I'm trying to understand why Floyd hates Arum so much he would make him his excuse this time and I found this article below. What if Arum called a bluff and said he would step aside, but have internal arrangements that he will still get the money as if he were the promoter. It could make sense since everyone already have their share of the pie and it would not change how much money will be distributed to all parties.

Just one..
Here it is.
Arum was Floyd's promoter. A promoters job is to make his fighter become a star. Arum brought him to the top and got him to face Delahoya who was the top of boxing. arum got him to the path of fighting the best at the time. And when he beat Oscar.. He left arum.
UnGrateful? Yup, I believe so.
You dumbass Floyd vs Oscar had nothing to do Arum he had nothing to do with the fight he left Arum for good after the Zab fight. His contract with Top Rank was over after the Gatti fight. Goosen promoted the Sharmba Mitchell right after that not Top Rank. He used Top Rank for the Zab fight and then bought out the options to the contract.
Lamest excuse in a long line of ever-changing excuses the so-called Money man has come up with to avoid the biggest money-making fight in Boxing History. He also hates De La Hoya with a passion... yet has had no problem the past 8 years or so letting Oscar promote his fights, supply him flat-footed no hopers, and sign his checks.
Let me guess, the reason he's also avoided a speed fighter in Khan the past 2 years despite them having the same management team and working with Golden Boy is Bob Arum?
Truth is- if Floyd doesn't want to fight a guy, he won't. Doesn't matter who the promoter is.
Amen to that!

How could Rob Arum make Floyd what he is today?????? I never seen Arum hit a heavy bag or take a punch. Tell us smart guy what did Arum do that have you thinking he's the reason Floyd is the highest paid athlete ever? Just give us one example. ... JUST ONE!!!!!!!!!!

Surely the reason for the Mayweather- Arum controversy is easily explained....
Bob Arum made Floyd a champion Floyd then turned on Arum like a snake and dumped him. Floyd has repeated that same scenario so many times. Just ask his Dad. Just ask his ex confidante Leonard Ellerbee. Just ask the women he has turned on , beaten & trashed. Floyd has a serious problem He really believes his is TBE <-- ROFL
Mark my words once his charade of a career ends within 5 yrs he'll be on skid row
TBE has no intention of recovering friendly relations and good will, which is unfortunate considering he's nearing retirement. He seemed to have every intention of staying arrogant and antagonistic as if he won't get old. People will spit on this guy when he retires. Arum is an old man and won't be around for long. When he dies, people usually discard the bad and focus on the good and will be honored. Wonder what this guy will say when that time comes.
"I don't do business with arum". It is single handidly. The BIGGEST excuse I've ever heard

Who takes pictures like that with people they hate?

With all the purely retarded posters in this thread, no wonder the truth or facts get buried. Some of you dudes need a girl or a life .... pick one!!! :bottle:
For the OP: Google Mayweather's lawsuit against Top Rank and Arum for your answers.
Nah, after Arum steps aside there will be another excuse. Floyd is a lunatic lives in his own crazy world. He will not fight Pac unless he really needs to like he's down to a few millions left in the bank.

In a strange twist, Arum admits that he owes Mayweather money and said he has told Mayweather's reps why he isn't giving it to him.
"There's no question we owe him some money," Arum said. "There's no dispute there. But he owes us a lot of money, and the people he's involved with owe us even more. After 98% of the money we owed him was paid, we stopped paying him for a reason.
"We're owed ... in the millions. We welcome this lawsuit. We wanted it to be filed. We have counterclaims and cross claims against certain other individuals involved with Mayweather. This is just the opening salvo in a major battle."
Some people claim Arum still owes him money off of the Judah fight. Not sure where that came from.
It came from Bob Arum himself:
Mayweather filed a lawsuit against Arum on March 7 in Clark County (Nev.) District Court, claiming he is owed money from his two pay-per-view fights with his former promoter, against Arturo Gatti in 2005 and Zab Judah in 2006.
The lawsuit does not specify an amount Mayweather thinks he is owed because he claims Arum has denied him accounting.
Arum counters that his company, Top Rank Inc., does owe Mayweather money, but that the Grand Rapids boxing champion owes the company even more, so payment was withheld. He said he plans to countersue Mayweather and other unspecified individuals involved with the boxer.
"I don't really want to say anything further," Arum said Wednesday. "These are major lawsuits, and there are going to be major law firms handling them."
**SNIP**
Mayweather claims he was supposed to receive 85 percent of Top Rank's net revenues from the Gatti fight (which was co-promoted by Main Events), and 80 percent of its net from the Judah fight (co-promoted by Don King), on top of base purses of $3.1 million and $5 million, respectively.
Google 'Mayweather, Arum exchange legal punches' to find article (my post count is too low)
damn you're stupid. ...
Dude,
Arum made him what he is today.
It's just an excuse to duck the riches fight in sports history. Floyd just loves to quack, haven't you realized that by now?

If that's the case, then what happened to all the other fighters Oscar fought.
Why weren't they box office sensations as well?
You make it seem as if Floyd got lucky by association and not on skills and talent.
There was another guy who beat Oscar too. His name is Manny Pacquiao and he's second to Floyd at the box office.
It was Oscar De La Hoya's name that catapulted Pacquiao into the boxing pantheon of mega millions, and Bob Arum who transformed Pacquiao into a globally recognized brand.
However, unlike Mayweather and Oscar, Pacquiao chooses to not throw Bob Arum under the bus.
