Sugar Ray Leonard is the most overrated boxer in boxing history. Ran from the great Tommy Hearns for years before giving him a rematch after the first fluky win when he landed a lucky punch out of desperation to badly hurt the Hitman. He then let a brawler outbox him in Duran. ::haha::haha::
He then hid in shame for years to avoid Hagler. Ray Leonaard doesnt deserve the name Sugar. He should change the name to Rachel. The clown is a fraud. If Mayweather Sr didnt get shot he would have whooped Rachel backside so imagine what the best boxer of all time in Mayweather would do to him. Mayweather is superior to Leonard in all departments. He would take the mug back to nursery and school. Mayweather wins every round and then stops the ducker Leonard late on and shatters his glass jaw.
Oh definitely, he only beat scrubs like Wilfred Benitez, Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns, and Marvin Hagler.
And who cares if he beat Ayub Kalule, the #1 guy at 154, three months before facing Hearns? That doesn't compare to Mayweather beating guys like Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez at junior middleweight, or Manny Pacquiao beating Antonio Margarito at junior middleweight
Also, HBO said he ducked Aaron Pryor, and HBO always tells the truths, so it must have been true.
For those who haven't saw the Kalule fight go to YouTube and check it out. Very entertaining.

SRL vs Floyd would be a very interesting fight and who really knows how it would end up? The only time SRL fought like Floyd was when Ray fought Hagler, content to win on points. Every other time, Ray would do everything in his power to knock his opponent the f#ck out. But doing so, he got hit more than you'd think a great defensive fighter would. He was a warrior, I loved watching him. Younger Floyd kind of was the same but I think Rays size advantage would be too much.
He is.........
you must be on some sort of meth right ?
He is. Or he just started watching the sport, like yesterday. Smh. Most of these guys who say things like this, are ignorant and haven't been watching boxing long enough. Noone in their right mind, thinks that Floyd would beat SRL. It's just not possible. SRL is a legend and boxing god. Floyd is a mere HOF'mer who is insecure as fighter and not as confident as he comes across. If he was, he wouldn't have waited so long to fight Manny, who is clearly a weight class smaller than Floyd. That's how much of a coward he is. SRL is cut from a different cloth and would KO Floyd.

There is so much wrong with the original post, that it's impossible to know where to start laughing at it.
The sad thing is that i think its a real post..not an attempt at trolling.^^^^^^^^^^No comments!!!

Well, I am. Ray would beat the **** out of Triple G, man. He doesn't even have a puncher's chance. Watch your mouth. Triple G is SLOW as hell, first of all. Ray is one of the smartest fighter's ever. On top of that, he didn't get tired. His stamina was second to none. Last time I checked, Triple G's tongue was just hanging out against Murray. Murray semi-exposed him and showed that against a higher skilled opponent, he would lose.
I agree with the GGG assessment of being slow...He looked like he was in slow motion during the Murray fight and in the post-fight interview he even stated that he was too slow...
Are we talking about THIS Sugar Ray Leonard??? If so, I see no chance...
Also, doubtful this is a Pac fan thread....You heard Floyd the dumbass himself say he is better than Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson so why would a Floydmo not be as dumb as their God??
I would take Ray in the match-up. Mostly because I guess I hold those old welterweights at such a high regard. Hearns, Duran, Leonard... a thing of beauty. Through the Hawk in the mix. The thing about Ray he wasn't afraid to sell out for the victory. Conversely, Floyd always sticks to his game plan and a scrap with Hearns, Leonard, or Duran might have made Floyd change his plan... then who knows! Plus just as it was easy to hate on Ray back in the day, it is easy to hate on Floyd today!
I apologize. But what you have to realize is that Hagler is one of the greatest middleweights of all-time. He is relentless and highly skilled. Hagler could not be broken. Anyone would be tired fighting him. Ray was in the best shape of his career. Triple G hasn't been to deep waters like that, yet. You have no reasons to think he would beat SRL, who I feel is the greatest fighter, ever. Triple G is a good fighter and very likeable, too. I think Ward would beat him down, if he moves up to fight him. I also think Chavez Jr would give him hell.

The same way anyone who has fought GGG so far has been tired and overwhelmed, albeit a vastly inferior level of opposition. Fighting Ward is different because he'd be at a disadvantage in terms of size rather than the advantage he'd have against Leonard. Again, I must stress that I'm not saying he beats Leonard - Just that he has a good chance due to the factors I outlined. I'll make a thread about it with a poll and see how it pans out just to satisfy curiosity...
PS. I genuinely think GGG beats 7 shades of **** out of Chavez JR, even if they fought at LHW. The size difference isn't as big as the difference in class, technique and mentality.
Watch my mouth? I'm just giving my opinion. Relax. GGG has a puncher's chance against any middleweight in history, let alone someone who's a natural WW. Look at Leonard's TV interview after the Hagler fight - if "he didn't get tired" then why does he seem like he's about to pass out during that interview? My point is that Golovkin would pressure him probably more than Hagler did during that fight so I think he'd definitely have a good chance to beat SRL.
