Makes sense. He wasn't throwing when he had him on the ropes at time. No contest. Lucas needs to work his way up again for a title shot

No way of truly knowing if it came from training or the twelve round bout. It is common after long bouts as well as after marathons and 10k runs. But Stiverne will have to change his habits because it is a reminder that dehydration can be dangerous.
from what I could see he didnt really over do it in the fight lol he seemed lethargic from round 1 and he even said as much.
my major point is, this may just be an excuse from team king.
stfu and move on bermane, no good can come of basically admitting you were ill prepared (be that over or under trained, dehydrated, etc). if you and your camp messed up, its on you. if he was so messed up, he'd have pulled out before, like so many do (froch now, for example)
Man, I studied this last year. That shows that he over did it in training at some point and often linked to dehydration.
Is this proven or just some BS from the Stiverne camp. Whatever though, Wilder would've won either way.

I don't see how Stiverne would have handled Wilders jab, dehydration or no dehydration.
Plus Stiverne caught Wilder flush with hooks on several occasions and Wilder didn't fall.

I don't think it works that way, I thought rhab only happens during single session workouts that are super intense.
If he actually had rhab he Would not of been able to walk in the ring, You can die from it.
It is possible it could of occured during the fight though, which suggest he didn't Train hard enough.

You get rhab from your body overworking.
Stiverne is one of the least active fighters in the sport, and even turned down a tuneup, the guy is simply lazy, and his body broke down on him when asked to perform.
With Wilders reach, he couldn't simply sit against the ropes the way he did vs Arreola, he couldn't get away with being lazy.
Problem for Wilder with all this now is that there is still a little doubt.
Because he failed to KO Stiverne over 12 via accumulation, yeah Stiverne might have an iron chin but it can also be partly attributed to Wilder's punch NOT being as hard as claimed.
WK would have sparked him guaranteed.
His chin and stamina were also not quite tested as expected either.
Of course, ^^^ This is the worst case scenario. He displayed more than he ever has before. It's unclear his limits on chin and stamina yet because he's never been really pushed or crunched yet.
But I think we can assume he isn't a KO artist at top level. His power was dangerous against bummy boxers mainly.
This was the best opponent he had faced by a mile. He showed a lot of improvement and promise. Give him a year or two and will be ready for a showdown with the Klit. Will he win, my guess would be no but he will make it real exciting.
seen it a thousand times, the loser had this weird medical condition, no wonder he lost, he overtrained, he was dehydrated, blah, blah, blah.
what happened was simple, he ate a thousand jabs, couldnt get inside where he needed to and got his ass whipped. End of story.
This is exactly why I gave Wilder little to no credit for that win. When the guy can barely move and you still can't knock him out even with accumulation?

Stiverne didn't look like the same fighter who knocked out Arreola.
He wasn't fighting Arreola. Fighters are not going to look the same way against every opponent. Different styles, different fights.
Stiverne has been full of excuses but claims " no excuses."
If you're feeling good enough to talk big before the fight and step in the ring then you should accept your loss and move on.

How does he apparently train that hard yet look like he was binge eating donuts the whole camp judging from his physique? Hire a nutritionist and a conditioning coach too.
I was thinking along the same lines. I fully expected Stiverne to beat Wilder, and was disappointed by his performance. However, him saying that he overtrained for this fight raises my eyebrows. His physique ceratinly didn't suggest that. His stamina appeared shot too, though overtraining could cause that. Coming into a HW bout dehydrated just doesn't add up. Anyway, if what he says is true, I hope he has a rematch clause in the fight contract that he can exercise. Wilder didn't really impress me either. Once he realized he couldn't just get Stiverne out of there and he felt his power, Wilder went on the retreat for most of the fight.
