At 16 years old, Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, and Sugar Ray Robinson were flyweights. Manny was fighting as an underage professional. Mayweather and Robinson were taking the Golden Gloves championships.
Pacquiao went up to 150
Mayweather went up to 154 (Could he make 160?)
Sugar Ray went up to 175 (made the move to 175 to challenge Joey Maxim for the title)
Although Sugar Ray is the tallest of all, he still made a move of up to 60 pounds if he did weigh in at the 175 limit.
He doesn't throw combinations because he's a fragile, delicate little p*ssy that's immune to taking risks and overly concerned with pacing himself while waiting for the slobs he's fighting to inevitably tire out after the first three or four rounds.
Void used to fight in the pocket when he was younger, most notably in the Augustus, Chavez and first Castillo fights, and he got lit up with real frequency in all of them. The fighters I mentioned could fight in the pocket against the highest calibre of opposition and still shine from a pure defensive standpoint.
And unless it escaped your attention, SlurpaMan, Fat Toney fought far above his best weight than Void ever did, and you didn't see him running, potshotting and spoiling his way through fights like the Artful Dodger, simply because he never needed to.
Wrong he does throw combinations, he just only throws them when the chance presents itself. He does have hand issues, but I dont think that has anything to do with what happens in the ring because he trains to lay it all out in the ring.
You just lied and said he fights slobs LOL. Everyone he fights is twice his size and half his age. None of them tire out after no damn 3 rounds GTFO lol. They are all in their prime and in excellent shape. By the 3rd round he has you figured out IQ-wise but your going to lie and say he figures you out because your tired? GTFO with that trash I aint stoopid lol
Floyd's toughest foes are at the higher weights due to his size disadvantage and age. A 165lb Canelo will beat the snot out of a 135lb Genero Hernandez even though Genero was more proven at that point.
And Floyd stood in the pocket with Canelo and walked him down. He shoulder rolled the hell out of him and didnt get grazed at ALL. You better go back to that 4th round LIAR.
Also when he fought JMM he slipped shots from all angles. After that fight, he STOPPED slipping shots like that, and began walking bigger men down effortlessly. He walked down Shane and did it without getting hissed. He used a highguard in that fight.
After that fight, against Ortiz he began walking guys down while shoulder rolling and absorbing their power shots on his biceps and shoulders.
Against Cenlo, it was like the JMM fight, Ortiz fight, and Mosley fight all combined in one. He showcased so many versitilities in that one fight, it was amazing.
Toney threw combinations in the pocket while rolling, which is true. But he wasnt 150lbs fighting guys half his age who outweighed him by 15lbs.
The only time I ever seen Floyd "running, potshotting, and spoiling" was against Baldo, and maybe he did that against Ghost.
But that aint why people been paying to see Floyd fight. The superslick counterpuncher who fought JMM is what got Floyd to this level. The stand-down pocket fighter who walked down Canelo, is what got him to this level.
But everytime he fights, you all lie and say he was just running lol
Im not stoopid and I dont repeat things that other people say. I think for myself.
Sad thing is when Floyd walked down Canelo, millions of casual fans saw it live and they didnt know that boxing could be executed on this level. But because of people like you who lie about everyone he fights, being bums, those casual fans didnt even realize that it was greatness they were watching. They all thought he was fighting some 130lb bum fighter ranked #50 in the division. He represented for boxing that night, and you all dont realize how bad casuals talk about the best fighter in your sport. Be proud dude, because MMA dont have a fighter THAT sharp. He repped your sport that night and you should be proud to have him here!
Throwing combinations means he cant fight off the ropes, in the pocket, going backwards, forward etc? Because he doesnt throw combinations that mean he doesnt have all these skills that SRL couldnt even dream of having?
He doesnt throw combinations because he's fighting giants who are twice his size and half his age. A guy like Floyd would get KO'd if he tried to fight like Pacman because Pacman runs while throwing combos and he alot more power and stamina than Floyd. Floyd is going to punch himself out, and because he fights in the pocket he compinsates by throwing less shots while standing right down the pipe and not getting touched. Top 3 plus minus in the history of the sport. But your biased against him so your judgement is not worth trusting obviously.
Pernell, Toney, and Duran used to get their azzes whipped lol. Toney does throw combinations in the pocket but not against the caliber of Jumbo Giants that Floyd faces.
He doesn't throw combinations because he's a fragile, delicate little p*ssy that's immune to taking risks and overly concerned with pacing himself while waiting for the slobs he's fighting to inevitably tire out after the first three or four rounds.

