I think it's a lose-lose for Lara, he either gets ko'd or loses a ud on the cards if it goes the distance no matter how many rounds he wins, I like both fighters but ggg is a much better draw, so it's better business for boxing if ggg wins one way or the other. lara can only win by stopping ggg and I don't see him doing that, even if he hurts him, he's too cautious.
Canelo 'out dogged' Lara like Austin Trout 'out dogged' Lara. . .no like perro "out dogged" Lara in a phone booth, a hydration clause and memory foam for a mat, I think they all forgot the conditions of that fight.
I could even picture the
Post figth Interview:
Golovkin: "Lara es Un buen chico".
:lol1:
:haha: Lara with both eyes shut closed, 4 tennis balls swollen all around his face and doing his little smirk, blood pouring profusely from nose and mouth "Yo gane el combate. Es claro. Uno viene a ganar pero el referee cuenta rapidisimo. Me cai 14 veces, pero que importa? Yo me caia 40 veces de la yola de Cuba hacia Miami y me levante"
lol dude why do you always bring up canelo in every thread? you closet f4ggot. And who has GGG fought to prove he can cut off the ring unlike anyone else? please? enlighten me lol was ouma an elite boxer? or was it Geale's footwork that was great? or was it Gabe Rosado's excellent boxing ability? Ill wait........ Ohh and Lara gets KO'd in 4 rounds or less
:haha: :haha: My homey Bardock stays vicious. Beercules is also a homey but e-street code is if two homeys slugging it out, you just watch from the side and enjoy. You don't call the cops or ambulance.
Lara gets taken outside inside 8. He ain't got ni dog in him, canelo out dogged him
No Canelo got dogged out, and saved by the judges for the 2nd time in his career, after they attempted to save him in the Mayweather fight.
i just remember golovkin next to alvarez so assumed lara would be similar height next to golovkin, should have boxrec'd, but to move on
oh god
you mentioned that ouma was giving golovkin all he could handle before he tired, yes, because his secret to success was a double edged sword, it was his insane output
and at what point in the fight did ouma utilize deft lateral movement?
he was right infront of golovkin the entire fight except for the little moments he tried to move but instead would quickly start getting his ass beat and was consistently pinned on the ropes, he quickly realised he had to revert to fighting golovkin with punches in bunches but ofcourse he started to break down with the punishment and high workrate, his defense was his nonstop offense
this is not to mention that ouma took atleast 1 punch every round that would end lara
you really have to stop comparing lara to ouma, they fight nothing alike, i think proksa is the more appropriate comparison, proksa like lara will be constantly on the backfoot and on occassion lara likes to put his hands way down in an attempt to "be cool"
also yes, lara will land, but golovkin is also very accurate, from alfredo to ishe, all of them have pinned lara on the ropes and had numerous opportunities every round to let their hands blaze on a punching bag
Good post. Ouma fought nothing like Lara. Dan cov just has a hard on for Cuban boxers
I'm a fan of both fighters and I think Lara will be only be looking to survive a KO from the middleweight monster. I do think Lara has the balls to make the fight though if it was available to him. GGG by UD.
Much shorter? By what, 1 inch? Ouma fought small and showed lateral movement his output had nothing to do with it.
He makes no adjustments, he just sticks to opponents like glue pressuring them to the ropes until he gets through with something. Not one has tried tying him up or pivoting out because they suck quite frankly. Hes not effective center ring unless you're completely static, can fans not see that? Keep moving, keep turning him. GGG needs to set his feet.
You can hardly miss him with the jab.
His left hand is dangerously low at all times, look how low its brought back after he jabs and probes, Lara will find home with that straight left.
Lara's fast, crisp straight shots will beat those wide, telegraphed hooks. The real danger is he remains static and shells up like he has a tendency of doing.
He needs to counter - something he neglects and get out.
Its a very effective style and he has huge power but if people can't see his limitations IDK what to tell them. Of course their reply is the number of amateur fights he had, Lara had about 250 himself and he too is limited. Most top amateurs are limited and get stuck in a certain style.
He isn't proven to be elite, he is certainly not unbeatable and Lara has a chance as long as he don't shell up. He is more than capable of outboxing him center ring.
Lara wasn't allowed to hydrate above a certain point, the fight was in a sandpit and Angulo won no round outside of a knockdown in two rounds. He also takes far more risks than GGG and is willing to take 10 to give 1. GGG is more calculated. More a stalker.
GGG may well win, you have to favour him but I'd bet anything that Lara's style would give him big problems. I wouldn't be surprised for one second if Lara went the distance and was competitive. If he didn't have tendencies to shell up and I thought he'd get a fair shake, I'd give him a good shot of taking a decision.
You have dropped bombs all over this thread.
Lara - GGG would be very competitive and would most likely go the distance in a 115-113 type fight. However, GGG wins it 120-108 on all three cards.
I'd have to see how Lara looks at 160 first. I don't like the way he shells up when his opponents close the distance. That would be my biggest concern if this fight were to be made because there are only so many GGG body shots you can absorb before being broken down.
But Lara has crazy stamina. If he can sharpen up his inside game he will be a force if and when he moves up.
It's funny because as this thread was going on 'Leave it in the Ring' was debating this fight and shortly after Lara posted this.
Great year! Trout @caneloOficial Smith! Who want Cuban School next @FloydMayweather @RealMiguelCotto @gggboxing ??? pic.twitter.com/qEsKMBs67C— Erislandy Lara (@Laraboxing) December 15, 2014

Lara is good. No doubt. And I was surprised GGG didn't snap it up when Lara offered to go up to 160 to fight him, but GGG is gonna' cut off the ring late in the fight, maybe down on points (or maybe not) and beat Lara down in brutal fashion.
This is a fight I want to see, Still not sold on if GGG can handle that type of movement.
Be similar to Canelo as in Lara would be very respectfully of his power but there is no way even if he our boxes him he gets that decision still want to see that fight.
Why wouldnt he be able to handle it? He saw it in the amateurs a bunch, beat Dirrell who's much better h2h than the smaller Lara, but can run just as well, see Stevens for example. Canelo hasnt had much of an amateur career otoh and he fancies himself as more of a "boxer"
This is why I have little interest in the fight I am not saying he will but if he did do enough to get a decision. He would never get the nod and these GGG fans would justify the bullsh*t decision.
He pressured, his powerpunches are worth 10 of Lara's, he ran too much and didn't deserve the win and all sorts of absolute rubbish.
Its so predictable. Its nothing but a lose-lose for Lara.
Lol stop chatting ***** mate. All my points says that GGG sh4gs Lara in the ring. Too big too powerful too smart Lara ain't going to a decision for shot he gets drowned by 7.
I like Lara a lot but I think Gennady knocks him out.
Gennady can actually cut off a ring unlike a certain Ginger Mexican :lol1:

That's easy. Another KO win for GGG. He KOs all middleweights so no Jr. middleweight is going to beat him. Lara is a slick boxer with a fast hard straight left. He is the 2nd best 154 pounder very close behind Canelo. But what works for Lara on lesser fighters won't work on GGG because he is too good of boxer-puncher. I don't think he has ever been hurt or knocked down in 360 amateur fights and all his pro fights. He has knocked out 18 good fighters in a row and Lara would add another knock out to his total.
:lol1: :lol1: That Cuban coward gets sent straight to the grave. The poll says enough lol.
