There's either one champ per division or NONE at all. And i don't give a shit what a alphabet soup org has to say about it. Unless you fulfill the historical & traditional criteria of A/THE champ...you're a glorified contender sporting an alphabet soup trinket. Only one champ in the Heavyweight division and it ain't Wilder. Irregardless... Wilder destroys 'the champ' in 2-3 rds if K2 ever lets that fight happen.

I used to slate the man heavily but he earned his belt fair and square. So in a sense yeah he is a Champ he didnt duck anybody.

Wlad is THE champ but the WBC world title is still a title. If you say that it means nothing at HW, then it means nothing in every other weight division as well.

It really doesn't matter what some people on a message board personal opinion is. Deontay Wilder won a world title. Its not like he fought for a vacant world title. He is a HW Titlist. He holds a piece of the HW championship. Deal with it haters. This is it. The man has won his title. Yes, Wlad is top dog, but that doesn't take away what Wilder accomplished.

There is only one world.....there can on.y be one "World Heavyweight Champion". Wilder has proven himself to be a legitimate contender, as Stiverne was and is; but, the only this g he is "champion" of is the "World Boxing Council"...or, rather I should say he is their employee, for will he not have to pay them a sanctioning fee whenever he defends that belt? And does he not have to defend against whom they say? Either way, Wladimir Klitschko is the World Heavyweight Champion for he unified all of the belts ( save the one which belonged go his brother) and no one has defeated him for that claim. To be The Man.....you gotta beat The Man.............Wilder ain't done that yet.

I wonder if he called Vitali the "Junior Varsity Heavyweight Champ" when he held the WBC title. The exact same belt Wilder holds. I personally think Wilder has as much recognition as Champion as Vitali Klitschko before he retired. I disagree. Vitali won the belt in 2004 and but for injuries, he would have held it throughout the period 04-12, I am sure of that, even now I would doubt Wilder could beat him. Wilder is a paper titlist as much as Stiverne was, basically a fight between two contenders for an interim belt. Vitali was a proven fighter with a far better resume than Wilder, even when he first won the belt.

I think it was Fat Dan who said it best when he called Wilder the Junior Varsity Heavyweight Champ. Everyone knows Wlad is the real champ. But one day Wilder will earn his shot.
