Pretty impressive feat.........also all of them held major titles or a lineal title at the time he fought them or another time in their careers
Also Sharmba Mitchell is the last fighter he faced that was not ranked at welterweight when he fought them....waaaaay back in 2005
he has 14 consecutive wins over 13 past/current titlists or champs....no one else has done this
If you think Mayweather aint fighting good comp then obviously you think nobody is
That's your opinion...but the facts are
1)Mosley beat Margarito to become the number one welterweight after Floyd's retirement in '07
2) Bradley "earned" his ranking and WBOgus belt over getting a robbery win over Pacquaio, beating JMM(whose only win at the weight is over Pacquaio), he beat unranked Provodnikov and Abregu and drew with Diego Chavez who just recently made the rankings off his close fight with Desert Storm
3)Mosley was past prime, I agree but he also is a more accomplished welterweight than Bradley is or may ever be....Lineal champion....defeated Luis Collazo, Oscar De La Hoya, Antonio Diaz, Antonio Maragrito, Pablo Cesar Cano, Jose Luis Cruz, David Estrada, Wilfredo Rivera
In the end.....beating a world champion trumps beating a trinket holder
Mosley was past prime also Mayweather was but he helped him look bad because of his skills...Mosley always gets hesitant and his punch out put drops when he gets outboxed.....he is a boxer-brawler....a speedy guy that is aggressive.....Guys like Forrest and Wright showed if you box him he gets hesistant and gets all jittery..... when he fought Cotto he didn't tense up because Cotto doesnt have the outside boxing skills of these guys and he is/was a but more aggressive
ok but mosley was clearly shot. what do accomplishments matter when you are shot? roy jones is more accomplished than kovalev but kovalev is much better now just like bradley and cotto were better when pac fought them as opposed to when floyd fought mosley. mosley looked shot well before the marg fight so the signs were there. 1 fight where he looked ok(he clinched nonstop during it) and you forgot how bad he looked for years? that's not being a very good fan. pac also easily beat mosley so i dont see why that win should be so good for just floyd. are you saying mosley became shot a year after losing to floyd yet the 18 month layoff didn't matter at all?
4 out 5 weight classes he has been in he has faced the number one guy and is the only fighter today to be a unified champion in two weights simaultaneously also holds the ring titles at 147 and 154
History says otherwise and either you are just ignorant to the facts or just refuse to acknowledge what you are saying is bullshyt
130-Mayweather fought the lineal champion in his 18th pro fight, Genaro Hernandez was undefeated at the weight( wins over HOFer Azumah Nelson, Raul Perez, Jorge Paez,)
who was more dangerous than an undefeated Diego Corrales who blitzed Robert Garcia, Angel Manfredy, etc @ 130?
Mayweather also held wins over titlists Carlos Hernandez, Jesus Chavez and Goyo Vargas....defended his title 8 times
135-first 2 fights at the weight beats the best lightweight of the era...Jose Luis Castillo and defended the title 2 times
140-Couldnt get Tszyu or Hatton in the ring but defeated two top ten guys in Gatti and Corely
147-Mosley, Hatton, Baldomir, Ortiz, Mitchell, Judah, Maidana (2x), Guerrero, JMM all of these guys were former world champs/titlists and only JMM, Hatton, and Mitchell were not ranked at welterweight when he fought them. Hatton was the jww champ and JMM was the lw champ @ the time
154-Cotto, ODLH, and Canelo were all top 5 at the weight
You don't have to like a fighter but saying unfactual statements make you sound foolish
I like watching Floyd fight, but one thing i noticed is he was real unlucky to fight in the lower weights at the time he did. Even though he won the Lineal title from Genaro and beat Chico who was p4p# 5 at the time then won the lineal against Castillo they wont be remembered as true atg or hof wins, maybe borderline hof. It sucks he was already at a higher weight class because it would have been real interesting seeing Floyd coming in when 130 had the Big names like Morales, MAB, JMM, Pac, throw Floyd into that mix and it would have been some great match ups. It's like when he won his Lineal back from Mosley yes he has the lineal back but a win over Pac at 2010 greatly enhances his legacy more than a Mosley fight for the lineal.
too bad when you look at Floyd's record it says different.
Floyd and company keep on telling you that they don't care about the opponent ...... all they care is to bring in money. Even then, it depends on risk because we both know Manny would have brought in the most money .
Posted today:
Jeff Mayweather "This is a business for Floyd, that's what its about. walking away with the most money. It's not about fighting an opponent because he beat this guy or that guy. That don't matter. That don't matter to Floyd. At the end of the day, if you can do numbers, you got a good shot at fighting Floyd."
Then to sell it they make sure that the opponent has something sellable like "KO artist" (Maidana) , P4P #2 (Marquez), .... and then Floyd fans are all happy and giggly.

While there are other names that I didn't list, we both know that Floyd has been avoiding them relatively risky fights.
I can comment on each one of those you listed but the basic premise here is that Floyd is a very calculated fighter when he selects his opponents. Even Floyd's opponents say that Floyd is a very selective fighter and would rather take the easy route than the hard one. For example, Guerrero said that Floyd is that way. Heck, even Floyd says he is and says that he deserves to be. He even went further than that.
The way you continually write "but he is ranked" I'm almost even believing that you don't know the difference but then I realize who you are. A protective Floyd fan. So naturally you will "not get it"
Sergio Martinez called him out. Even said he would go down to an agreed CW. He is not even promoted by Arum. It was just too risky.
Mosley's name gets mentioned because he was the 147 champion and Pacquiao had the chance to fight him and ducked the fight for Clottey. Mayweather took the fight Pacquiao ducked.
ding, ding, ding!!!!
they will just ignore the facts, those of us that actually followed the sport then knew Mosley was trying to get that fight bad, especially when the Berto fight fell through
Mosley was supposed to fight at the end of January Berto. There was the earthquake in Haiti and Berto decided it was best to cancel the fight. Manny vs Clottey was already lined up. :bling:
"Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny. I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter." - Freddie Roach
Roach and Mosley new the story. Mosley was not going to get the fight. One was for the point that was even stated in your post and the other is that Cotto, who beat Mosley, was with Top Rank.
Come on. This is an open and shut case. Especially from Floyd fans. They always criticize that Arum likes to have fights with in his stable as much as he can. So why the change now? You are trying too hard.
but in a combat sport like boxing, isnt fighting someone coming of the best night of their careers the most dangerous time to fight them? As far as mentally anyway?
Every situation is different but if you put your objective cap on, those mentioned barley got their feet wet at WW and if you analyze the fights, red flags should be popping all over the place.
we're gonna have to agree to disagree on the oscar part. Draining himself down to 147 woulda got oscar beat the hell up by everyone on floyds list aside from baldo. Hell maybe even baldo woulda won the man was on like a 7 year undefeated streak before he fought floyd. (strange i know).
People were saying that against both Pac and Floyd about the young hungry lion stuff. Didnt floyd have some interview where he said something to that affect in his decision to fight Ortiz?
I do agree with you that mannys op was more established ww (cotto, clottey, Marg, Mosley) but all of them came after devastating loses or really bad performances. Thats my biggest gripe if you will with Pacs resume at ww. I understand the Cotto fight was big business, but why not Mosley b4 clottey? Floyd should not have gotten that fight first.
I already told you that Oscar's plan was to come light so that he can gain speed. Majority of Floyd's opponents are relatively slow and flat-footed.Oscar would have implemented a different strategy and come in "bigger"
Ortiz a lion? Sure he is in round 1 but as Floyd knew, Ortiz could be cracked and then Ortiz would turn into a ***** just like in the Maidana fight!
Mosley before Clottey? No, Mosley had a fight with Berto and that got cancelled due to the Haiti earthquake after Manny vs Clottey was already lined up. Even then, it wouldn't have been easy as the 2 sides (GB and TR) had just been over the Floyd vs Manny negotiations. Would have been tricky to say the least.
Only thing proven here is that floyd is a cherry picker who chose the easiest fights and didn't challlenge himself,so all you Larrys need to stop posting yall making your hero look like a twat
too bad when you look at his record it says different
you don't fight 22 title fights in 47 total fights and don't challenge yourself....first title in 18th pro fight....4/5 weight classes he was lineal champion
How else can he challenge himself? start fighting at middleweight or lightheavyweight even though he weighs 147-150 on fight night
you do realize that the only fighters to hold world titles under lightweight and @ welterweight or higher are Henry Armstrong( 126,135, and 147) and Floyd(130, 135, 147, 154)...............ODLH came close but @ 130, 135, and 160 he was never lineal.............that's great company to be in and if you are accomplishing things like that you are definitely taking risks....
.It must suck that you have to go through being a bigot towards the guy with no factual statements supporting your position at all
this must be an alt account cause your trolling seems familiar
let me fill you in on some boxing trivia.....There have only
Man I have seen this Manny Floyd haters get owned in a thread........actually there was another good thread a few days ago. But Boy howdy FACTS tedn to trump all that opinionated bullcrap every time..

there are no excuses. just my viewpoint that proving yourself over several fights is worth more than 1 win especially when styles make fights. mosley was done and that's my opinion. a win over a done mosley isn't as good as a win over prime cotto or bradley.

well i was talking about style matchups when it came to mosley-margarito. old shot fighter with power against guy who keeps coming forward which allowed mosley to land his power over and over. that one fight was a mirage that hid mosley's true status as a washed up fighter. i dont see why floyd fans try to pretend thats a great win when its clearly not. cotto and bradley no matter if you think they are good style matchups or not are still better wins.
That was a good match-up for Mosley no denying that. It is like a lot of his other wins, but those sort of wins add up over time. you know how you said you should judge things over time, while Floyd has done very well over time at the top of the sport. So where is your respect for that?
They are about the same, really good wins against top guys but not as great as some make them out to be.
Floyd has proven himself over his whole career, Mosley is just one small part~ I always thought Floyd would beat up on Mosley because Mosley folds up against better boxers than he and he can't holds Floyd's jock. Dude was still a real fighter though.
You do that for every Floyd fight making reason after reason for every damn fight. If that was just a one fight thing whatever but you know damn well that is not the case.
Bradley are you kidding me? That is the definition of a good style match-up for Manny be consistant~ and so was Cotto.
Real question though what fighters do you actually have respect for because you don't apply things evenly it seems~ which brings us to my main issue with you. Intellectual dishonesty, you aren't an idiot so you should be seeing that.

Are there like 20 excuses in that paragraph? That is not misleading at all right?

people still pretending mosley was good when floyd beat him? and if the raiders beat the seawhawks and then the broncos beat the raiders that would prove the broncos were the best right? putting all your stock in one game/fight etc...is pretty foolish. a season/multiple fights over time reveal the truth. mosley was crap before and after marg. did you even watch the floyd fight? the word zombie comes to mind. he had a good win for whatever reason: good style matchup, marg drained, handwraps, etc...doesn't mean he was a good overall fighter at that time. bradley and cotto when pac beat them were good overall fighters. they weren't coming off one good win while looking like sh-it before and after. if you can't see the difference you must be a floyd fan lol
LMFAO exactly these idiots think Mosley was a prime beast when Floyd beat him, he had a 1.5 year layoff, when Pac fought him and knocked him down and had him doing laps around the ring all of a sudden he was shot to sh*t, but a prime beast when Floyd fought him.

is it any wonder to you that roach downplays all of Pac's achievement?
check all roach's remark on all Pac's opponents.
