He's a great role model, especially for young kids, yet he doesn't have much popularity outside of the ring but he deserves much more credit for what he's done and accomplished.
Let's see here... he is humble, a gentleman, a spokesperson and a university graduate with a PhD in Sports Science, him and his brother Vitali helps children in Africa, donates to charity and possibly many other things unheard of.
Yet we have Floyd Mayweather as the boxing icon of the sport who's arrogant, flamboyant, not a great role model especially with his history in domestic violence with ex partners, gambles, strip clubs, womanizing and so much more.
I'm starting to think the media is messed up unless it's only AmericanTV that promotes this kind of behavior. Is it all really for entertainment?
What do you think?
Pacquiao avatar, goes on to say Mayweather gambles, womanizes, hits women, when Pacquiao had gambling problems, drinking problems, cheat on his wife, smoking problems. Basically a hypocrite.
The guy says why is Wlad not popular in the U.S. but only cherrypicks Mayweather, out of Pacquiao, DLH, Tyson, he picks only Mayweather. Yeah, seems like a legit thread.
you seem to be taking it very personally
if Klit was a rapist cannibal mugged old ladies gold toothed psycho like Tyson he would be a big star among americans who are sliding into the third world
No, it doesn't bother me. I'm just saying that nobody will ever be as big as Ali, or even Louis. Mayweather cannot be compared as he more belongs in the Celebrity wing of athletes. To me, he suffers from the same irritating fame as Peris Hilton, rather than a Global sport figure like Ali (Or Jordan)
Those were the early days of Boxing's history. The first half of a decade. Everything was blown out of proportion.
Now-a-days, your average black person in the key demographic is more likely to get excited over tickets to a Riff Raff, Rap concert, then put a Joe Louis type on a pedestal.
klit bros KO Louis and ali in the same night one after the other
Right now Floyd is known in America but not a household name, Pacquiao is known in America by the same amount of people who know who Floyd their names are linked so you cannot say one guy is more well known in America because both guys name are tied to each other. If you know who Floyd is you know who Pac is vice versa.
Floyd is the second most well known Boxer in the Philippines, in fact Floyd ruined his chance of being beloved in that country, Filipinos are known to embrace opponents of Pacquiao if they beat him humbly or lose humbly. So more Filipinos know who Floyd is in the Philippines than Americans know him, because Floyd and Pac names are tied together. So if there are 110 million filipinos I would say at least 90 percent know who Floyd is, in America maybe 10-15 million Americans know who Floyd and Pac are.
Just because Floyd makes the most money in boxing doesn't mean he is super famous in America he is just the king of his niche, its the model that permits him to make this type of money, all it takes is 2 million people at a ppv price point of close to 80 bucks of the over 300 million in America for him to make ridiculous money. I still walk in the street and meet people who have no clue who Floyd and Manny are. and the ones who do know who Floyd is are always saying when is he going to fight Pacquiao and vice versa.
Floyd and Manny are only known by boxing fans in Canada and UK so they are only known by niche fans so not famous, same with Wlad just boxing fans so no transcendence there.
Only difference is Pacquiao and Wlad's big Brother Vitali are known by political figures, meaning they are sought out by powerful world leaders, Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton want Pacquiaos endorsement if she runs, Marco Rubio went to the Philippines to get Pacquiaos endorsement if Pacman didnt have power or clout why would these US politicians seek out Pacs endorsement? they do this because they are working on foreign policy and international affairs they see the possibility of Pacman becoming president and see his power and gravitate toward it, Floyd is not involved in that aspect and will never be a political figure like an Ali, but Pac is on that level he just had meetings in Washington DC with harry reid and was invited and attended the national prayer breakfast with powerful world religious figures.
In Germany Wlad is the man, in Ukraine he is well known but even not that well known by his own people to the point of being a household face.
In the Philippines Pacquiao surpasses both guys, in terms of beloved he actually has 90 million Filipinos stop just to watch him fight that is power.
In 10 years you will probably see Vitali Klitschko, Wlads big bro as the president of Ukraine, and Manny Pacquiao as the President of the Philippines and the two will have meetings.
