Why does Canelo fight at 155?

Theres not a Real Champion in any weight only belt holders, ginger had the belt hostage and now floyd, just because floyd seems unbeatable (if you can chose and pick) it doesnt mean he is the best at 154, when was the last time did floyd fought or allow a prime fighter fight for the 154 belt without the catch weight? didnt canelo defended vs trout and floyd?? i agree on what floyd has done lately, but lara beating trout or ishe smith doesnt make him a champion.. we already have too many champions per division...

Disrespectful indeed, but he hasn't had a fight worth making the weight for since Mayweather. Obviously he struggles to make the weight of 154, so why you gonna kill yourself to make it when your throwing cash at guys like Lara and Kirkland who yes, are good fighters but are not in any position to make him come down to 154. Canelo uses the leverage because he's the one who brings in the money and the other guys are jumping at a shot to make that money. So it's easy for him to say **** it, we're fighting at 155. But tbh, look who he's used the weight against. Angulo, who's a middle weight now, Lara who is a big JMW, and now Kirkland who's also a big JMW. Paul Williams was at 157 I believe, that's still one MW more than Canelo regardless. Cotto has fought more MW than Canelo and he's only had one fight in the weight class, just give up already. dude you are like a lost puppy here...

Floyd and PAC doing catch weights is usually that. A catch weight where both fighters are moving up and the other moving down. In canelo's case, He's just fighting 154 fighters at his own weight of 155. I'll give DG a pass since he seems to be moving up. His next fight needs to be at WW though. The difference is this is going to be canelo 3rd fight in a row at this weight. This is now the third 15 pounder that he is fighting at 155 instead of 154. When's the last time you've seen a top fighter do 3 Catchweights in a row vs guys that are in the weight class he was just fighting in a year earlier.

here you go: vs maslov 158, vs gross 154 1/2, vs gray 155, vs boone 155, vs varela 155, vs perez 155 1/2, vs brewer 154 1/2, vs correa 155, vs hearns 156 1/2, vs canelo 155... thats 10 fights out of 24, yet canelo has 2 out of almost 50 and you all come here to cry...
