Ward's not steamrolling anybody. He hit Allen Green, Edison Miranda, Henry Buchanan and Andy Kolle with everything he had and never came close to dropping them. He was hanging for life in the 12th against Bika. Golovkin has a nasty side to him and if Ward starts clinching all the time he should expect some looping rights against his temple while in the clinch like a sloppy Bika was doing. ward is just god awful to watch. I don't know how anyone could enjoy watching ward box and call it masterful boxing.... it's not. If you want to watch skilled boxers (and not brawling and going to war) I understand watching guys like mayweather (except for maidana II) who use head movement, stick and move etc. but a clinch fest isnt masterful boxing

A clinch every 22 seconds :) If you'd say 10% of those were unintentional it'd be a clinch every 24 seconds. I think this is a new way to watch a Ward fight. How many clinches per minute does he initiate. A lot of them looked all Ward... Kessler is almost too dumb to clinch (or fight on the inside for that matter). But this is illegal. It's like one of the original Marquis of Queensbury rules of boxing. No holding or wrestling allowed. some of us already do that with wlad. its the only way to keep sane during his borefests. i really don't know what if anything people are thinking when watching these guys constantly cheat. do they just ignore it?

Ward beats him by UD. How close or wide of a UD I'm not sure. Golovkin can make things interesting if he can land good body shots early before getting smothered/held on the inside. so the way ward wins is by cheating? this is why some people like myself dont respect ward. people know he's cheating yet they still overlook it and even claim ward will win because he's so good at cheating.

I think Ward would beat GGG but it wouldn't be a master class. It would be an 8-4/7-5 type decision

LOL. I can't believe how many times Ward clinched Kessler. I knew he did but watching the video I didn't realize how much. Damn. Wasn't it 88 headbutts? Unintentional of course.

GGG has no defense can't fight going back at all. Once he fights the bigger skilled guys at 168 it's over.

i forgot just how terrible to watch wards style is. amazing great fighter, but man some of his fights have been dreadful That's why I always give Ward crap. My God he's boring, I give Floyd sh*t but he doesn't really bore me (except for Madonna 2 that was horrible) Ward literally puts me to sleep.

It was the first time that I've watched the guy fight, was not impressed. But to be fair it's tough to look great against a guy holding his hands as Murphy did.:boxing: So you have watched him once & paid so much attention that you just renamed his opponent? You clearly have a balanced viewpoint & a keen eye for detail LMAO You can't assess a fighter on one fight & expect people to take you seriously whilst calling Murray Murphy... They only repeated his name like 25 times throughout the fight! LOL Oh & Ward has no bearing or relevance to Golovkin or even the sport in general, he is a SMW who hasn't fought a ranked SMW in 4 years & had just been stripped of his title for inactivity! Ward is about as relevant to Golovkin as Calzaghe is. You people only name check him as an emotional crutch to make you feel a little better about the fact that he is on his way to being the best MW of his generation & it eases the pain convincing yourselves that people from other divisions may or may not get the better of him! Why stop there... Kovalev, Usyk, Klitschko?! Ward should pay more attention to the Dirrell brothers or the Groves brothers (James & George) LOL Rather than calling out MW's... In fact any SMW with a pulse would be better than his current opposition! The invisible man...

I agree to give the edge to Ward, but if you're going to use the word "steamroll" in your title, I probably wouldn't also mention clinching as an example of that.

lol, golovkin actually took murray's clinching away, you dont see that often seriously though, boxing is disgraceful nowadays with the leniency towards clinching, if a fighter is trying to fight, then tell the clincher to let go, if you are forced to break, give them a warning and threaten to take a point fukin leonard likely would have dominated hagler if he was allowed to clinch like a f*got like mayweathervs maidana II as an example, in the biggest stage no less, probabley would have beaten duran if he the ref's interfered everytime their shoulders touched it's disgraceful that an illegal tactic can be used as a gameplan, every round, spammed to fuk

In fact the butthurt is so strong you are using an irrelevant retired SMW as an emotional crutch! Naysayer is having a hard time dealing with the Golovkins, Kovalevs & Calzaghes of the world... You don't want to see the fight happen because you know Ward will win. if you have seen some of my other posts you know i don't want to see any ward fight because he's a cheat. same with wlad. sure ward/wlad can beat almost anyone when they are on top of their cheat game but i want to see actual boxing settle who's better not who can grab hold of their opponent and prevent boxing from happening.

Funny S h i t! Ward is as exciting to watch as paint drying on the wall on a very humid day! Ward has got to be the worst effing champion of all time! If you like his style then you my friend know jack s h i t about boxing because that is hugging not boxing! Not too mention that this clown won't even leave Oakland to fight! GGG KO's Andre Ward any day of the week, but since Ward doesn't fight anymore we will never see that happen once GGG cleans out Middleweight and moves to Super Middle! Would be great to see it though, that way we never have to see Ward's painful hugging style ever again after GGG KO's him!:notworthy
