That was levels ahead of Stiverne? Why do people keep acting as if Stiverne is some scrub? He has ko power in either hand and showed a monstrous chin.
Vitali's best wins since coming back:
-Arreola (Stiverne destroyed him twice)
-Adamek (Stiverne would KO this blown up Cruiser)
-Solis (Another KO for Stiverne)
-Briggs
-Sosnowski
-Johnson
-Gomez
-Peter (severely passed it)
Stiverne would KO most of these guys. Why are people acting like these opponents Vitali fought are levels ahead of Stiverne? Stiverne is just as good a name, if not better than all those guys. Certainly has more power/durability than all of them.
Povetkin was already pursuing klit being the WBA regular champ.. this is common Knowledge! Give credit where it is due!ANDDD NEWWW!!!
Lmao.
I quit....
Wilder is the next kingpin of the division.
Maybe haye, Povetkin lost to Klitcko, Chagaev caught a disease, and perez lost to Jennings. Arreola at least beat Mitchell who the WBC thought very highly of for the mando spot, so Arreola was justified and Stiverne was the true WBC HW champ. I don't see what the problem is?
Dude.. I said at the time they fought for the VACANT BELT.
At that time, Pov hadn't fought Klit yet. Perez hadn't fought Jennings yet. and Mitchell... dude, mitchell was the american hype. Everyone is so eager to have an amreican champ that they will back anybody with a undefeated record.
Mitchell had a damn Lyle/Foreman type fight with Witherspoon and that pretty much summed up how good he was going to be.
The quality of Stiverne, that's what we're debating. He's a quality fighter, better or just as good as anybody Vitali has faced since his comeback.
You're telling me he has a good chin.. so many BUMS have good chins. I'm not sure how that makes him a great fighter overall just because he withstood some heavy blows by a power puncher.
Great fighters earn that title.. he hasn't earned it yet. that's all I'm saying.. yikes. You guys are crucifying me for what, exactly? because I don't think highly of the guy and back up my reasons why logical arguments? Come on! He hasn't beaten anyone, that's a damn fact. No body, NOBODY should be given that much praise without earning it. I don't care if it's my damn brother (someone i'd be bias for). You gotta earn that praise.
But styles make fights.. and judging by the performances where Stiverne had to deal with a tall guy in front of him.. I think it's obvious Stiverne doesn't look as good as he actually is against those measurements. It's just something he doesn't seem to be very comfortable with.
How am I a bum alt? answer the question.
I told you all the fighters that in 2013 were better opponents than Arreola. So wtf?
I meant the user you're replying to. Look at the join date.
Did I say anywhere that Stiverne didn't have a chin? I'm so confused.. why are you asking me this? I think you have my confused with someone else.

This guy is a bum alt, no use trying.

So if he hits harder than Vitali, and nailed Stiverne in the face with those punches for 12 rounds, while rarely getting hit himself, what does that say about Stiverne's chin?
What kind of conclusion can you draw from those two things?

I believe at the time he won the title in 2013 year, haye Pov, Chagaev and perez were all better options than Arreola. Would you agree?
Don't forget, he won the title beginning of 2013
Abdusalamov was a better option too, IMO. Jennings was on Bar and so was Adamek and Cunningham IMO.
I know Arreola was ranked high for WBC.. but overall, he was behind a lot of decent contenders.
This guy is a bum alt, no use trying.
He did exactly what I said he'd do.. what are we arguing?
I know he hits harder than Vitali. Vitali hits harder than Austin. This fight looked EXACTLY LIKE THE RAY AUSTIN FIGHT. Cept the big guy didn't get tired this time.

Well he did beat Arreola who was no.3 in the HW division for the WBC rankins behind stiverne. Who was Stiverne supposed to fight? Ruiz, Helenious, Valuev,Povetkin, Who?

Wilder is a harder puncher than Vitali, who has always been an accumulation puncher even in his prime. Wilder has more 1 punch KO power, he put Stiverne down but it wasn't counted. Stiverne stood there and ate power shots for 12 rounds.
Wilder did a great job of boxing off his back foot.
He did exactly what I said he'd do.. what are we arguing?

He was, until posters predictively thought he wasn't after the fight was over mind you!
I understand that peopel were ranking him high, and he held a title (via vacancy) but did did he earn his position? That's the question I guess we have to ask. and did he beat the right guy for the vacant strap?
None the less, a lot of people praised him and I saw the poll. It was like 164 for Wilder and 144 for stiverne and like 25 for (hard to pick) or something. So that's pretty even.
You're hundred percent right. I personally just don't think a 36 year old heavyweight who won a vacant title from a journeyman is anything special. I sitll think Scott is Wilders best win and that speaks volumes.. but I have my own opinion on that too LOL. I'm not sure if you feel teh way I feel about that Kayo.. but I won't get into that.
Not nearly as valiant as Chisora.

Ok, so why is it so hard for you to give Wilder credit then?
Because I don't rate Stiverne very high, man. That's why. I Like Wilder, I like Wilder a lot. I want to give him all the praise in teh world but I'm not going to lie to myself. I never thought highly of Stiverne to begin with so I can't just suddenly praise Wilder for a win over someone I never thought highly of in the first place.
That's subjective. it's my personal feeling on the win.
I'd bet right now that Stiverne would beat Chisora, but that ain't gonna happen because who the hell is Chisora?! Lol
What does Stiverne vs Chisora have to do with Either guy vs Vitali? That's apples and oranges.
Now all of a sudden stiverne was terrible and should have magically gained fast feet overnight
I been saying stiverne has slow feet and that's why he will lose
Check my post history
Now you have geniuses saying stiverne was always a bum after the fight
No
He's not a bum
Styles makes fights
He tried his heart out
Stiverne still has fast hands and a great chin
Not a bum, agreed. But is he really at the top of the division? He hasn't fought enough names to really know. I think haye would knock him out, for example. I think Fury would beat him as well. and I believe he'd lose to Pov.
He'd be in a good fight with Takam that I think he'd win via KO, not sure about Perez (who is a complete WTF atm) and Glazkov is in the discussion, too. I just don't know how good stiverne is... no one does. He beat Arreola. We can't really gauge anything.
All I do know is that Wilder did what I expected him to do and I look foward to seeing where he goes from here. I'm sure we all are.
Stiverne and Chisora are two totally different fighters. Is that not clear?
Thats kind of my point, man. Which is why I said Chisora > Stiverne against that type of challenge. Chisora will always do better and present bigger problems against Vitali than Stiverne ever would.. because he's a different type of fighter.
I checked the poll just now, and i didn't see you on there..late vote?
I voted via my phone. Maybe I didn't log in - my bad. But as you can see there, My predicted was posted over a week ago as well LOL.
Stiverne took plenty of chances, what are you talking about? Why do you think he was getting nailed in the face over and over? He stood there and tried walking him down.
Wilder's defense is really no different than what Vitali does, and that's use that lean back/keep distance. Even if Chisora does land his power is nowhere near Stiverne's power shots.
Not nearly as valiant as Chisora.