Wlad will be married with more kids and retired with his pretty actress wife, and Floyd will no longer be relevant toward the young world star hip hop fickle crowd, he is like a flash in the pan because the market or demographic he has is quick to move on they are ego based fans who like to insult people if they are no longer relevant so they will quickly drop Floyd like a bad habit and move to the next thing. he will be busy trying to hold onto his relevance by going on a reality show, and will probably have more lawsuits by women accusing him, and half his fortune will be gone from gambling and other financial issues.
Floyd had the chance to build his brand but his name is so soiled that nobody wants to endorse it.
people don't and never will idolize wlad like they do Floyd or Manny. if that bothers wlad's fans, too bad.
They might over in Yurop...
But then, who gives a **** about Yurop? :usa1:
But nobody will ever be that big. Joe Louis sold out arenas and had black people parading around in public after every one of his victories. Times are changing.
WTF? that made no sense.
people don't and never will idolize wlad like they do Floyd or Manny. if that bothers wlad's fans, too bad.
Dude the words "baddest" and "safety" don't really go together.
Floyd has proven himself. He makes in 1 fight what wlad makes in 3. Wlad is even behind Manny in terms of being the man in this sport. Maybe that's why he isn't idolized-because these 2 little guys get way more respect from fans.
Look dude, I'm just trying to answer the question. we get it, wlad is accomplished. But you aren't a leader if no one follows you. don't get mad at me.
3? try 7-10....
MANLETS!
Purely from a aesthetics standpoint, it looked a bit ridiculous seeing the two square off during the Miami Heat game. These are the supposed giants/Titans of the fight game, yet they're smaller then the smallest NBA point guard around.
It's like when It's Tyson-Lewis, every Average Joe of every size knows that they couldn't fuk with these two. Even Lewis, who was more of a cutie boxer. But with Pac-Floyd, the average 6'6 guy has got to start thinking to himself, I think I could whoop either one of these two. And if not, it would look ridiculous watching them try to whoop on me.
OK. Look man, I don't know what to tell you. People just don't gravitate toward wlad as they do those guys. Wlad will never be the worldwide figure that ali or Tyson was.
Is what it is.
Exactly, a 6'7, 250 pound speciman who Ko's everything in sight does not have a "baddest man on the planet vibe", even though no Boxer below Heavyweight can touch him, simply for the reason that he is a sweet science, safety first boxer.
So image how Floyd must feel. After all, he does have more of the Mike Tyson boxing celebrity status then Wlad himself. I even noticed that Floyd put on some muscle just purely for aesthetics as he does have a lot of fan fare and paparazzi following him around. He wishes he was that BIG MAN of the Boxing world, but unfortunately he is only the best and undefeated IN HIS TINY REALM of 140-154 pounders and manlets.
Dude the words "baddest" and "safety" don't really go together.

It must be emasculating for Vlad knowing he was cold-****ed by a member of the PGA..
Vlad has never been cold KOed ever!
He has always finished a fight on his feet, and that only time he ever got sparked for "punching" reasons, he got up multiple times, unlike say Lennox Lewis who was 2e sparked out cold with 1 punch and he wasn't getting up.
Wlad is favourite against all the recent champs, on par with VK and LL, probably better at his best!
Prior to Tyson, there isn't even a HW that could compete with him.
Most of his opponnents would have utterly dominated and thoroughly wasted all the champs and contenders prior to 1980's.
That is a fact and everyone know it! ;)
Anything to the contrary is nothing but romanticised American tripe unfortunately!! :boxing:
It's actually quite sad now...
Sickeningly so!!
He rules in a weak era.
His retired big brother could unretire at any given moment and beat him up.
He only fights at long range. Anybody that gets close enough to punch him gets hugged and those long enough to fight him at long range have thus far been painfully inept.
He suffers a small but vociferous group of fans( surely the minority) that are relentless in their cringeworthy attempts to make him greater than he is and that is saddest because he and his brother appear to be excellent role models.
