NOTE: This is a Mayweather only thread. It has nothing to do with the fight that is upcoming.
From Wikipedia:
"Because Marquez had never before fought above 135 lbs and had fought at 130 lbs as recently as March 2008, while Mayweather had campaigned at 147 lbs since 2005, the fight was scheduled to take place at a catchweight of 144 lbs to account for the size disparity between the two fighters.
The fight was originally scheduled for July 18, 2009 at the MGM Grand arena but was postponed due to a rib injury sustained by Mayweather. The bout was rescheduled for September 19, 2009.
During the official weigh in for their 144 lb bout, Marquez weighed in at 142 lbs and Mayweather weighed in at 146 lbs thereby incurring a financial penalty ($300,000 for each pound over 144 lbs) as he was 2 pounds over the catchweight.
It was later revealed that the contract was changed a few days prior to the weigh in so that Mayweather would be allowed to weigh up to the welterweight limit of 147 lbs while avoiding paying an additional fine to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, in addition to the fine he agreed to pay to Marquez."
Where is the cast/bandage? There should be a horizontal cast/bandage/tape across and around the damaged rib area and a vertical cast/plaster over the shoulders connected to the horizontal cast/bandage to pull it up.
Many people have ribs that stick out like that naturally, zero injury.
You know this interview was like...in 2011. Marquez fight was in 2009.
What in the hell was the point of this thread?
It has no point. But neither has any of the other 120,000 "I hate Mayweather" threads that have been created on this forum since the first negotiation began in 2009. Unfortunately, we will see at least another 120,000 between now and May 2.
I would say this was the dumbest thread of the day but then there was that guy that said there's a double standard cuz Ward gets to be a duck but Leo doesn't without people getting mad at him or some garbage :lol1:
Lol. What are you saying? They photoshopped the broken rib in there? You don't think you're reaching a little? Come on, man. Even you had to admit you were reaching there, right?

I notice that it is a FloydHype video. Suspicion alert!

I said it before, they won't be satisfied. Already i'm seeing a lot of "5 years too late".
Thing is, fans don't realize that even at their advanced age, the rest of the top 10 SWW-WW's are no match for these two. For Pacquiao to be a complete underdog other than in a Mayweather fight, he'd have to fight at 154, his 8th weight class! For Floyd to be underdog against anyone, he'd have to fight Golovkin at 160. That's amazing, two 150 pounders have to fight guys who have 15-23lbs weight advantage for odds to be against them. This fight is between the two current best fighters among 3 weight classes, what more do people want? #1 WW vs #2 WW, #1 P4P vs #3 P4P, WW title holder vs WW title holder. Lol, smh. Do people want more credentials to get hyped up for this fight and stop the hate?
I can't lie, I'm kind of that guy right now. I'm still bitter at the situation because if Pac and Floyd would've just sat down years ago, the fight would've happened just like it did this year. It's (pretty) obvious that both have wanted it, but ego's/politics have gotten in the way.
That said, as the days go on and the hype starts to build with press conferences, HBO specials, etc. I'm going to be just as hyped as I was in 09 :boxing:

I remember the talk, at the time, was Mayweather was concerned about fighting 1 week after UFC 100 which had Brock Lesnar, GSP, Dan Henderson. It turned out to be UFC's top PPV ever. Mayweather thought it would adversely affect the PPV buys for his fight
In other words, Mayweather has demonstrated that he is capable of faking an injury to not let a fight happen as planned to suit any objective. This is the point of this thread.
Note: This is a Mayweather thread in general. Not about a particular fight in the future.
