This is not necessarily a Mayweather vs Pacquiao thread but more of a strategy and analysis thread for Manny Pacquiao. I do not think his coach Freddy Roach is teaching Pacquiao the correct maneuvers and skills to defend against the right hand. Since 2008, 7 years ago Pacquiao has been getting hit flush with the right hand without any adjustment to improve this c hink in his armor.
Manny when hit, starts to reach in with multiple punches that leaves him unbalance and even more susceptible to the right hand. His jab is also ineffective, easily parried constantly and timed by the right. If Manny Pacquiao do not watch video of this in camp and works on this primarily, he will not win his next fight. He needs a much better trainer than Freddy Roach at this point or someone different.
Roach was very susceptible to the right hand during his career, so it makes sense why he wasn't able to help Pacquiao overcome or learn against the orthodox stance power hand.
Seriously.. Chris Algieri showed better boxing skill than Pacquiao in some spells during their match. I was dumbfounded to watch Pacquiao get countered in close range by the right hand by Algeri and even left hooks due to Pacquiao's ineffective jab and non-adjusting nature to the right hand.
I found a highlight video that showcases Pacquiao most recent opponents utilizing the right hand against him effectively and nullifying his prodigious offensive attack. You would think that a Southpaw which is usually seen as a rarity and advantage in boxing will able to nullify the orthodox stance's back hand.
Freddy Roach has not improved Manny Pacquiao... Pacquiao should hire another boxing trainer to help supplement his training with Roach. I think Virgil Hunter would had been someone that could had improved Pacquiao and taught the skills to improve his flaws as well as keep him in his natural style. Do anyone think Pacquiao have the worst defense to the right hand in recent memory? Also should he hire a different trainer that would actually teach him way to defend against the orthodox stance more effectively? What are some ways Pacquiao can defend against the right hand that will use his natural abilities effectively to counter? Freddie Roach do not have the answers...
How do Pacquiao defend the right hand? What do he use to defend it? High guard? His legs? Head movement? It seems everytime he tried to defend it, he gets smacked by it. Please give me some evidence of him using any defensive tactics against this punch that even Algieri was landing on him flush.
Also you forget that Mayweather do not rely on one punch, he also do body punching a lot and the left hook. He also changes his trajectory on his right hand to wrap around guards to land in a blind spot. Much akin to Bradley and Marquez dip right hand to the face, Mayweather does it in a much better tactical way with a mid feint.

You predicted that Guerrero was going to beat the **** out of Thurman. You a twat and need to never post again just for making ludicrous statements. Also putting a gif of a kickboxer kicking a little girl in a boxing forum, shows how YOU DON'T KNOW S HIT ABOUT BOXING.
You're right, putting a fictional conversation slurping off your fav fighter proves how much more of a real fan you are.

Did Pacquiao workrate work against JMM? No. He was met with a patient trap by a much slower man and went night night.
Pacquiao spazzing out punches will ultimately kill him in this fight. Stop being ignorant, his foot speed is not going to help as Floyd Mayweather has more INTELLIGENT foot work. What is Pacquiao going to hit Floyd with?? He do not possess a jab, the only punch that can be considered Floyd's poison.
Why the jab? Its because its coming from the orthodox opponent's left hand. Manny is a southpaw and his punch will be much more powerful than a jab. The only difference is that a jab is coming at you quicker (shorter distance and straight) ..... but even then, Manny is quicker than most of Floyd's opponents.
The difference between Floyd and Marquez is that Marquez is willing to take risks. In that exchange with Marquez, if Manny came in with a left instead of a right, like several times in that fight, it would have been Marquez down. Again, the point is that was high risk, high reward type of situation for Marquez.
Floyd gets mad if he leaves himself open and gets hit. Example is end of the 3rd round against Maidana 2.
Now if Manny can somehow counter Floyd's right, Floyd is in for a long night. That is what Roach is more than likely showing Manny .....
.
Im watching the 4th Marquez fight now and what I notice is Marquez has more general activity than Floyd, feints, bobbing head movement upper body movement, foot movement etc, also he punches with Manny, something Floyd never does, and he never gets caught on the ropes and if he is on the ropes he'll exchange and pivot out or simply exchange. Should be a close fight.
Mayweather doesn't telegraph anything he does, that is why he is able to be so effective and land accurately regardless. Marquez proves he telegraphs a lot of what he does which is why he couldn't land on Mayweather and Mayweather landed everything on him. Pacquiao is even worse than Marquez at telegraphing what he is about to do. Which is why he is easily timed. The only time I ever see Pacquiao look effectively and not countered is when he is patient and picks his combinations, like in the 2nd Bradley fight when Bradley gassed out.

So now we are comparing Juan and Floyd because "dey counterpuncher doe" but you don't realize they are night and day.
Floyds footwork? Where was it during the Maidana fights? He laid on the ropes and got mauled.
Manny has the fresher legs of the two, nothing changed for Floyd since the Cotto fight, he just fought guys with slower feet so he looked incredible.
Another punch YOURE overlooking is Pacquiaos right hook. Keep thinking it'll be easy though :)
Floyd's right hand, counterpunching, patience, intelligence and speed is leagues above JMM. So he is a great base to start from when assessing Pacquiao's glaring weaknesses coming in to this fight.
You must had missed the constant declarations by Mayweather himself, saying that his fight with Maidana was going to be a different fight than how he usually approach his fights. So once the bell rung, he went in to that fight to brawl it out, stay in close quarters. The second fight showed he still can move better than anyone else in the fight and beat Maidana even easier.
You just proved you are a big dolt for trying to use the Maidana 1st fight as a guage for Mayweather's speculated declining movement. I am sure you was saying this back in 2013 before he fought Guerrero due to his fights from 2010-2012 and going to prison as though he didn't have his legs anymore.
Pacquiao has footwork, but it's slow in it's intelligence. He usually puts himself out of range and out of position which will leave him to get tagged constantly with laser punches. Pacquiao's right hook is only effective against punching bags like Rios.
How do Pacquiao improve his defense and take away the right hand from landing?

Does, pendejo! Does!

How can you literally say "he doesn't rely on one punch..." When he only throws one at a time (now). Mannys volume will be too much.
I'm saying Mayweather do not come in to a fight counting on one strategy and one punch to win. Picking his shots doesn't mean he throws the same punch, at the same speed, and at the same distance. He can tie up, throw a short upper cut to the solar plexus, push off with the elbow, wait for Pacquiao to feint jab and then connect with a lazor right hand which will be supplemented with Pacquiao's forward momentum. That sequence will take air from Pacquiao's lungs and check his chin which can bring in frustration and lead to more damage.
Pacquiaos workrate is a huge factor in this fight, his hand and foot speed advantage as well.
He will eat right hands, Floyds going to get touched up too. He's going to drop a CalSlappy Jones like decision to Manny.

there both gna land their back/power hand
mannys is just stronger. so there goes that. floyd cant win the fight using 1 punch, sorry.

Pacquiao should be more patient and not depend on work rate. He is very sloppy when he throws combinations and puts himself usually out of balance. That will be a key ingredient for his ass being put down to the canvas. You don't know boxing I can see.
