Even thought his opponent basically said because he is Black, he has no heart.
It's swept under the rug when fighters such as Jhonny Gonzalez claims he has a bigger heart than his African opponent based on his Mexican heritage.
Yet Adrien Broner gets FINED when he says playfully "Anybody CAN get it...MexiCAN, AfriCAN.."
If BHops says "a white boy will never beat me" he gets chastised by media and internet boxing forum trolls alike.
When will the double standards towards AA boxers end?
How am I supposed to feel as an AA when I hear Mexican fighters continue to say that Blacks weren't gifted with as much HEART and TOUGHNESS as them?
How am I supposed to process that?
And why was this thread deleted initially? Can the truth not be spoken here? Do the mods on this site have a racial agenda??
If not then leave this damn thread alone, or create a new thread highlighting Jhonny Gonzalez racist comments this past Saturday night.
lol i'm half black and i didn't take that from gonzalez's comments at all. looks, mexicans take pride in their raza and often times it may feel as though they're downing other races when they do so, but they don't mean it that way. and like another poster said, if these are taken as racial swipes, then were gonna have to stop calling them no defense having come forward one dimensional brawlers. no double standard, russ beat him so aint nothing to it.
He apparently said that when Johnny said he has more Heart than Johnny because he's Mexican... meaning that Gary has less heart because....he's black.
That's exactly what Johnny meant. Good catch OP

when did he say that

Heart ain't got nothing to do with fighting style. Typical dudes would say John Molina has heart but Guillermo Rigo doesn't. But when Rigo gets dropped, he raises up and delivers beatdowns. Molina got hit in the face by Broner and stopped throwing punches.
Lara got dropped by Angulo. Got off the canvas twice and fought. Angulo takes a straight left hand to the eye socket and quits.
Victor Ortiz...exciting fighter....quit
Robert Guerrero....action fighter...quit
Mayweather gets his chin cracked, shakes it off and delivers beatdowns. Mike Alvarado faces a little bit of adversity and quits.
Not about race either. Mike Tyson faced some adversity against Holyfield and bit him because he was getting his ass kicked. Ricardo Lopez got cut from a head butt, fought back and won.
This myth needs to be laid to rest.Yeah, exactly. I appreciate all fighters styles, origins, and a fighting heart comes from inside a man, not from his skin. And I despise posters here who say bad things about color. After the third time hearing Vegabound insult blacks, I reported him for each infraction. The same for some guy who insulted Filipinos no less than 6-10 times in a week. He was reported too.
And I understand pride and nationalism but fighters need to shut the fuk up about it. There is nothing worse than when you are a fan of a fighter and he talks only about fighting for ............fill in the blanks and excludes everyone else. I feel like saying, so you only want to appeal to your kind, fuk it, I am no longer a fan.
i get your point and i understand, there are different ways to discriminate, racism is one of them, i know that. jhonny did say he had more heart than russell because he (gonzalez) is mexican, not because he is white, and he didn't say russell had/has less heart because he (gary) is black. he would have said the same fighting any other fighter, regardless color or nationality.True. I just hate it when a fighter has to say its because they are something is the reason why they will win or have something the other guy does not. Even JMM said in an interview that he would beat Juan Diaz because he was a real Mexican. That sht is uncalled for. No fighter on this planet wins because he is this race or that nationality. They win because they got there with hard work and skills.

exactly.......
If Mayweather said I am a better pure boxer than Pacquiao because I'm African American you all would be pissing blood, vomiting and cramping. So miss me with that ****.
Lol remember how menstrual the Pac hordes got when he ripped Jeremy Lin?
If I say "I'm a beast!" that doesn't mean I'm implying "You're not a beast!". I'm just saying I'm a beast.
I guess our ebony sisters don't understand that.

Headbutt? :dunno:
Ehhh...watch how it ended. I like Ghost he more than redeemed himself since that fight. He was just a good example to use in that case.

The words Race or rather Racism cover a gamut, not just race. They cover race, color, creed, nationality, even certain groups. Racism is in this century at least the cover label used to define those aforementioned differences to create less confusion.

It's ignorant to question a fighters heart due to race but now fighting style as well??? Disagree but whatever floats your boat bro.
You lack reading comprehension.
