some say he is biased & maybe so but Ive stil yet to see inconsistencies from bayless to not like him..in the maidana fight it benefitted Floyd no doubt but its just his style that he gets too involved in close range fights where clinches are being used a lot... well, neither pac or Floyd are inside fighters so his style of refereeing does not benefit either fighter & at the same time convenient in avoiding all the unwanted clinches that ruins fights....
he is the same mother****er who advised jmm to stop the fight due to technicality coz he is ahead on points...vs jaca I believe...I mean who does that sh1t
Thaaaaaaaaat's it! Thank you! I knew I had another reason why I didn't like Cole as a ref. That was very unprofessional. Incompetent ref.
Bayless is alright in a bout where a fighter is just boxing without any wild things happening but when stuff happens he seems lost. He doesn't seem to know when is the right time to stop a fight. Often pulling the plug way too early.
no not bayless for this one. Not after he showed his colors in that maidana fight.
smoger or weeks
smoger was worse in the bhop vs murat fight...weeks is inconsistent also
Bayless resume regarding Mayweather/Pacquiao fights:
Pacquiao vs Morales II - PPV
De La Hoya vs Mayweather - PPV
Pacquiao vs Marquez II - PPV
Pacquiao vs Hatton - PPV
Pacquiao vs Cotto - PPV
Mayweather vs Mosley - PPV
Pacquiao vs Mosley - PPV
Pacquiao vs Marquez IV - PPV
Mayweather vs Canelo - PPV
Pacquiao vs Bradley - PPV
Mayweather vs Maidana II - PPV
10 combined fights, 6 Pac fights, 4 Mayweather fights, all PPV events. Most fights officiated for Mayweather and Pacquiao combined, by any active referee. Bayless also officiated the two biggest PPV's in boxing history, De La Hoya vs Mayweather, and Mayweather vs Canelo.
Bayless is the last ref I want in this fight!! He is so Floyd biased it's ridiculous. He allows Floyd to constantly hold without warning and anytime a fighter gets close and Floyd ties up he immediately breaks them.
I'm not saying he is a bad ref, but he is way too Floyd biased for a fight of this magnitude and could be a factor in the fight. Pac is gonna have a hard enough time with Floyd, he doesn't need to have to worry about the ref as well.
Laurence Cole? Absolutely not...that incompetent individual is the same one that was negligent enough to allow Margarito to go 12 rounds with a busted eye. I can see someone allowing Margarito to go on slightly given that he had Pacquiao severely hurt with a body shot at the end of the sixth and had a nice rally of punches at the start of the eighth, but Pacquiao would always come back with his own punches to overshadow any of Tony's workrate. If he didn't stop it somewhere in the eighth or ninth, he should've WITHOUT A DOUBT stepped in either during or after the 10th round after Margarito got wobbled with a counter right hook. By then, it was very evident that Margarito had NOTHING to offer. That was absolutely disgusting negligence from the corner, the ref, and the doctors...

Smoger is a good ref, but if I'm not mistaken, he only works on the east coast. As of right now, I only see Bayless or Weeks getting the assignment. Bayless is consistent enough that I cut him slack for the Mosley/Pac erroneous knockdown...Weeks is good as well, though. I honestly can't think of any moment where Weeks has done something where I've been upset. Those two are very solid.
Don't forget the Lomachenko fight.
Smoger does fights in Oakland.
Weeks will not get the assignment.
Bayless is definitely TMT but he might not be the worst for this fight.
Who are the Nevada refs anyway, Bayless, Weeks, Byrd, Nady, Drakulich, Mora...
pretty grim selection
It will be Bayless, or Byrd.
People cry just cause the second maidana fight. They don't watch boxing cause he refs the same way in EVERY fight he does. Plus manny is t gonna bull rush like chino anyway so I don't think bayles will have to do much
We do watch boxing, and some of us like myself just don't like every fight Bayless is called to ref. Just to involved like it's an amateur fight, separates them too fast. Every two seconds he's breaking them up.
If you like him as a ref, fine. But i tune in to watch two fighters, not two fighters and a ref.

He shouldent be involved in this fight, Put in Luarence Cole or Steve Smoger say what you want about them but they dont get involved for shit and just let the fight take it natural course.

Steve Smoger would have let the fourth Marquez/Pac fight take its course by counting to 20 and trying to wake Pacquaio up before he waved off the fight.

you're absolutly right , but in a fight of this magnitude we cant allow those kind of glaring mistakes. smoger would be my ref of choice

Nah, anyone but Kenny. Not after the 2nd Maidana fight.
I agree Kenny was not the guy who should've reffed that fight or other fights that involves traditional pressure fighters or fighters who likes close range fights but im pretty sure u don't want refs like cole, mora, alvarado, etc more than kenny

it was an honest mistake, he admitted it after the fight...
