NSB and the general boxing public

You know most of the posters on this site use their own judging system to score a fight instead of the actual 4 scoring criteria that boxing uses. Unfortunately, a lot of official judges appear to do the same.

Seeing as I've never been around the sport I believe that it does affect peoples views. In my first week here I learned that Sugar Ray Robinson sucked, that Joe Louis was himself a bum, that every fight is fixed, that using the ring is running, that everybody 'duks', that every fighter is over hyped trash and that the general public is far wiser to the sport than those who actually live/lived in the sport. The general boxing public, that's where it's at. Hell no. Nobody in a gym talks like the regulars here. They're all so desperate to be heard that they overstate their opinions to the point that they don't even truly believe what they're saying. This place is great for news but the opinions are just a shouting contest. ^^^These posts in the first page killed the thread. The second post is especially true about the over-the-top statements that NSB is known for. The term "duck" has been used SO much that it's practically lost meaning...and in second place is "robbery".

Knowledge of posters in nsb is far greater than that of the general public. Boxing is not very well understood by the masses. Some don't even know the judging system. No because a lot of the stuff people say behind a computer screen they won't say in public. I'm sure they would. But on here we try keep it short....nobody wants to read an e-book on NSB......Let alone write one.

thurman went a minute and a half without throwing one punch but he did remember to clinch just saying. they be haters lol they follow me in every thread and I never ever engage them first in convo ever cause it always end up the same they hurling insults and shit lol when I just keep it boxing. He didn't go a minute and a half without throwing a punch and he must have clinched like 3 or 4 times in the whole fight. That's nothing. Thurman rarely clinches. As for the OP, there are very few on here who actually understand the sport. I'd say like less than 10% of people on here know what they're talking about. I mean most people still don't understand the concept of 'styles make fights'. Also anyone who can use their feet and has good defence is refereed to as a 'runner'.
