I get its Floyds money that he earned and he could wipe his ass with it, but why the need for so much jewelry? He doesn't have enough?

There is a difference between being broke and being bankrupt. Broke implies zero while bankrupt is more that you owe more than you have to pay but you still have something. Floyd buying stupidly like this will cost him in the end no doubt but with how he otherwise burns through money blowing money on jewelry which is a relatively stable commodity is pretty good for him. It is not an investment because it will probably never be worth more than he paid but it will always hold a real solid value. When time comes to liquidate Floyd's assets having stupid stuff like this on hand means a lot more than betting slips, expensive man purses and shoes that look like moon boots.

Other than you, who do you think gives a damn about this? boxers have been going broke for as long as they've been boxing. some of the best boxers of all time; langford, louis, robinson, died having lost their fortunes. robinson fought and fought and fought well beyond his best. legend has it that langford was discovered in a dark basement, having gone completely blind. unlike most careers, boxing income can stop pouring in abruptly. mayweather could break his hand on his first day in the gym, and never fight again. he could lose his next fight. at the very least, in 10 years, he's not going to be fighting at a top level.

To that, you can also add at least another $70m for the two Maidana fights. He's got a successful gym (Mayweather Boxing Club), a successful brand company (TMT), and a budding promotional outfit, Mayweather Promotions, with some promising fighters (Ronald Gavril and Kevin Newman II stand out), while starting the entire process counting down from $200m in cash. When he's not fighting, outside of the trips around the world (some of which he's being paid for), Floyd's in Vegas, hanging out at his crib, making sports bets, or hosting parties at clubs (many of which he's comped for). The fact that folks here so fervently wish the man ill is hilarious.

WTF is the guy thinking dropping hundreds of thousands on jewellery for his entourage. I dunno, i reckon the guy cant really make strong connections socially so thats why he buys all tho sh*t for people. I read an article about it. This is misleading. Sometimes he pays his team, and sometimes he doesnt. Sometimes he pays them late, sometimes he just pays them whenever he wants. He compensates by buying them jewelry and paying for trips.
