floyd career aint that great

Name me one person who consistently fights the best after best? Only thing fighters can do is fight the best available options. Meaning someone from Top 10. And right now, Floyd's the only one doing that. And Mosley had his best career win when Floyd fought him. And before you say Mosley had a long layoff, so did Floyd. Didn't have the right gameplan, is a stupid excuse. "Mosley was too old" He fight's someone young. "Ortiz was too inexperienced" He fights someone younger than him, but is still experienced. "Uh..uhh Cotto's too...old" He fights someone who is young but has had 43 fights so he has some experience. "Uh uhhh, well the Canelo fight. We haven't used the weight draining excuse yet right? Yeah! The catchweight!" And he didn't fight the right fight. Canelo shouldn't have boxed with the boxer!" So he fights a mauler/brawler "Maidana won that!" So he fights him again "Maidana...gloves...and he didn't have a 6 pack that night" Like damn! This type of nonsense is normal here in boxingscene. People like me are the weird ones. Sh*ts crazy. Yes, nobody can have the perfect opponent every time but the point is that Floyd manages to do that too often and YOU Floyd fans protect Floyd's cherry picks. No, Floyd didn't have a long layoff like Mosley when he fought Mosley. He had a fight with Marquez about 7 months before the fight. While Mosley hadn't fought in about 16 months! When Floyd fought Marquez, he said it was to get rid of the cobb webs. Plus its not as easy to come back from such a long layoff when Mosley did it. Mosley was approaching 39 years old. Even Floyd said that his game plan was to take advantage of Mosley being old. So is Floyd crazy too when he comes up with them lines? :lol1: I can go on but I see that you are just trying way too hard to protect your hero Floyd. .

Algeiri had the wrong game plan against Pac. He should have come out of his cage earlier.

I'm really no Floyd fan, but you can break down every fighter's resumé like this. Floyd may have avoided some superb fighters and fought others either side of their primes, but many other fighters have similar caveats to their wins.

They were top 10 alright but definitely not the best at the time they were cherry picked. Top 10 these days also depend on who you ask.

Taken all together his career is great but he is guilty of picking the easiest fight at the right time more than anyone else in history. Certainly an all time great but there are probably 8 welterweights that I would say would beat him head to head throughout history and more than 10 that I would say were "greater". What was Floyd thinking in fighting Baldomir (who people said he would not fight and was ducking at the time), a guy who had not lost in 8 years and was the lineal champion at the time? I like how people either say someone "had the wrong gameplan" against Floyd, or they just quit/stopped doing what worked. In reality, Floyd is the master at adapting. I seriously doubt the result would have been any different if Canelo chose to brawl, because as the Lara fight showed, he's terrible at cutting off the ring, and is flat-footed.

No one has a good career. Every win anyone has ever had, the opponent had the wrong fight plan.
