It's not that Algieri is a bad fight/opponent. IMO, Algieri would beat Broner. It's just that it follows a pattern of him choosing light hitting guys who aren't true welterweights. When Brook is calling you out, it makes it worse.

Calls out Mayweather,Pacquiao,Cotto,Bradley,Marquez,Broner etc. Refuses to fight Kell Brook ( A huge fight in the Uk, biggest Payday for Khan). Chooses to fight Algeri instead (Chris Fooking Algeri, coming off a Loss after 8 KD's). SHAMEFUL. Embarrassed to be a Khan fan once, Hope he gets KTFO :banghead::burnup::nonono: :mad: Bradley has never once mentioned fighting Khan, in fact he turned it down...something JMM did too. Khan never called out Broner but vice versa and Khan said the fight can only happen at 147 which I doubt Broner wants. May/Pac/Cotto are unrealistic for May...especially considering Khan said 154 for Cotto and Miguel looks to be defending his MW crown next. So that leaves Brook, it's a fight I think Brook wins but it's not that big just yet and that's a simple fact. Khan wants to wait till the end of the year at the very least to see how the May/Pac situation develops. So why would he waste time trying to negotiate a Brook fight?

Khan is playing it safe till he gets a huge fight, khan himself knows and his handlers know one he gets rocked and exposed again theirs no comeback trail for him that its, game over.

I love how even Khan's biggest nuthuggers are calling him out on this fight. It's a step in the right direction. This fight is a waste of everyone's time. It's a waste of Khan and Algieri's times, it's a waste of promoter's times, and it's a waste of the fans' time.
