Seems like every other day he's signing someone. Even with his own boxing network, I still don't see him being able to showcase ALL of his fighters. If viewership is poor then he wont get high paying commercial sponsers. How would they all be able to make money? Where would the money come from with no major networks behind him?
So you are just another ignorant, self centered prick who only cares about himself, not about the sport. Got it. :nutkick:
looking in the mirror? Are you really this dumb? Again, no one can convince me that more boxing on network TV is a bad thing. It has a proven track record. When HBO, Showtime, and PPV took over even the mid level fights that was basically the end of boxing. I understand the upper echelon fights should be on PPV but most of HBO and Showtime cards are not as good as PBC. Just think how many fans your love interest (GGG) would have with some network exposure.
Get it through your thick skull, I'm a boxing fan not a lawyer

So you are admitting that Haymon is a promoter and as such is in violation of the Ali Act and Anti-trust laws?
:nutkick:

And there he goes again trying to convince boxing fans that more boxing on network TV is a bad thing, all because he doesn't like the promoter. Again GTFOH

Really? You want to point out exactly where I said that? More boxing on free network TV would be a great thing as long as it is run correctly, fairly, includes all promotions equally and is not under the control of one man who is a lying, corrupt piece of garbage. Don King would be more trustworthy than Haymon.

Network Broadcasts: ABC, CBS, NBC & Bounce TV
Cable Broadcasts: ESPN, CBS Sports Network, NBCSN & Spike TV
Premier Cable Broadcasts: Showtime
Also they have deals for fights to be broadcast in Spanish on NBC Universe and Women's Boxing broadcasted on Oxygen Network.
I'm sure Al Haymon will find enough to broadcast fights for his fighters, and I'm sure he'll release fighters that he's not impressed with. The idea is to sell a TV contract right around the same time UFC renegotiates its TV contract with Fox Sports or possibly move to another network.
That's the idea behind Premier Boxing Champions is getting a TV deal similar to UFC, and it will most likely lead to PBC doing its own PPV broadcasts. The idea is to get ESPN, CBS Sports & NBC Sports Group to bid against each other and get a big time TV deal done. Eventually though, someone has to force Al Haymon to get a promoters license, that part is kind of silly, he's a promoter now, not just a manager.

NBC, or CBS or Spike or whatever network PBC is airing on, is not putting any money into this at all. Haymon pays for everything from the airtime to the purses. None of the PBC shows will be airing during the week in prime Primetime slots.
He doesn't. He is losing money on each and every show that airs and most likely will continue losing money until the PBC shuts down due to lack of funds or the investors get tired of seeing no return on their investment or the entire thing gets shut down by lawsuits and anti-trust and Ali Act violations.

Nbc sports budget is tiny, cant barely pay scrub opponents purses with that
Nbc sports airtime is cheap, but Nbc proper isnt, esp if he wants primetime. But thats not all, theres also fighter purses to take care of. Very ambitious

How does haymon make a profit, the way he pays for cost and fighters purse ?

Youd hope so, but wheres the money for the name guys? This year its the likes of Fonfara, Barthelemy getting TV dates cause theyre dirt cheap
Half and half. The notable names getting the tv time. most likely the other guys on the undercard.
Some people haven't fought yet

Its cheap compared to regular NBC, but it's still very expensive for the boxing biz. And apparently he is also expecting a few NBC dates as well.
Not only would he have to pay for the airtime, he would have to get sponsorships/advertisement, which in boxing hasn't really been there. And as you mentioned he would also have to pay for the fighters purse, along with production costs, etc, etc.
It's a pretty big move for anyone in boxing, but especially for someone who doesn't have that kind of built in network yet.

he still has showtime backing him.
Haymon is supposedly buying the tv time out of his own pocket. So,e real gangster ****, as no one else has the balls to dp this.
He won't be able to do that once he buys NBC airtime, he needs ratings to oay for advertising to make his investors $ back. Unless he plans on ripping them off, which I don't put past him.
At some point a lot of these guys need to wake up though. Tale the Olympians for example. Most signed with Haymon, dude are still dead broke after years being pro.
The guys that signed with top rank though all got suit cases of $.
Look at a guy like Denis doughlin, signed with Haymon even though he had offers from other promoters, Haymon cut him after two fights, he got no $ now, had to fight in freaking England to make a decent check.

Not all will be on tv. The ones that do make it, will be fighting scrubs. Haymon puts his fighters in against bums.

Haymon's edge in signing fighters is in part dues to the very generous risk-reward package he offers. It's delusional to think that fighters can't see what the rest of the world sees in Haymon's match-making.
I can't see him changing that policy unless he's forced to. His stable is what gives him his power in the sport.

I would give Haymon mad props if he somehow brings Boxing back to mainstream, but it's kinda hard to imagine with the quality of fights he usually gives us.
Hell, he could end up doing more damage than good if he finally gets the opportunity to show the world, and then gives us his usual garbage exhibition match-ups. One or two good fights a year ain't gonna cut it.

well supposedly according to Duva Haymon signed a big deal wwith NBC sports(the old Versus channell) so he's going to have a lot of sshowcase fights on there, and apparently like two cards on regular NBC (obviously bigger fights). And of course Espinoza keeps buying whatever Haymon sh1ts out as well.

I would love to know where Haymon is going to get tv time for all his fighters? | BoxingScene Community
