Did Oscar call Floyd's bluff? Oscar said the only way you get the May 2nd date is if you fight Pacquiao. I think Oscar thought Floyd never had any intention of fighting Pac but just wanted to lock down the date.
What do you think?
That is why Oscar said that he would give the May date to Floyd IF THE FIGHT GETS MADE. I have been saying this for a while. Oscar doesn't believe this fight will happen.
De La Hoya said. ; So like I said, and have been saying, I will believe Pacquiao-Mayweather will happen when I see them both in the ring.

Its simple why Floyd has a hard time making the Pac fight , Arum , get him outa the picture and the fight is made overnight , Arum is like an ex wife to Floyd , one that ripped him off , if you cant understand how that works youre just not old enough , Arum can easily step aside for this fight but he wont and its roadblocking everything .
Oscar was telling the truth thats all , its obvious that Canelo Cotto is a huge fight so its logical that the only fight Floyd could take to bump it of top spot is Manny , or Cotto .
Oscar was saying the same shyt and Floyd whooped his ass, coke boy was hiding in rehab without the heart to show..................
Everything after from Oscar is simply pure jealousy, even this elementary Canelo date game
Not everyone is a vengeful little man who would want to destroy someone over petty ish~
Bob Arum and Al Haymon probably would though, Arum would for sure and Haymon most likely.
its not a gamble though. canelo-cotto is going to make a lot of money no matter what date its on. floyd/showtime/haymon losing money is also a good thing for golden boy. with showtime out of the picture golden boy will only have to worry about haymon on nbc and haymon was counting on showtime's budget to help him setup his little dual empire. with one leg kicked out the other will fall.
Everything is a gamble, and it is a saying like don't bull**** a bull****ter.
Oscar is not winning that game so he should not even play to start, for someone who claims to know things about the sport how don't you see that. Oscar should make his own moves to be as big as possible, not worrying about destroying others in time he can get to that if it comes to it but he is not in position for that kind of move at all.
oscar built up and gave floyd easy golden boy opponents for years and floyd runs off with al haymon. i could see oscar wanting revenge for that.
So the fact that Floyd helped GBP transition away from the days when Oscar was a fighter and stay a viable company with it's name in lights is worthless.
Plus Floyd is still around their relationship is OK and Floyd does need opposition.
Literally ****ing Floyd over should be the last thing on his mind, if you think otherwise that is just showing how ignorant you are~
Yea it is and Floyd is leaving soon enough so that is a battle he doesn't have to fight like that.
Oscar needs Canelo to beat Cotto and he NEEDS it to be splashy, then time is on his side in that game as long as Canelo doesn't drop the ball.
He doesn't need to bull**** in other words, and he really is not a bull****ter so him focusing on what he does best making good fights would be the route he should take.
The move you are saying is great but there is a gambling saying, having gamble in you is great until you run into someone with more gamble than you then you are going to get destroyed. Do you really think Oscar is the one winning that sort of game, or should he just make his big fight and let that do the talking?

What does Oscar have to get revenge for against Floyd? Haymon maybe but is that really worth it.
If it was Arum making the play sure, but Oscar I don't see it.

boxing is a business remember! destroying your rival is a good business tactic. showtime's budget will be destroyed allowing hbo to get better ratings and also causing showtime/haymon fighters to get mad. some will probably leave showtime and go back to hbo/golden boy since there's not enough money to pay them well. plus if he hates floyd/hamon bad enough its just fun to make them look bad.

If it was Arum making the play sure, but Oscar I don't see it.
Oscar left Arum and made fights he wanted.
Floyd left Arum and made fights he wanted.
Cotto left Arum and made this exact fight cause he wanted and went back.
Pac............says he wants this fight, and precedent has been set of what he could do. When others were in the same position, under the same promoter. He obviously knows what to do if he REALLY wanted to fight Floyd. Pac doesnt really want this fight! Cause he could've simply done what others before him did :poke:
No one cares for your stupid posts go and play with your marbles Tyrone.
So you are one of those guys that likes to sacrifice your queen in chess? It is a good trap that almost always gets taken but there is always a purpose behind such a move.
What purpose does that serve Oscar? Floyd is not around that long and they have worked fine together same with Showtime. You want him to destroy half of the top end of boxing why? What would Oscar gain from that kind of scorched Earth policy.

Revenge...
if i was oscar i would just have canelo-cotto on the same day as floyd-flat footed fighter. sure you won't make as much but you will sink floyd's ppv and make showtime lose millions upon millions of dollars. you gotta think long term and by destroying showtime's budget canelo and hbo will have a monopoly on the industry going forward.

Oscar has no real control over the matter he has just been talking. Canelo wants the date and he is the most important thing to Oscar so that date is important to Oscar. Oscar wants those dates don't get it twisted but I am sure he would take a much longer view without stepping on a bunch of toes like Canelo is forcing.
Oscar also said he was about making the big fights and that is the best fight he can make for his guy, so him wanting the biggest stage is also to be expected.
Oscar wants stuff and a quiet mouth doesn't get fed.
yeah Right...
Ariza Out! CHECK!
Arum Out! processing....
Roach Out! next step.
Buboy Out! next step.
or floyd can just skip all those steps and do step 1 Pac out
Please God let this fight happen and they both beat each other into retirment so all these damn threads can stop
Are you kidding? The Mayweather is a coward; Pacquaio is a god threads on this site will never end. Twenty years after both are in their graves, some nitwit will create a thread stating, Mayweather ducked Pacquaio, even if they fight and Mayweather KO's Pac.
