Thurman now regular WBA champ?

Its abit stupid but its not really Keiths fault Floyd poosyweather has been hiding from him for over a year and this is coming from a guy who dislikes Thurman

The World Boxing Hall of Fame is practically defunct. They haven't inducted a new class in years. They don't have a fixed location. Hell, they don't even have a website. Either way, as long as titles are recognised by promoters, they'll be milked and used for whatever purpose.

WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF are only really recognized as actual championships because the IBHOF recognizes them. Perhaps if the IBHOF derecognizes the WBA until they sort that mess out, something may change. Theres even two HOF's, so if one changes policy, the other will pounce to take advantage. Truly a mess

The WBA should find a set of testicles and strip Floyd. That's half the problem, that some fighters can go years without defending and never fighting mandatories, while others get stripped two months after winning the belt. More belts doesn't help anything, it just makes boxing look worse. facts!!!!!

IMO, Thurman and Brook should fight each other, then the winner fights Khan. Khan isn't too keen on facing either of them.

Thurman has been the mandatory since july 2013. maidana shouldn't have even got the fight against broner in December 2013 over Thurman who was the mandatory. and Floyd beat maidana for the wba in may 2014. you are right that was a unification. the fight in September wasn't a unification though. Floyd should be stripped. mandatories should be enforced. its the only way too ensure that fighters who are ducked or just don't have big fan bases get their shot at the title. Like you said, WBA won't strip his belt same thing with WBC.

There are too many belts in boxing and most don't mean **** anyway but as a fighter I would rather fight to get my championship belt rather than have it given to me like that. Im not knocking Thurman, its not his fault but nobody should be elevated to champion, they should have to win a fight for that but that's boxing I guess. I think the belt, no matter how pointless they are, would mean much more to a fighter winning it in the ring and having that experience rather than a phone call when hes having dinner with his wife or whatever telling him hes champion now.

why not? Thurman has been the mandatory for the wba belt since 2013. and still hasn't gotten his mandatory shot. when a guy refuses too fight his mandatory, the belt becomes vacant. Floyd isn't gonna give Thurman his mandatory shot. but the wba don't wanna strip Floyd. so they just elevated Thurman so they don't have too strip Floyd. same thing at 154 with lara. Floyd is never gonna fight his mandatories, so he should be stripped of the wba belts at 147 and 154. Mayweather is the WBA Welterweight Champion. Whatever belt Thurman has means nothing until he beats Floyd. or Floyd vacates