SRR would destroy Floyd. Floyd fights nothing like SRR, that is insane.
Besides how they fight, all the greats consider SRR the best. All the greats say Floyd is over rated, and is ducks Pac.
Floyd would probably lose to SRL too. Floyd has always had brittle hands and cannot punch too much and too hard. Floyd is far more limited in being a defensive fighter, and not knowing how to fight on the inside. Floyd relies on elbowing on the inside to move people off him.
HAHAHAHAHA!!! People say SRL and SRR would beat Floyd's because all of you have a habit of LYING about the past ATG fighters.
You just told a lie about Floyd being a limited defensive fighter. Bro Floyd is a pocket-stand-down fighter. He will run less than he will stand in the pocket and shoulder roll you to death while coming back with sharp counters on the inside.
You just told a baldfaced lie. And limited? This dud can fight on ropes, pocket, going forward, backwards, he can run, slip, slide, lead, counter.
Against JMM he slipped shots from every angle known to man. Did leaping hooks, pull counters from every angle possible.
After that fight, he completely changed his style and began walking BIGGER men down, while using the high guard(against Mosley).
After that fight, he began walking bigger men down while shoulder rolling, picking off shots, and coming forward.
Against Canelo he transformed his style a million times in that one fight. At one point, he went 100% flatfooted and walked his bigazzz down like it was effortless. He weighed 150lbs while Canelo weighed 165lbs.
After the fight, you all lied and said, "All he did was run"
This is the reason I enjoy taking up for Floyd because this dude been putting in work against some big young fighters and everyone likes to PRETEND that his career revolves around Pac.
Its upsetting that Floyd ducked Pac. He DID duck him, but boxing dont revolve around Pac. And I felt that if they wouldnt fight eachother, their was so many other great fighters for them to fight and Floyd fought them ALL while Pac fought NOBODY.
So it makes me want to stick up for Floyd and it makes me not like Pac. You all worship this man and his resume at ww is AWFUL!!
The thing about Robinson was he was a tough tough man in the ring. Sure he was a pretty boy, could box you and had power to knock you out. But the difference between him and Floyd is he will place himself in the danger zone because he knows you will become afraid.
The speed, length, and power.. the combination of Robinson was frightening as a 5'11 Welter. Okay he's boxing you, so you try to slug it out with him instead.. next thing you know you realize he can only not just box, but slug you out and his hands are faster too. So what do you do?
I've read for a fight before Robinson thought he was on live television, then in between rounds he found out he wasn't. The next round he decided to stop the guy.
I can't imagine Floyd beating Robinson because Floyd isn't known for entering the battle zone especially at Welterweight and I doubt he would challenge a man of Robinson's stature to a slugfest. Mayweather wouldn't do enough to win rounds against a man just as talented if not more.
Bro have you seen Floyd fight? The haters say he dont take risk and credible boxing people find themselves repeating what haters say and Floyd has so many haters.
Thats the reason I always take up for Floyd because of how much false negative folklore surrounds the man, and he is putting in work against bigo'l young guys, and made them look stoopid af.
But Floyd stands right down the pipe, and walks bigger fighters down like its easy. He has ZERO respect for Canelo's power. From the opening round came forward and never even thought of it as a risk. He just has supreme confidence in his own abilities. So to lie and say he dont take risk, no way am I dumb guy.
if floyd is so good why does he have to fight only twice a year? If he is so good why doesn't he defend his 154 belts rather than hold them hostage? Why did he have to rematch maidana, who he already beat? I agree floyd was once a complete fighter. When he was able to let his hands go that is. But Robinson was also known as a complete fighter. What bothers me is that you say you rate how Louis highly on skills and based on seeing him demonstrate these skills then go on the trash Robinson when most rated him higher than Louis p4p. Floyd is not marketed in his skills, he is marketed on trash talking and getting people to hate. The majority of people I know who like floyd aren't even boxing fans. They just like his wealth. I can assure you he isn't marketed nowadays based on skill. You mention how he is fighting younger guys. Well tbh if you have a 19 year career and you only fight 47 times in that space then yeah it's pretty easy to avoid getting worn out early.
But listen. I completely agree that floyd could trouble any weltwr in any era. But could he do it after fighting more than twice a year? Who knows. To say he would just embarrass them is ignorant. I have no problem with someone saying that floyd could beat Robinson because there is at least an argument. But saying he would win easily is just ignorant. Robinson hits hard, has a great engine, great counter, good footwork and decent speed. He would be trouble for floyd for sure.
What does any of this trash have to do with him being the most skilled fighter in the history of the sport? LOL Everyone fights 2-4 times a year in this era.
IDAF about MOST people rating this fighter or that fighter. Most people lie about how great the past ATG's were and thats where I draw the line.
People pay to see Floyd because of his greatness and him being pure perfection in the ring.
He avoids being worn out also because of his perfection in the ring. He never took any punishment because unlike SRR, and SRL, he dedicated himself and is a much better fighter.
When I match Floyd up with SRL, and SRR, I dont think about him fighting in their era and having to fight more than twice a year. I solely think about who is the better fighter. Floyd's style is the figure you out. In the first few rounds, he bodyscans his opponents. Then after that, he knows what angles their punches come from and fights them like a psychic!
The fighters who I think CAN beat Floyd are Aaron Pryor and Manny. They have the STYLES to do it. Not no damn SRR and SRL who will basically try to bully him or outbox him. They have styles where Floyd can move, counter, do all these things in between their punches and movements.
Aaron Pryor does NOT have the style where you can move in between his shots, and counter and whatnot. So I do think ther are fighters out their that could beat him, it just aint no damnn SRL and SRR.
LOL@ the guy thinking Floyd would stand a change against SRR.
SRR would annihilate Floyd. SRL would outpoint Floyd in a boring fight.
SRL had a plus minus of 15, while Floyd had a plus minus of 30 which is top 3 in the history of the sport. SRL's style is all wrong for Floyd. We saw the Floyd Sr fight boy if that was Floyd it would be lopsided.
Duran a guy who cant even speak english got into SRL's head and SRL tried to bully him. Floyd is going to do way more mentally, and bullying Floyd? Thats a no-no from a fighter of SRL's caliber. In the rematch he outboxed Duran.
Outboxing Floyd? Ya, I know lol
SRR would destroy Floyd. Floyd fights nothing like SRR, that is insane.

