If Haymon actually decides to put his top fighters in together in 2015, these match-ups will be some of the most talked about.
But what would you rather see, a Broner-Maidana rematch or something new in the form of Matthysse-Broner?
Vote in poll
pretty surprised nobody wants to see a chino rematch
Why? The first fight had a clear winner. Broner seems to want to be at 140, and Maidana isn't going down in weight, so it seems difficult to make anyway.
What's the point of that? Broner's last fight was a victory over a fighter who beat Mayfield in his previous fight.
I agree with you. I hate to be pessimistic about the issue, but I have strong inclination his team is going in that direction. AB-ET was a entertaining bout in Cincinnati. Stephen Espinoza(Showtime Sports Exec) was on Twitter praising the numbers. I think team Broner will milk that success in March, before moving on to Maidana or Matthysse later in 2015.
We don't have nine lives to live, so rematches are not attractive to me. Also considering the state of boxing today, fans only get to see big fights once in a blue moon. Since we have seen how the Maidana/Broner went, there's no sense in seeing it again. And if you tie them with a rematch, ie, from the day it's negotiated to the final round, it takes time. The alternatives may never come into fruition, the Matthysse fight may be gone and focused on other senseless fight.

I know lol like I said broner would easily win. But I would like to see the build-up since mayfield genuinely seems to dislike broner
i actually wouldn't mind seeing broner vs mayfield, that fight wouldn't be too competitive but the buildup would be pretty entertaining

I give him much credit for calling out and wanting to fight either one, both are dangerous fights for him. But a win over either would be huge for him as well.
Maidana-Broner wasn't close. There is no reason for a rematch.......yet. If Broner establishes himself as a legit welterweight contender then we can talk.
Until then Broner-Matthysse is the fight to make
Well how about these match-ups?
Mathysse vs Provo, Maidanna vs Rios, Broner vs Berto, and the one I truly want:
Garcia vs Peterson, Soto-Karras vs Angulo.
:boxing::boxing:
I like both bouts, but I voted for the Maidana rematch. I've heard Pops(Broner's dad) go as far as to say the Broner-Matthysse bout should only be made on PPV. Not so fast Pop's, AB is super exciting in the ring, but I dont think he's done enough to headline a PPV( I'm likely gonna buy the PPV anyway because I'm a junkie). Matthysse is a player at 140 & his power is amazing, but movement has always troubled him. AB doesn't display the best footwork so things can get interesting. I believe AB had a rematch clause, but took the step aside money for "Big Bro"(Mayweather). In that sense I see no issue in Maidana honoring that.
We may get either bout later this year, but unfortunately I don't think its coming next. AB has been talking about a March return, & I see his team still capitalizing on the Cincinnati market by putting Broner vs Mayfield there.

Matthysse would be a much more interesting match. I personally think it's a fight where Broner is on a real mindset to come back. Personally I think Broner would win a rematch with Maidana.
