Miguel Cotto Vs Timothy Bradley

Canelo is not a champion and so he has no obligation to fight a top contender. Cotto is a world middleweight champion and therefore has an obligation to his title, boxing fans and worthy contenders to fight somebody good in the weight class he is champion of. Canelo is fighting Kirkland because he is the best available fighter he could get on short notice after Cotto cured out. I would much rather be a Canelo fan than a Cotto fan. Canelo never lets me down and Cotto often disappoints. Being a champion? So what's your excuse for Canelo dropping his JMW so he could fight at 155 only? That's b*tch sh*t. And Cotto is a champion... great, he gets to fight who he wants before he faces his mandatory. It's called a voluntary and every fighter gets one after winning the title. This fight is sh*t, but a truer statement cannot be written. Bradley's best win is Manny, if you don't want to count it fine he beat JMM legit. What's Kirklands best win? When your defense is "Kirkland is bigger" it's on the Floyd Mayweather level of nuthugger defending. Kirkland doesn't belong in the same ring with Canelo, Cotto or Bradley off of sheer talent and boxing ability. The only thing to complain about the Bradley fight is it being at MW which makes it a joke. If they fought at 152 just for the hell of it, what is there to hate about that fight? It's two top 10 P4P fighters facing each other... There's not even one in the Canelo/Kirkland fight, not even top 10 at MW which is where they are fighting.

Bradley is an inside fighter. He's awkward, uses his head a lot to come in, he ducks and dives, and is very short so he's hard to box from the outside, unless you have fast legs and hands and good skills. But, Bradley was able to punch and slip against JMM because JMM is damned slow and his style is to take punches to punch. But, Bradley isn't really a range fighter, and he's short. Cotto will be able to find him, and probably punish and KO him. Bradley simply does not have the power to keep Cotto off him.

Cotto will win this pretty easily. He probably has a good chance at a TKO victory. He is just a stronger and better fighter than Bradley. Not to mention bigger.

Cotto by decision. Timmy is a tough little dude and because of that I think he can survive Cotto to see the final bell. He'll be scrappy throughout the fight but he just doesn't have the power to beat Cotto.

Cotto beat Martinez over 8 months ago so if he was a good champion he should have already defended his title twice against MIDDLEWEIGHTS. Instead Cotto takes a year vacation and then when he finally defends his 160 pound title it almost certainly will be against a welterweight. Bradley is a natural 140 pounder and he fought at that weight during most of his prime with no problems making weight. He has no business in the same ring with the much bigger, hard hitting Cotto. Short Bradley will have to come forward to hit Cotto. Bradley's power is no threat to Cotto and the much heavier and stronger Cotto will work Bradley over to both body and head, I think Cotto will stop Bradley in 8 rounds or less. Cotto is going to walk this dude. I don't understand why everyone thinks Bradley is so slick. He isn't he is strong and he okay at everything but not good at any one skill. Plus this guys best weight is 140. All the weight lifting in the world won't help him. Bradley's footwork is top-notch. Just watch him move around the ring vs Peterson, Marquez, and yes even Pacquiao. If you look at all of Pacquiao's opponents in recent years, they all either run from him (Algieri), shell up against him (Mosley, Clottey, Rios) or counter him (Marquez) as their defense. Bradley didn't shell up and he never really ran from Manny either; he boxed with Manny and it's his movement that let him do it. With that said I don't know how Bradley's movement and speed carries to higher weights. I suspect that it doesn't. Cotto's a small middleweight too though, I don't think he'd come in with much of a size advantage. This is a pick-'em fight imo, even with Roach in Cotto's corner. I'm backing my boy Bradley by decision.

I think Tim can outbox him to a win. If I am Miguel I'd BE VERY CAREFUL about making this fight. This has all the makings of a another "Bradley decision win" like the Manny fight. Then we know what happens after Bradley wins. Cotto better knock him out or make the ref stop the fight.
