Great Classic fight but cotto is weightdrained and pac is on steriods..look how fast and powerful he is in that fight.suspicious..he easily hurt cotto with those wild shots and he's taking all the best shots of cotto like nothing. One more thing pac is having trouble cutting off the ring while cotto is backpedaling LOL floyd will school him..and why the **** did bayless stop the fight it's the last round already..cotto wasnt really that hurt in that round!
Ahh the fight that scared the entire mayweather family ****less. Imagine mayweather trying to get that pac off him with his poweder puff punches LOL. They knew to beat that pac mayweather would have gone thru hell and floyd was\is so concerned of health that he didn't like the risk.
You just said that Eminem was your favorite rapper though.
This thread is stupid. Cotto's my favorite fighter, but I'm not gonna make excuses. Pacquiao is a horrible match up, and, quite frankly, that fight terrified the whole Mayweather family.
Wrong. His nutritionist at the time was a South African guy.

Quote " Miguel Cotto added Santiago to his payroll, as a physical trainer and nutritionist, two jobs tailored to Santiago’s schooling."
One of the most impressive displays by PAC, this was the beast in his prime.
He never had devastating one-punch KO power(Hatton was a fluke), both KD's in this fight were a result of speed and angles.
I was also once a bit suspicious.. but when you look at the facts and rewatch his fights, nothing has really changed. Even with all the testing he does now, he still has that speed and stamina. He's been coming into the ring at pretty much the same weight for over a decade, and there is absolutely NO evidence whatsoever that he ever doped. Not a single suspicious picture(acne), nor did he ever hook up with known PED dealers (unlike his "arch-rival").
He stays in shape year-round and never really blows up in weight, maybe you could make a case that his stamina is unreal, but I feel Manny has earned the benefit of the doubt here.
Never knew peds could turn a cat who only had a straight left, into a skilled asassin who developed his right hook and foot movement.
Lets face it man. Pacquaio is a complete fighter that Floyd has just used everybexcuse to avoid. He would rather live through marquez's ko of him
Exactly.....
This is exactly what I meant to tell this guy, last night but got sleepy. Manny didn't "rob" you of anything. Floyd did with his mouth and allegations. Manny was the #er 1 P4P fighter in the sport at the time. He came to Floyd's division when he retired and took it over. Floyd's immaturity "robbed" us of this fight. You don't accuse the only 8 division champion, in history and P4P best fighter in the sport, at that time, of PEDS; and then try and throw in a $40million dollar back alley offer with no PPV. Manny is a beloved, global icon. He told Floyd to kiss his ass. I would've as well. And for the record, he never refused testing AT ALL. Dude needs to get his facts straight. Manny countered that offer with a 50/50 split and testing 14 days before the fight and the night of the fight. Floyd then went into hiding again; just like he's doing right now.
wasnt cotto being trained by his cutman or something lol? this fight led cotto to become more professional and take boxing more serious.
actually his nutritionist.
This is, by far, Pacquiao's second best win and knocking on the door of the first. Yeah, you can make excuses for Miguel (no trainer, clearly lacking confidence) but at the end of the day, that's what they are. Excuses. You can not take anything away from this performance by Pacquiao.
That said, I remember having a sinking feeling in my stomach around the fourth round or so, as Pacquiao laughed at Cotto while eating shots along the ropes. That feeling stayed with me throughout the fight, as if something terribly off was taking place before my eyes.
In the end, whether you feel he juiced or not, it doesn't take anything away from the victory either. I suspect most top fighters juice anyway so how can we detract from just one? Doesn't make sense. My issue with Pacquiao was that he robbed us of the superfight with Mayweather because of testing. That...is unforgivable. Do I discount any of his wins? No. He is still an ATG and the greatest warrior of his era. Like Roy Jones, like Evander Holyfield and who knows, maybe even Mayweather. But to turn down a fight over testing? Man.
You started your post good but then went on making excuses.
As for Floyd, Floyd and company also accuses Manny of taking PEDs. That was not a good approach to take unless you don't want to fight Manny. Floyd/GB knew that it would tick off Manny and the chances of the fight happening would be less.
Manny could have played hardball too. He was riding high coming off a better PPV than Floyd and Floyd was just coming out of retirement ....... but Manny didn't. Floyd did what he did to derail negotiations then since then its been roadblocks after roadblocks coming from Floyd. Do you have issues with Floyd's roadblocks like you do with Manny agreeing with extra testing but refusing Floyd's PED rules?
Cotto also said a couple of years ago that he was drained. Those are Cotto's words. :lol1:
What Cotto said was that he would not go down in weight again just to make a fight. Lets face it, when someone beats you like Manny beat Cotto, its hard to get up for the fight unless you get some kinda confidence but Cotto didn't get that. Perhaps the Cotto of today has some of that new confidence after beating Sergio.
Remember that that same Cotto then tried to get Margarito to fight him at 150-151lbs. So that proved that it was that Cotto lacked the confidence to fight Manny so he said what he said.
All of a sudden he's just gonna decide to walk thru Cotto!!
Mosley can't knock cotto down but he can?
Come on man, come on..
If I walk with a limp or is crippled for life will you pay my bills? No money is worth my health, I'm not making Ali mistakes. I'm a rich coward, don't watch me if you don't want to watch a scared fighter.

Fair post.......
This was an impressive win for Pacquiao but I think Cotto fought the wrong fight. He stood in there a too long trying to trade with Pacquiao. Once he started getting hurt, he was in full retreat mode making it alot easier for Pacquiao. Cotto is fighting much smarter than he did in the past. He's moving a lot better and picking his spots rather than going into full warrior mode.
I don't buy the weight drain excuse. Once you walk into a professional boxing match you should be in optimal fighting shape. If not, that's on you, not on the guy beating up on you.

So Cotto would turn around and say "I was tiptop" after that beating? Just trying to extend his career with smoke and mirrors, which they all do.
Not fearing the man but fearing the cheat is entirely different thing , Carl Lewis feared Ben Johnson in the same way only that cheat got caught before he started running 30 yds slower while not on the gear .
And at the time it was Manny that ran away from a fair fight , its obvious Floyd was less scared of fighting Manny that Manny was of being tested .
and Mayweather is just as clean as Carl Lewis was :poke:
Cotto also said a couple of years ago that he was drained. Those are Cotto's words. :lol1:
"I'm a rich coward"
"My health comes first"
Famous words of a famous duck.
Fight's not happening. Your boss is too chicken.
Fighters aren't going to show weakness before a fight and actions speak louder than words. Cotto moved up to JMW after this fight. When offered a rematch with Pacquiao Cotto wanted the fight at JMW and refused to go back to WW.
That's Cotto just being smart, coz at JMW Cotto would have more resistance to a Pacquiao punch. With those extra pounds, Cotto will not suffer a knockdown, but the beatdown will be the same, or even worse coz Cotto will even be slower than when he was at WW. Well it's not that smart afterall... I guess Cotto just knows that Manny ain't going up to JMW anymore right after the Margarito fight, he already declared that WW is his ceiling...
Technically Mayweather did get Pacquiao off him, it wasn't as damaging as his punches either, all he needed to do was bring up USADA.
Funny how fast they settled that lawsuit after Pacquaios people requested Mayweathers test results ha?
You're a fking tool...
