Goodluck trying to clinch a guy as fast and as busy as Pacman. By the 5th round you will be battered, bruised and tired from the punishment and the failed attempts.
Really the only style that has been very troublesome for pac is marquez's combination style counter punching. That's pac's kryptonite.
Problem is Pac tries to KO JMM.
If Pac wanted to just outbox him, hit him a few times, and then stay on the outside, like Floyd or Bradley, Pac could handle him with ease. It would be disappointing to his fans though.
That was an ugly fight. Sad to hear that Sanchez passed away a few years later.
Yeah he was a scrappy fighter, he fought a couple of my favorites in his career.
(random tidbit - I just remembered that this was a fight that was on a card that Floyd headlined)
I have never seen someone try to mangle or grapple Pac, because its usually a bad idea to try and get in close on him because he has those quick short punches that he hits you with.
The times I seen Pac being held he either ferociously tries to yank his arms out and continue his attack on you this is when he hurts a guy, or he waits and whispers a prayer in his opponents ear until the ref breaks it when he doesn't hurt a guy.
It all depends, if he has the guy hurt he will try to pull his arms out and go for the kill, if he doesn't and the guy keeps tying up or holding he will wait til the ref breaks them.
Pacman doesn't know how to handle a clincher, I heard he was as weak when it comes to grappling strength, Mosley said Pac wasn't very strong and said Floyd was actually very strong in terms of clinching, Floyd held onto Mosleys arm for dear life and Mosley tried to yank that sucker out but he couldn't because Floyd has that kung fu grip he can squeeze the arm really tight so he can recover and you can't yank it out.