People watch Robinson clips and think he punches a bit weird. But its the leverage thats created on the shots. He's not only trying to catch you at the end of punches, but when his arm is still at the 45degree angle to create as much power as possible.
He was a baaaaaaad man.
The thing about Robinson was he was a tough tough man in the ring. Sure he was a pretty boy, could box you and had power to knock you out. But the difference between him and Floyd is he will place himself in the danger zone because he knows you will become afraid.

Mayweather might well have got the better of Robinson however I don't think they are that similar. Robinson danced and backpedded a lot more than Mayweather but was also more aggressive because when he moved forward he tended to punch to hurt and knock out his opponent and flurry with hard punches whereas Mayweather has a tendency to pot shot. Robinson displayed more power and was more agressive but Mayweather is defensively a lot better than Robinson and has a more cautious approach.
They are different fighters no doubt, I meant more as to how they do their business. I think if you take either and put them in the others situation they do roughly the same sort of stuff slight variations of course because they do different things well.
It is good to see at least someone knows their Ray Robinson.

Question, how hard was LaMotta to hit?
LaMotta had a good defence, certainly hard to hit clean.
Was he easier or more difficult to hit than Holman Williams or Charley Burley?
Lack of video makes it hard to compare, LaMotta certainly more aggressive. Williams and Burley could be tepid.
Other than cash what were Robinson's issues with the Black Murders row.
Timing, weight, popularity, location, interest.
Which one guy did Ray Robinson hate the most to fight exhibitions against? (hint it wasn't a brawler).
If you can answer those questions you will find what Ray Robinson thought about fighting guys who were difficult to hit~
I didn't say anything about victory, but if you think Robinson would just wreck on Floyd Robinson himself likely would have thought differently.
Actually I think Floyd and Ray Robinson are very similar, have for a long time. They are pretty much the same guy if you ask me~ and both a great fighters. Just one has been white washed by history

so you actually believe floyd would beat ray robinson at welterweight because he didnt want to fight burley and because lamotta was easy to hit?
you think floyd and burley are similar fighters?

