SMH!!!
Khan and Devon have both clinched illegally.
They may as well change the rules, because I can't remember the last time a referee deducted a point or even warned a fighter for blatantly clinching, which is most certainly illegal. We hear boxers say, "this isn't a bar room brawl" and then turn-around and resort to illegal tactics to win a fight...sh1t doesn't make any sense.
I haven't even commented on this matter yet, but thinking about it now, I can't help but imagine if it was the other way around - I'm not sure a Chinese man would get any support from CBS-Showtime. I was on the fence with whom I was going to root for, but Khan it is :boxing:
I'll be watching Timmeh that night tho.You are right. Clinching in excess can ruin a fight and is against the rules but fighters are seldom even warned for too much clinching. I don't care for either fighter but it seems like an interesting fight. I hope the winner wins big and shuts the loser up if only for a little while.
Devon and Khan both overrated themselves as fighters by huge amounts. This is just a fight between Khan, the 9th rated welterweight in the world and Devon, the 10th ranked welterweight in the world. The fight is just not that important. Neither fighter is that good but it is an even fight in my opinion. They are not anywhere near as good as Pacquiao or Mayweather and probably not as good as Brook or Bradley. The nice thing about this fight is unless it's a draw the loser will look foolish after all the big talk by both men.
once a referee puts a stop to the blatant clinching, which is against the rules, then what is khan going to revert to? this "hit-and-grab" style of klitchko, ward and now khan is ruining boxing.
at rules meetings thew other fighters need to draw attention to this and seek assurance from the officials that the rules of boxing are going to be applied.
if khan manages to sneak a match with mayweather you can bet floyds corner will address this!

i dont like khan but id rather support khan than this blatant racist alexander.
he ruined his career with that anti chinese restaurant racism rant.
WARRRRRRRRRRRRR KHAN!

You can't clinch your way past top contenders. That **** might work against Collazo because he's slowing down but that won't work next week.
Khan did it to Collazo and Devon did it with Maidana. That evens things out. It would be funny and sad if instead of a slug fest, we see a hug fest! :lol1:
Odds wise, hug fest has a better probability than slug fest. In 1 week, we will know. Hoping for a good one.
Devon need to use his foot speed move in quick behind a double triple jab get in range throw combinations. When Khan step in with combinations take a small step back look to counter with a left hand right hook or uppercut.Devon by decision
Precisely why I will be watching Bradley going at it like a true warrior does instead of these two guys who are standing in the proverbial Moneyball lottery line.
You mean Bradley going at it like a true warrior and headbutting the crap out of a bum in Chavez?? No thanks.
Precisely why I will be watching Bradley going at it like a true warrior does instead of these two guys who are standing in the proverbial Moneyball lottery line.
I will also rather watch Bradley's fight... Tim knows his craft...
... This in case Alexander isn't hugging back..
... In short: hug fest with sporadic punches?

Khan will land his straight right with ease. Devon's only chance is to land a counter left hook and KO Khan. Although I'm thinking Khan will be able to take his punches, he looks pretty good at 147. If Khan boxes and moves intelligently, he'll outbox Alexander with ease. However he is under the pressure to perform and maybe go for the KO... Really excited for this fight.

What about Mayweather's clinching, hugging, dirty elbows, running, shoving, lowblowing, forearming etc. you prick???
khan's new andre ward excessive clinching style will dominate alexander.
alexander's only chance as usual are illegal headbutts.

I don't believe Alexander is rugged and strong enough inside to give Khan enough problems.
His only advantage is that he is southpaw, but I don't think it is going to make a huge difference to Khan.
There is a lot at stake for both fighters, so I can't see a really great 'life or death' fight to be honest.
Khan will clinch and hold in later rounds after winning the first 3-4.
Khan by UD.

this is a very good fight as much as the importance for the both of them. eventually alexanders presssure will prevail. this is khans second fight at welter, his chin, and he changes mentally when things are'nt going well. my money is on alexander
