Thurman's win over Guerrero was better than Floyd's. All Floyd did in his fight with Guerrero was evade and interrupt Guerrero's attack. Thurman went in there and PUNISHED Guerrero. The only damage done to Thurman was due to a clash of heads and he fought through it and continued to punish Guerrero.
The scorecards between the fights show that Thurman beat Guerrero better. Not only the scores, but compubox agrees!
Floyd: 195/476 landed for 41%
Guerrero: 113/581 landed for 19%

Keith shut Guerrero down and was hit LESS than Floyd according to compubox. Keith landed more as well and the difference in accuracy is miniscule.
Let's keep in mind that Keith did this with a grapefruit on his head from the 3rd round on AND had a KD vs Guerrero.
Anyone saying Floyd beat Guerrero better is just a fanboy.
Guerrero had moments in every round for the first five at least. Guerrero had only one moment in the Thurman fight in the tenth round.
so 5 rounds in against floyd you thought Guerrero still had a chance? Look I'm no floyd fan but let's call a spade a spade here. He schooled Guerrero easily. He did what he had to do and never once looked like he had to get out of second gear.
Arguing that thurman beat guererro better or whatever ... meh ... OPINION.

Again, we'll see if Thurman is still beating the "Guerreros" of the time so handily in 10 years. It'll be interesting. ......
LOL, you the one that sounds sore brah, his eye won't even swollen at teh end of the fight, lol....nice try doe. :nono:
Wow, you're just an idiot... You actually thought the eye was caused by anything else than the giant hematoma on his head?
Gtfo
Depends how you look at it I suppose. thurman may have done more damage but he looked a little vulnerable at times and though I had thurman winning the early rounds too guerrero had his moments and still looked like he was in with a shot after 3 or 4 rounds. 3-4 rounds into the floyd fight is was clear that there was no way in hell Guerrero had even the remotest of chances.

Well this is boxing and we all know a better win give you an extra victory on your record.
Why is the questions on who had better wins primarily asked about Mayweather?

I'm not going to argue stats or semantics with regards to Mayweather's and Thruman's respective performances against Robert Guerrero. I'm certainly not going take shots at Keith Thurman after a hard fought win. What I will do is look at both performances in a different context.
An important factor in both performances is... is the "when" as well as the how. How old is Thurman? 26? A good question is, will he still be performing like this in 10 years? At a weight or two above where he is now (I know the climb is harder, the higher you start so even one weight would do)? This was a good, good performance against this level of opponent and slightly better than Mayweather's in some ways. But Mayweather has been doing this for a decade (and more, really) so we'll see where Keith Thurman is in 10 years. This is not a dig at Thurman, but the opposite. Let the guy have a chance to grow before comparing him to Mayweather. And the fact that Mayweather can still do what a fighter ten years younger can do is pretty special.
It's easy to pick out certain performances of a fighter against certain opponents and find better ones, but trying to find the same level of performances consistently against championship level opponents over a long period of time is much harder.
No it isnt, he got hurt against guerrero, floyd dominated him without hardly getting touched. Oh and floyd hurt guerrero in the fight aswell, before you say he just ran.
Not true at all. Floyd out classed Ghost, and Ghost had no business being in the ring with him anyway, Thurman was in a war. Not comparable. Going life and death with someone is not more impressive than schooling someone, it's less impressive.

Thurman did beat him better than Floyd did on the score cards and on punches landed and received. He hurt him and knocked him down and his fight was more entertaining than Floyd's fight with Guerrero. Floyd outboxed Guerrero by a wide margin. Thurman not only outboxed him, he out fought him and knocked him down. Floyd beat Guerrero easily but Thurman did an even better job on Guerrero.
Thurman has the power to keep Guerrero honest, while Mayweather didn't.
It doesn't matter if Keith had a grapefruit on his forehead, because again, Robert knew he can't walk in silly and get caught.
I can turn this around and say Mayweather fought a Guerrero who had been undefeated in 7 years and was the interim WBC WW Champion where as Thurman was fighting a guy who was in rebuilding mode.
People that just can't appreciate pure boxing without the KOs/Knockdowns, should just switch to another combat sport, preferably MMA as their is emphasis on "finishes".
Guerrero has a good chin but is flat footed and slow. The fight didnt show much but that they can hit slow flat footed fighters. Thurman got caught a couple times but he's exciting to watch, unlike you know who.
Remember that Guerrero had a long layoff and had just moved up several divisions and faced Floyd soon after. Guerrero should be better adapted to WW division now. Still don't think its Guerrero's division.
Guerrero has always had heart but is slow with his hands and feet.
I would have said goddamn too. That was a huge knot and a very bad swelled eye.
You would have said that it was due to the head to head accidental collision that happened early on in the fight. Then you would have said that it was clearly not because of a punch .... you goddamn haters.....
so you are right ..... you would have said goddamn. :lol1:
