I have to go with my boy Manny Pacquiao on this. No doubt the buffoonish term ******* will be thrown about but I think he achievements speak for themselves. He's been running a train on murderers row for years. Precious little let up and an incredible comeback from one of the greatest KOs of all time.
So many other fighters are in with a great shout too especially Roberto Duran and Ray Leonard.
Roy Jones Jr. easily. He started his career as a 154 pound Jr. Middleweight. Eventually moved up to super middleweight and easily defeated a young, more experienced James Toney who at the time was the best pound for pound fighter in the world.
Wladimir Klitschko is the greatest HW of all time TO DATE in absolute terms.
The greatest "boxer" overall in my opinion so far is Manny Pacquaio.
Of course this weekend might prove that Mayweather was really the real deal after all. However in some ways even if Mayweather WAS better than Manny, there will be obvious speculation and still in some ways Manny is always better than Floyd no matter what the outcome.
A true peoples champion.
In some ways that's indomitable!
B-Hops losses now don't mean much either. Ali's, Louis's, Duran's, basically all ATG's losses when they are shot to **** don't mean much just like Leonards don't.
Enough of this circle jerk. The fight is in no time at all.
If that's so then you've got to count Pacquiao's early career and his losses to weak opposition.
Yes indeed, but he's more than made up for that wouldn't you say? lol
JMM and B-Hop also have early losses but it doesn't count much against them because they did so well later on.
No, they won't. Well, no one worth listening to.
Ray Leonard is undoubtedly a great great fighter, but he is very near to Pac in terms of greatness. You have to count his later career when it's all said and done.
Pac will be above Ray Leonard if he wins tonight. People will be saying he's the greatest of all time, or minimum top 5 if he KO's Floyd.

Ray Leonard with Duran close second.
Resume wise the quality is there for everyone to see and in the ring he was as complete as you can get. Any question you have about a fighter was answered with a prime Leonard, his chin? iron, slightly slept on power at 147 and excellent killer instinct. Can fight 15 GRUELING rounds, obviously great speed and great heart to bounce back from adversity, nice punch variety.
Leonard although not greater was more complete than Ali imo.
Pacquiao beating Mayweather would definitely put him higher up historically but i'm not convinced it makes him greater than Leonard.

Even if he wins he wouldn't. Likewise, if Floyd wins he wouldn't pass SRL or Duran either IMO.
I totally disagree. Pacquiao's achievements are up there with Duran and Leonard, leaps and bounds ahead of Floyd's.
I think even if Floyd beats Pac he won't have surpassed Pac's achievements.
It depends if it was a robbery or not, but if he's legitimately beaten then yes he is not the greatest since Ali, probably like 3rd 4th or 5th. It's between Pac and Leonard for me now. Rising through the weight classes as he did, beating stellar opposition along the way, really counts for a lot.
If he wins would you say Pac would over take SRL and Duran as the best since Ali?

100% you haven't watched it lol. Duran came on strong in the end and knocked Barkley down and almost finished him. But Barkley won like 8 of the rounds I think.
Pac is the greatest since Muhammed Ali and he will show it very soon. Everyone will come back to this thread and eat dat crow dough.
are you really gonna start calling me a liar now because we disagree?
try not to go full retard on me please
If he loses, would you agree that Pac is not the greatest since Ali?
