In the Salka fight he unleashed a new weapon and it's going to be his new bread and butter if he continues to use it.
It's a jab to the gut followed by a vicious left hook ALMOSTsimultaneously. He talked about it post fight.
I'm interested to see if it works on Peterson, and if Danny continues to use it.
It's a helluva 1,2.
Thoughts?
EDIT: Or was it a jab to the gut, right hook?
If Peterson boxes Garcia, he'll win running away...literally speaking!
Danny is a very solid mid-range hooker. Average when outside, clinching when inside.
Garcia was a good champ when he fought Matthysse but he has been a lousy shot picking champ since then. He needs to try this new weapon out on Lucas in a rematch since Lucas is still his number one challenger and was beating him before the eye injury. I hope Peterson beat Garcia because I think he has the courage to rematch Lucas. Garcia is a good fighter but I don't like him or his dad. I'll be watching for Garcia's new weapon. I am a Matthysse fan and believe he is the 2nd best 140 pounder in the world with Pacquiao being the best even though Manny fights at 147 now.
he was actually ranked 77th at LIGHTWEIGHT!!! that truly is a shame.
... But the bare fact that he was KOd flat by Danny in the 2nd round, made Boxrec elevate him at #48... That's what you call "respect" in boxing...
LOL you're cool man, you only log into this account when you want to trash Garcia. Why not trash him on your main account like a man?
Anyhow, I start to take a liking to fighters everyone hates so you guys are turning me into a Garcia fan slowly but surely...
Also, I like how we strayed so far off topic. You guys made this about the Salka fight. When it almost has nothing to do with the Salka fight.
I'm surprised he still shows his face after the Lucas fight. He made such an ass out of himself i was embarrassed for him
Poor Salka got freaking destroyed!!
lol, i know right?
i really hope that fight didn't fck him up too badly..
hopefully no permanent damage, but it was just fkn sad.
they better have paid this kid a decent cut godamnit
lord knows DSG didn't deserve 6 figures for that ridiculous display..

The point is, with the level of opponent like Salka, garcia could do whatever he wanted with him, you might even say he was reckless in parts. I can bet you any money he has far more skilled sparring partners on which to work on technique with. So no that negates any improvements, that's like saying Pacmans KO power is back if he KO'd a 77th ranked lightweight
:lol1: well that's stretching it a bit considering the only fight it has anything to do with is the Salka fight.
I understand that. But I was talking about a specific thing in that fight. It's like I tell you about a cool pair of Jordans I like at footlocker and you keep telling me how much you hate Footlocker. Just focus on the damn Jordans!

It was a jab to he body followed by a right hook.

Jerking off over the Salka fight... "Gift" fans just have no shame whatsoever. :D

Oh, really? Well damn, he was unranked then at the weight! Real nice Team Garcia, real nice.

If there was ever a good time to attempt to work on some new things it would have been that fight, so I don't think TS is wrong for looking for some nuance even in a crap fight. A lot of people thought he lost his previous fight so I'd hope he would have gone into that fight trying to work on some of his issues.
Personally, I wanted to see him work on an uppercut in the Salka fight and I don't think he did that. I think that is the missing punch in his arsenal and it's one of the reasons why Herrera was able to come in on him so easily. But I'm just some guy....Perhaps they think straight shots to the body will be what is best to maintain the distance he likes either way at least they seem to acknowledge the problem
I think he is going to have similar issues with Peterson getting under him on in the inside.

I suspect it was very difficult for Danny to throw at will against a smaller guy, who wasn't even ranked at the lightweight... Wait: I just found out that he's ranked at #48 at 135lb, by Boxrec.
I don't really see anything majorly new there.
If he had some new great weapon and was confident in himself he wouldn't be picking on bums and refusing to fight at WW, or even JWW, just fighting at catchweights.
His two big wins, Garcia outweighed his opponents by quite a bit. He comes in around 160, while Khan was 147 and Lucas was 150.
At WW, his only advantage will be gone, and his reach already sucks, low work rate, his range is medium to close, but he's not really an inside fighter either. I think most of the top WWs beat him quite easily. I think he knows this.
I hope Peterson actually beats him, but I don't know if Peterson has the boxing skills, although he might. And the bigger concern is, he looked very soft against Lucas. Those hip testosterone implants that feed you steroids everyday make you an absolute beast apparently. It's meant to be incredibly effective.
Against Khan, his energy and strength on the inside was unreal. He looked more sticky than many of the greatest inside fighters. But, you take all that fake strength and energy away, Peterson is a lot more ordinary.
Garcia's new weapon is bringing average fighters up from 2-3 weight divisions below & then hammering the sh*t out of them. A very effective and devastating weapon.
lol more like "below average" 77th rank LW!!
a.k.a. throwing salsa at us, he threw salsa at us like it was a fkn food fight!
hey well at least he gave us a new word for this kind of shtt.. its SALSA time baby!
