Ward destroyed his career by himself...
But I don't really know; at some point (not long ago) he said that he was in boxing for 20 years now and was contemplating retirement...
He goes back and forth. One minute he wants to win a heavyweight title before his career is over and the next minute he talks like he has one foot out the door.
Who does Roc Nation have for him to fight? Haymon is signing a lot of fighters from 168-175 and Ward will be odd man out. He needs to get back soon to get his name back in the public.

Are you on something?
Back in Jan 2012, Ken Hershman (then the Showtime chief, and now president of HBO Sports) personally took his protege (i.e. Andre Ward) with him... From Sho to HBO... The fact that Ward didn't want to fight anymore isn't Hershman fault -- Hersham always believed that Andre was the future P4P #1...
3 years later Hershman has forgotten all about Andre. He didn't help Andre at all when he was mired in a promotional dispute with Goosen. He won't throw Andre a bone now even though he is coming off 15 months of inactivity and counting.
Now, let's be honest: was it Hershman's fault? Ward lost 2 times against Goossen in court... Do you think Hershman had to bribe some judge or something? Hershman was loyal and truthful -- he paid Ward over $2 million for his last fight... But he can't let him sit back and ask for a Sartison tune up... :) It isn't professional...

I have little doubt that the larger, more experienced, more talented and more proven Ward would win. Golovkin has more lucrative and more winnable fights at MW available to him. Any fight at SMW will be more marketable after those fights. Golovkin has more lucrative and winnable fights at SMW he could take as he builds the muscle needed to grow into that weight class. Which would give him the experience at that weight he would need to make the Ward fight more competitive. I can't imagine Ward will still be at SMW by then, he was fighting at LHW in the AMs a decade ago FFS.
Ward only fought at LHW in order to make room for Dirrell at MW, Andre was essentially fighting out of his weight class during that period.
He makes their favorite fighters look bad, puts Ls on their records, and is the next American boxer who will probably take over the sport after Floyd retires. Once Floyd is gone, Andre will be the new guy to hate.
Cant wait for ward the diva to get knocked the fuk back to oracle arena in oakland. You aint ppv material homeboy youre boring as fuk to watch move up to 175 or get the fuk on.

Ward chose to create that mess with Goosen. Hershman threw him a bone with the color commentator job to help keep him relevant. Now you're crying it's unfair that Andre can't get $2mill to fight guys Kovalev already beat for $300k?
Why are you guys pissing your pants over Ward-GGG? :lol1:

HBO would laugh Andre Ward out of the room if he wanted to fight Cedric Agnew or Blake Caparello.
They would if he was asking for $2mill to fight them instead of $300k-$400k like Kovalev did.
He's become irrelevant at 168 and is basically just waiting for ggg to move up. His career revolves around hoodlum at this point.all because he doesn't wanna move up and fight new people.
Are you sure that Ward is waiting for GGG to move up? As of lately, Ward said he would come back soon, but failed to call Golovkin up again.
HBO is trying its hardest to kill his career. HBO hates American fighters.

It is the bad business mistakes that is hurting his career more than anything else. Having J.Prince as his manager is the real Hold Back to his Career, no disrespect to J.Prince in anyway but Boxing includes Politics outside of the ring and well because of his connection with J.Prince that keeps away Top Rank, GBP and Al Haymon because they are aware of his rep. It is alleged that Arum had to help get Mayweather out of his situation with J.Prince years ago.
Signing to a New Promotion is once again, not a great move right now for a guy that has done everything right in the ring but haven't reached Stardom because he doesn't have the right Representation outside of the ring!
He can't make many demands right now, he has to take whatever HBO offers him, he should maybe just let them present the opponents that are acceptable for them and pick from that.
ali was never in jail. he was denied a boxing license when he refused to be drafted into the army and become a puppet for the state, the way louis had in his prime. that's something that only the most uninformed think. you know absolutely nothing about muhammad ali.
Jail is much easier than denied a boxing license for religious reasons. Either way he was not fighting for a valid reason, being a p*ssy isn't good enough.
Yeah... Ali being in jail and Ward being a lil b*tch are vastly different reasons for inactivity. Ali's is excusable, Ward's isn't.

some of hte geatest fighters of all time had periods of inactivity.
louis, ali, to start.
you wish the career of the prince was over. i am just getting started. i want to thank God and Hove, AKA the jiggaman, for recognizing the immaculate.

Showtime could make another tournament where everyone come to him and have to fight him, the ref and the judges. He could live off that another 5 years again maybe.
