's best punch, it was his only punch.
Lennox lewis jab was also his best weapon.
Where was this oscar jab when he lost too Shane mosley? The same Mosley that winky beat up with the jab.
Don't get me wrong. Oscar had a great jab, but too say the best jab in the history of the sport is the definition of trolling.
Hearns jab is by far better than oscar's.
If Golden Boy was serious, I mean serious about it, I would support it 100%. Yes, he is well past it, but if he got into prime shape and got into the gym he could still win against the best in any division he stepped into. Too many young cats judge DLH off of the forgettable dehydrated performance that gave Manny an easy night, but prime DLH is a monster, power in both hands, the best jab in the history of the sport, a high ring IQ, a warriors mentality, a natural draw in all aspects of the game, a walking legend. If he was 100% serious he would be a threat to anyone.

Oscar would beat the crap out of Canelo if they fought right now.
Golden Boy walks out of a coffin and stops Canelo late.
I like Oscar, but he has never been the same since that brutal pegging in suite 515 at the MGM Grand.
He's going to carry that ass assault with him for life.
You don't seem to realize how hard training for and fighting in main event fights is. When you had a long career of it you might not want to go back to it. There is the risk of brain damage that increases when you are older. Oscar was not one of those fighters who aged well. He can't fight that well any more. Chavez would beat the hell out of him. Osacar is the smart one while guys like Hopkins who are rick fight when the shouldn't. It may catch up with them. Floyd Paterson seemed fine and then all those fights he had in his old age caught up with him and killed him. One hard fight too many can ruin a guy. Oscar is filthy rick and his company only needs his guidance not his participation as an active fighter.
Oscar Dela Hoya vs Shane Mosley 3 would draw a lot of attention, can be a good 10 round fight but I think Mosley would win cuz he's always in shape and always sparring even after he retired, I bet Dela Hoya didn't even run half a mile since his retirement in 2008.
I would pay to see a 10 round rematch between Trinidad and Dela Hoya, they're both not so old (42 years old).
If Oscar gets in good shape he can be competitive against some guys out there in the 154 lbs division, Oscar can put on a good fight against slow guys like Angulo and Tapia, also the loser of Trout vs Mundine could be a good opponent for Oscar but I don't know if it's worth the comeback financially.