I bet Floyd Mayweather cries himself to sleep knowing that no matter how long he stays undefeated, there are guys out there that he not only cannot beat, but couldn't even compete with. It's like comparing a toddler and an adult and which of the two would win in a fight.
It's gotta be emasculating for Floyd knowing that, since he wants a bit of that "baddest man on the planet" vibe along with his celebrity status and wealth.
Yeah, whatever.
Wlad doesn't have the "baddest man on the planet vibe". More people think Jon Jones from UFC is that than wlad. Maybe that is another reason why he isn't idolized.
Sorry dude, but wlad will never be Ali or Tyson.
He's a great role model, especially for young kids, yet he doesn't have much popularity outside of the ring but he deserves much more credit for what he's done and accomplished.

What do you think?
Wlad just isn't that good that he would be idolized. He is dominant, but he isn't on Floyd's level. I think that's one reason.
Its also most "good guys" are not idolized, especially in American sports. Babe ruth, Ali, jim brown, LT, Dale Earnhardt, Iverson. All flawed. People tend to idolize those they have something in common with.
According to u past fighters would get whooped today, because they're bigger, stronger, faster etc..
They are treated like finely tuned racehorses so you say in other posts on this matter...
So why are the Klitschkos an exception?
Because, this Reloaded guy..
He is an idiot.
He is a pure idiot and he doesn't actually believe what he is saying.
There is no era pre-80's that can even hold a candle to the Kitschko's competition let alone a Klitschko themselves.
I wonder what Sultan Ibragimov would have thought about losing to a joke like Max Schmelling?
Of what Alexander Povetkin would think about having a "tough" war with Joe Frazier? :lol1:
The situation could appropriately be summed up as this...
"Klitschko dominates opponents who would in turn dominate and KO any and all champs of the past beyond any doubt prior to about 1980, with only a very few exceptions."
THAT^^^^ Is a fact!
And it's a no-brainer!
Everybody knows it!
So let's drop the garbage already!
It's like comparing a horse drawn cart to a Ferrari. It once WAS the same thing but it is no longer even comparable!
I wouldn't go that far to say its cheating. Its bending the rules and using your physical advantages. I hate that style of boxing as much as anyone but its not cheating.
It's cheating when Wlad does it. When someone like let's say Bernard Hopkins does it it's a sweet science and anyone who disagrees with that notion don't know **** about boxing.
No it's cheating when everyone does it. It's illegal according to the rules, even punishable. But it's just a more accepted way of cheating. There are many forms of cheating and many of which are generally accepted as 'part of the game' but it's cheating nevertheless.
Just like elbows and using your head, being rough on the inside, punching below the belt.
I don't like the leaning/holding really, but I can appreciate that the fighters do what they have to do to win. My main problem is that it messes up the flow of the fight making it unbearable to watch. And go through my post.. Ward, Hopkins, Wlad I treat them all the same.
Only difference is that Hopkins is generally fighting guys bigger than himself. He is a middleweight. Wlad is a super heavyweight fighting guys much smaller and inferior to him in skills too. So I don't see why he does it when he clearly can win cleanly.
Literally 95% of this forum DKSAB  Its really true though, even in threads where guys try talk tactics and such its immediately obvious they have no clue what they are on about.
Even though i might have laughed at Rockins meltdowns many a time, the dude hit the nail on the head with a lot of stuff he said.
rockin is one of the most knowledgeable posters on this forum. when he talks about boxing, i listen. i also laugh at people who laugh at his pro record.
give me a link to your boxrec, you ****in hypocrites.
Hmm i see your point somewhat but I have seen plenty of guys here talk Hopkins and Ward down for their tactics. All i'll say is that these guys are in a fight and when your in a fight a smart fighter does what he can get away with if it suits his style.
it's a part of boxing, anyone with brain knows it.
try explaining that to 90% of retards who post on this forum, though.
I wouldn't go that far to say its cheating. Its bending the rules and using your physical advantages. I hate that style of boxing as much as anyone but its not cheating.

Im white your point is mute , the HW division over the last 10 yrs is pitiful , is what it is .