lol... Ali is the greatest!!
Allot of people say Ali is overrated and thats a conversation that I dont get involved with because I just rate him personally on his skills but I do rank him up their with Floyd.
He had the slickness and smoothness that guys like SRL didnt have.
SRL could also fight in the pocket as well as going backwards but it wasnt as silky smooth as Flyd and Ali!
Void can barely put together a meaningful combination or even sustain any level of an assault as a welterweight, but he's a complete fighter. :lol1:
F*cking do one, SlurpaMan. Your boy isn't Pernell Whitaker, James Toney or Roberto Duran. These guys could actually fight in the pocket against the highest calibre of opposition and showcase a level of defensive prowess Void could only dream of possessing.

i don't know, i'd say floyd touches rr all night, but rr touches floyd back with a lot more sport on it, and its goodnight irene before the tenth...lol
i don't know bro...i see two different style fighters altogether...
from the footage i've seen of rr (160 lb. version), he was a helluva offensive fighting machine, but he was a dude way past his prime, fighting give and take wars with some young hungry lions...but was looking to finish every time...
i could tell in his prime, they would be severely outclassed, but past prime he took shots, just so he could get in position to land the most perfect shot with either hand, straight right, left hook, you name it, and get 'em outta there....ali patterned himself after rr, and he didn't do too bad with his career, so totally crapping on rr sounds quite disrespectful...i don't know did that guy ever hit the canvas? plus rr was the cash cow of his era, but looked like ppl paid to see him ko dudes...
floyd, gifted, but in essence is a defense minded fighter...could never imagine a way past prime pretty boy floyd, give his chin up to land shots if he is losing a fight bad...no he is going to strategize, tire you out make you miss shots, then pick it up when you run out of steam ala bernard hopkins, and sweetpea whitaker to a lesser extent...
the drama in floyd's fight is more the marketing of the unbeatable defensive wizard floyd is and the sideshow, and all the hype prior to, but not during his fights...i will say he definitely put defensive boxing on a higher level, because it was always the more offensive minded, ko seeking fighters that made the big $...guys like sweepea, hopkins, benitez, they were all great...atg's actually, but never were they considered the cash cows of the sport...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Negrro ofCOURSE you will "See Floyd losing" because 100% of ALL of you ALWAYS lie about how those old outdated azz fighters will beat the present day fighters!
"Der I see SRR touching Floyd all night and its goodnight Irene" GTFO!!! That BUMAZZ fighter aint touching no damn Floyd. LOL
He has 1 or 2 rounds to land anything and if he dont knock him out, its over after the 2nd round keep it funky punk!!
"I could tell in his prime he would be severely outclassed" WTF do you think Im STOOPID?!?!? LOL
That o'l bumazz fighter aint landing no shots on Floyd he cant even beat Pac. Boxing has evolved too much for fighters of that caliber to beat Floyd and Pac.
"Past prime" he took shots because he didnt have any defense. Thats why I say Pac would obliterate this dude that aint even a competitive fight tbh. We already know Floyd is going to show up and show out on a fighter of that caliber.
Floyd aint defensive minded. This dude is a complete fkking fighter. He will lead, counter, walk you down, fight on the inside, fight on the outside, the ropes, pocket, forward, backward etc.
SweatPea is a defensive specialist. Floyd is a full blown tactician. Sweat Pea is a "flashy, bob-n-weave, showboat for the camera" defensive fighter. SRR wasnt even as good as him, and Pernell aint no damn Floyd.
Floyd got popular Because he was marketed for his skillset. Same with guys like MJ, Tiger Woods. People appreciate greatness. When Floyd walked down Canelo without being touched, thats the Floyd people been paying to see. Or the Floyd who outslicked JMM. A ko at the end of the fights would be great, but without it you got so many rounds of pure perfection that boxing will never see again. Top 3 plus minus in boxing history! None like the man!
