The rumored everywhere. Jean Bedard, president of Interbox, was an alliance with Main Events and HBO to inflate the supply clan Sergey Kovalev at the auction held in Mexico City on 17 April. And therefore force Al Haymon to add two or three million to an already copious envelope.
As we know, the WBC, World Boxing Concil, will provide the organization of the fight between Sergei Kovalev and Adonis Stevenson to the promoter that will ensure the best scholarships for both boxers.
Already Yvon Michel and Al Haymon stated that they were ready to lay by $ 10 million for the presentation of the fight on September 26 at the new Coliseum in Quebec.
HBO and Kathy Duva are now breaking the bank to counter the offer of PBC Al Haymon group. And it goes without saying that an association with Jean Bédard and Interbox could bring water to the mill as well have benefited from market Montreal and Quebec.
But as Jean Bédard and Yvon Michel are both Quebecers and they are already partners in the presentation and organization of some parties and several battles, many were uncomfortable discussing this possibility.
That works for Kovalev making quick work out of Mohamedi...aim for June IMO.... I don't think it'll last that long anyway...given there's no cuts or anything.
Article said Duva/Interbox working together to counter their offer....but no way they're winning it

All Haymon has is Bute, Alverez, Browne and Beterbiev although his contract isn't the standard Haymon deal Artur and his manager Anna Reva negotiated a better deal. Don't know if it would allow him to face Kovalev if it can only happen on HBO though.
All those fighters need to be developed into an attraction, non with certainty either. Kovavlev will want to have big fights now and next year. Stevenson, Beterbiev, Bute, Alvarez would make for big fights in Montreal.
... I don't think that Haymon started all these just in order to make himself a Slavic stable... I guess it was the contrary...
Haymon made an exception to his contract terms in order to make a deal with Betbiev. Nor did he hesitate to sign Khytrov, Derevyanchenko, Khurtsidze, Golub. Now there are rumors of him and Marco Huck. And with his ambition to bring PBC to UK, rest of Europe wouldn't be far behind. Given who his primary investors are, I don't think he would limit himself to small scale in the US only. Furthermore, I think he's aware he needs action fighters to complement his 'slick' fighters.
Exactly.
It's like some of these people forget it was Duva who filed lawsuit against Haymon and GBP which led, in part, to their breakup by claiming Haymon and Schaefer were trying "to wrest control of Golden Boy from Oscar De La Hoya for their own financial gain" etc.
Duva gave multiple interviews criticizing the cold war, and gave examples where her husband would sue Don King and turn around to make business with him. She'll do whatever she determines to be in her companies' best interest, which as I pointed out Haymon is capable right now of out matching HBO in terms of money & tv dates, not to mention audience reach.
I wish I had a made a Christmas list of which fights I want to see made. If I were, this would be a top 3:
1. Mayweather-Pacquiao: signed and scheduled for May 2nd
2. Kovalev-Stevenson
3. GGG-Cotto
It looks like #2 is creeping closer to being realized provided that Stevenson gets by Bika and Kovalev does his job in dispatching his IBF mandatory challenger. Finally, we get to see the lineal champion against the best in the division. It should have happened last year but I won't get into why it didn't happened as there may have been countless threads on that particular matter. Let's just get the bidding out of the way so the fight fans can get the fight they really want.
Throw in Juanma vs Gamboa or is that one still marinating? Lol
Lulz oh ya Loeffler, Duva and Arum are real likely to forego their duties and become Haymon subsidiaries like no backbone Dibella. Kathy and Tom are some of the last real promoters left and Arum Lulz i'm sure.

Not only could Haymon offer more money than HBO, but he could open up tv dates for her other fighters. Uncle Al knows that if he's able to steal away Kovalev from HBO (and maybe Golovkin and Lomachenko next year), the PBC's credibility is a lock and HBO is either going to have to play ball or get out. Just some strategy I could see playing out.

Klimas is a manager and Haymon is an adviser, there's room for co-existence. Haymon could potentially offer a greater deal and it would be in Klimas' best interest for his fighters to do it. Basically Haymon's cutt is a league fee.
We know Haymon can match the money over the next 4 years, provide more exposure in terms of tv, and has access to more bigger name opponents. Who will HBO be able to offer Kovalev to fight come next year? Plus more exposure on national tv could lead to large sponsorship deals.
I'm sure Haymon recognizes he needs dominant action fighters to really sell his league, and he may be willing to make very lucrative offers to the big 3.

That literally has nothing to do with anything. It's not even close to the same situation. Way to switch topics to something random so you can get all the people who see the name "Pac," see you trying to accuse me of being a P@ctard, and start agreeing with you.
Stevenson's promoter nearly had an agreement for the Kovalev fight. Stevenson ran to Haymon, who came in and blew it up. That's a duck, no matter how you try to justify it. And now that Kovalev put in all the work to become mandatory and left Stevenson with no choice, he wants the fight because he either takes the fight or becomes irrelevant. You're completely ignoring the past year of excuses that have kept Stevenson out of the ring with anyone worth a damn while Kovalev has taken away all his money fights and made himself the mandatory.
Kovalev is fighting a mandatory a month or two after Stevenson fights so he can keep his belt. You should get a job in a movie theater the way you're trying to project Stevenson's ducking onto Kovalev.
Bojangles I get your point but if this happens it worked out better for both Stevenson and Kovalev. SO Kovalev had to take the harder road. That's what happens when you don't have the fanbase the other guy does.
Once they fight, winning and nothing else matters. That they didn't fight in early 2014 means nothing. It seems people are holding on to this as if it will somehow take away from Stevenson if he wins.
Fact is Stevenson has beaten the #1 LHW, Kovalev beat #2, and #3 and if they fight and Stevenson wins its because he is better than Kovalev and always was.

Stevenson is looking to cash out. There's no harm in that. They were close to a deal last year but HBO low balled them. There's no denying that. Canelo and Ward make more to fight hand picked bums yet Stevenson can't get more for what would be the fight of the year last year? It has nothing to do with being scared and everything to do with being paid.
They have always wanted the fight with Kovalev. They just wanted it at their number not HBO's. That's why Stevensons team went to the WBC to order the mandatory. Kovalevs trying to fight some stiff in Russia while Stevenson is trying to fight Kovalev next.

You have no problem at all with PAC turning down 40 mil garanteed while you cry when Stevenson says no to 1 million. Can you guys at least pretend to be objective and consistent?

Does Al Haymon wash drug money or is he kingpin? Where is he coming up with this money for a light heavyweight fight where Kovalev is still only popular with hardcore fans and Stevenson is only popular with Montreal natives?
You keep saying this when it's ridiculous. Kovalev's side is the one who spent the last year eliminating the only other possible big fights for Stevenson, and convinced the WBC to let Kovalev become Stevenson's mandatory if he beat Pascal. The only reason Stevenson's side is willing to fight now is because of everything Kovalev has done. They have no choice if Stevenson wants to keep his belt and whatever little shred of respect he has left. It's either fight Kovalev or become another Peter Quillin.

I only see one team making the moves here.

Why is Duva trying to beat it? I don't think she'd make it back, it's just money in the bank for them.
Yeah, don't bother getting in a bidding war with Al Haymon. She won't beat him.
