Hi i was wondering what is needed to require The Hitman style (Thomas Hearns)
i just joined boxing gym a month ago and im trying to adapt to a style im 6ft and have long arms
im in the super flyweight category and close to bantamweight , so something between 118-120 lb is as high as i can go! i am 18 btw turning 19 this year!!!
I have a decent jab and my right has ok power, but im using a weird stance i keep my left arm WAYYY OUTTT like foreman and just parry the shots and counter back, i don't use my shoulder but my elbow to throw flurrys of jabs, is this the way to go or no?
My opponents are mostly between 5ft4 and 5ft7 lol always! , il never meet anyone my height its weird
Thanks! :boxing:
6 ft plus at 118-120 pounds wow lol. I'm around that weight and like 6 inches shorter than you, thats freaking insane. Just pump out that jab and keep the fighter away from you, shouldn't be to hard.

Practice only your up jab over and over for a couple rounds. Just let your arm hang loose by your side and jab away
I wouldnt say hearns has an unique style. He is a tall fighter who fought tall most of the time. Good boxing skills, good jab and reach, good fotwork. Even without his legendary power he would have been a really good boxer.
